Thu Jul 01 2010The only reason I listen to the Thom Hartmann show is because he has the weekly "Brunch with Senator Bernie Sanders". I don't agree with either of them all the time but I pick up some useful tidbits from the interplay between Hartmann and Sanders. Plus I like the fact that a U.S. Senator is willing to answer calls from the public. It would be really good if one day Senator Charles "Chuck" Schumer could get onto Hartmann's show so I could let him know a few things that I never was able to convey to him during the healthcare reform debate of 2009 and to which Senators Schumer and Gillibrand were most deaf. I do not find Hartmann as irritating as Ed Schultz but at times he comes across as almost a zealot for increasing taxes on anyone making over $35000 a year. He waxes euphoric about the great safety net in Denmark and thinks it's just fine that their rate of taxation is almost 47%. If that were applied to the U.S. most of us working people would be much more equal than we are now.... Read more

Fri Apr 04 2008I'd actually gotten to be quite a fan of The Thom Hartmann Show in recent months; he was, to me, everything a "radio-talk show host" ought to be, but almost never is-- intelligent, informed, civil with those of a differing perspective but passionate about those issues that should inspire righteous indignation and rage. I listened to him on WWRL in NY, and have just learned that they've pulled his show off the air to make room for someone named Ed Schultz. I don't want to be unfair to Schultz-- I haven't listened to him much, but he has a speaking style reminiscent of Rush Limbaugh, and anytime recently that I have listened to him, he seems to be talking more about his appearances on Larry King than about anything truly affecting the lives of his listeners. Bottom line is I can't imagine he's a better or more learned radio host than Hartmann. Hopefully, Hartmann will turn up again soon, if not on WWRL, then someplace else on the radio dial. WWRL also jettisoned its morning host Lionel i... Read more

Wed Jan 23 2008An intellectual with a fantastic and compassionate command of history and economics. Frequently invites contrarian guests on his show and respectfully gives them time to air their opinions and never ever shouts them down or squelches them. My pick for the best on radio today ... and I am not related to him whatsoever!

Mon Oct 22 2007His good rating is undeserved. Probably all of his small audience of fanatics. He misquotes, uses questionable figures and statistics. An inquiring mind will not listen for extended periods, just long or often enough to observe above. Jim Frambes

Tue Aug 28 2007If his show is so great, why only 4 reviews? Easy, the only four listeners are family or friends, and they sent in favorable ratings. Something to be proud of there, Thom!

Sat Jul 28 2007Amazing show! I wish we all had a little thom hartmann box inside our heads that could help us steer our decisions and recollect history! A true polymath! We need more people like him in our media but I doubt there are many more like him. Truly one of a kind!
