i have been buying tide for a little over ten (10) years....the cleaning power of tide is pretty much the same in every variation of tide no matter what your company claims....however....scent was the number one reason why i chose your brand....tide original....powder form.... (liquid tide is only better for dissolving in water...but the you it fragrance is awful to the senses) .... NONE of your liquid brands have or come close to the scent of original tide.....why did i rate your product as just "ok" ?....for the past eight years you have changed the scent of original tide....while still calling it "original tide"... once you changed your product's scent i have been a dissappointed customer/consumerf of your laundry soap....laundry scent is just as important to me as the scent of a shampoo....or a perfume....it is all designed to please the senses....my personal opinion is that your company is changing it's fragrance to achieve a bargain basement scent....and i have no idea why....i c... Tide used to be my favorite detergent until it's price went through the roof unless you have a coupon. But then I noticed it left my towels and whites with a strange dingy smell to them. First I thought it was just me, but then my hubby said it too. Anyway, I think it's way too concentrated. Doesn't rinse out all the way which means it will fade your colors and irritate your skin. So no more tide for me.

I can't stand Tide. 1) anywhere you go you can tell who uses tide before you even get to them. That is how bad the smell is. 2) It leaves a weird film on the clothing. If I want white whites I use oxy clean, or biz takes out any stains! love it. What people are buying is the advertising. Of all the people I meet... I can never tell if Tide really doesn't fade their clothing... it seems so subjective

Tide is the best of the best at getting stains out of clothes without causing fading. It comes in alot of great scents my favorite being clean breeze and febreze spring & renewal.I wish all their detergents the had extra febreze ingredient or baking soda to get clothes extra fresh smelling. That would make Tide even better.Like the clean breeze scent with baking soda or febreze that would be the perfect detergent in my opinion.

Tide is excellent.  FOr awhile we tried using All, since it was cheaper, but then our clothes started turning gray.  We went back to Tide and they are white once again.  THis time we are sticking with Tide.

Tide means quality, and you pay for it. I have found ERA works just as well as Tide, and maybe better. Era gets all kinds of stains out.  I'm tired of paying higher and higher prices for Tide.

Tide is my number 1 detergent. None of the other detergents, except for Cheer(my second choice) seem to get my clothes clean and prevent fading at the same time. It is expensive at first, but when you compare how little pre treating (uses up more detergent)you have to do, less rewashes that must be done, and not having to buy new clothes all the time because the cheep stuff wears them out pretty fast, then you will realize you actually save money by buying it. As for the animal testing. All the major companies do. If it doesn't say "Not tested on animals" on the box or bottle, that means it usually is tested on animals. There are even some laws requiring animal testing in certain circumstances so at times it is unavoidable for companies to begin with. If you do not want to buy products tested on animals you will have to go with a natural brand that is labeled as such, but I warn you now, they are usually quite expensive and do not work all that well. Ultimately the choice... Read more

Made by Proctor and Gamble, they continue testing products on animals. All of their products get 1 star from me.

Tide coldwater works excellent in my Whirlpool duet washers, occasionally my washers go into "SUD" mode but most of the time they manage fine. Its the only detergent that gets my clothes clean in cold water. I wouldn't use any other product.

We tried this Detergent was not the like the old tide. clothes were clean but seem to be stiff. Maybe we used to much but we followed the directions on the bottle. Tried the powder also. Nope didn't like it clothes had white powder on them after we took them out of the Front Load Washer.

Cold water Tide sucks! I have followed the user UNfriendly Tide directions of filling the washer first, then adding powder, then the clothes - but I repeatedly end up with streaks of undissolved white powder on my clothes when the cycle is done! This has happened with two different machines (one new) and I never pack the clothes in or don't use enough water - the crappy powder just doesn't dissolve properly in cold water. Proctor & Gamble don't bother answering my complaint emails either...crappy product, crappy company!

I've used Tide happily for years. They keep coming up with new scents -- but I like the old original. I bought a HUGE dispenser of "original scent" but it is NOT the original. I'm sure some people would find this new "original" scent pleasant -- but, it nauseates me. So, if you have similar scent sensitivites, caveat emptor. This is completely new and different.

I absolutely refuse to use Tide Detergent. Mainly because of the price, but also I have had problems with fibers literally disentigrating around the seams and pockets of my jeans causing small holes to develop.

I currently have a huge container of Tide HE, because Sam's Club sells it in huge containers for pretty cheap and my other half bought it. Let me tell you that if you get/or have a front loader washing machine and you have not yet purchased Tide HE, DON'T DO IT! It is terrible, not because it doesn't clean, it does, but because it is not concentrated and takes up the whole soap dispencer so that you can't add any laundry boosters or anything like that, it is not nearly as good as the Wisk or All Mighty which both come in tiny bottles and you use a tiny bit.

Tide is one of the bests.. and smells so clean. But not worth all the extra money when Era or Cheer works just as well. And Purex is way cheaper and same soap.

This is a great detergent. My mom used it and so when I needed to buy my own detergent I started using it also. I love that there are so many choices in scents. I love to switch between different scents. A negative is the price. It's much more expensive than other brands and honestly you could probably find another brand that works just as well.

Tide is full of cancer causing agents and have fibre glass in it! Plus they test on animals -I admit it does clean really good but I found a product that works better! Clothes are so clean and softer- and is cheaper and safer! Go to www.toxinfree4life.com and contact me for more information. Everyone who has tried it has switched - yes it's that good!

Its more expensive than the other brands, but my clothes are always clean with Tide, and I don't have to rewash. I'm a nurse, so I have a lot of whites to wash, and they don't get gray/dingy with Tide. The new clean breeze scent is amazing. Its a staple at our house.

The best brand. Outperforms other name brands, and certainly the generics. Glad to see my own experience has been consistent with the trusty Consumer Reports labs. In their Aug 2003 issue, Tide with Bleach Quick Dissolving Powder was their definite favorite. If you prefer a liquid, they recommended Tide Deep Clean -- although they believe the powder excels at stain removal.

I hate Proctor & Gamble. They continue to test their products on animals even though the technology exists to test product safety without the use of animals. I don't care how good the detergent is, it's not worth the pain and suffering of living beings in order to get my clothes to smell good.

In my opinion, Tide is probably the 2nd best detergent on the market. Surf being number one. :) It works good at getting rid of stains, too. And I love the Tide tablets. And as far as people getting rash from detergents, this happens. Alot of people have allergies, you just have to find what works for you. It doesn't mean the product sucks. I must say Proctor and Gamble will always be the best when it comes to cleaning products. :)

I developed an itching rash over all my body in areas where clothes touch, and went to the Dr. this morning to see what's up. We had just changed soap from Tide no scent, to Tide Clean Breeze. And Dr. said that is the likely culprit. I called Tide to see if they had any complaints with this product and he said anything with perfumes in it could be a problem. He asked for the Dr's name and medicine prescribed. So if anyone begins to have rashes after using this product or a scented detergent consider the product first as the cause. Just so glad wasn't poison ivy as I had suspected..

10 no, 11. This is hands-down THE one to buy. 5 kids, I know aloddaboutit. Tried many over the years, wish cheaper ones worked, but you get what you pay for. Tide w/Bleach Alternative almost as PERFECT as powder Tide w/Bleach. Using either of these will keep childrens colorful clothes bright and clean like new for years. P&G makes the best stuff, and I don't work for them.

I don't know what it is, but I have tried other laundry detergents and I always go back to Tide. I'm not sure if my clothes come out any cleaner or smelling any better, but liquid Tide is all I buy. It's more expensive than a lot of the other brands, so it must be doing something right if I continue to buy it. Maybe, that's the appeal of it. If it's more expensive, it must be doing a better job.

I really like the scent of Mountain Fresh or Mountain Spring (whatever it is called) Tide, especially when used with the Mountain whatever Downy. I like my clothing to smell fresh and clean, I am a big scent person. Tide definitely does the job. I have two small boys who don't understand the concept of Not playing in the mud and dirt, Not jumping in the puddles or using a napkin rather than their shirt..therefore, Tide has really been put to the test in my house and comes through every time. My only complaint is that it is one of the priciest detergents around and is rarely on sale. Therefore, I would like to always use it..but I will pass on it if Cheer, Era or whatever else is on sale.
