I am admittedly an over-protective pet parent. Jonathan (my 3 year old poodle) has never been boarded and only professionally groomed once. I was worried about my baby and felt guilty leaving him all day….that being said, as soon as I walked through the gate at the Pooch Pad, happy dogs were playing in the yard, and Dawn immediately let Jonathan play with the other small pups. He was running around and having so much fun that he didn’t even notice I was leaving. I picked him up around 5, and he looks absolutely beautiful…like a teddy bear…and he’s so worn out from all the playing that he’s been sleeping ever since we got home. I will definitely be using the Pooch Pad in the future. Thank you for taking good care of Jonathan and for taking the time to ease my concerns.

These folks are amazing!! When my golden was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, he got sick and had to be hospitalized with a gastrointestinal problem, the details of which CitySearch doesn't want you to hear (probably just as well). He came home from the hospital with a VERY odd clip and filthy. He was itchy and miserable and these very nice ladies gave him a bath and evened up his haircut. They dried him a few minutes at a time and gave him lots of rest periods. When they were done he felt better. I can't thank them enough. Who wouldn't want their dog cared for by these kind and gentle people?

This is a great facility. I love that it is family owned and run. They have great grooming services and my baby (four legged), is'nt afraid to go there. I can see by the way he acts when I pick him up that they have given him love and care.

I have been taking my westie, Winston here for a few months now, and he is always super excited when he realizes where we are going. He used to be terrified of the groomer ( and he's usually fearless). I love the cage-free atmosphere and he alway comes home relaxed for the evening. He stays out of trouble for at least the next week. I also like his haircut the best of any place I have ever taken him. I will continue to take him here as often as possible and highly recommend The Pooch Pad.

I have been taking my dog to The Pooch Pad for 3 months now for Daycare and Grooming. As soon as i turn the corner coming there it's like he knows where he's going. Jack gets so excited and can't wait to get out of the car to play. The staff is very nice and always helping with any questions that you may have. The Groomer ask you EXACTLY what you would like and very much EXCEED expectations. I highly recommend any one looking for Daycare and a professional groomer. Way to go Pooch Pad!!!

I have a shih tzu and i was hesitant to take her anywhere because i've had a previous bad experience with a different Groomer. I was very pleased with the staff and how friendly they are. I found out that they give a half day free of daycare for your first visit with a groom or bath, which i thought was awsome. So, my dog got to play and socialize with other dogs before her groom. When i got her back she wasn't shaking, she was relaxed and i loved her cut (Thanks Elaine!!). I walked away feeling rejuvenated and fresh, i will definently keep in touch for future appointments.

I've taken my dog here approximately five times and never had an issue. If you don't like the way your dog's hair is cut, the groomer will fix it. No problem. She's really nice and friendly. I liked this place, because it is kennel-free and they let the dogs run around and have fun. This was great, since they ask you to bring in your dog before 10 am and won't return your dog to you until after 5 pm. Generally, you don't have to pay for doggy day care if you brought your dog in for a grooming. Which is the way it should be, since no other groomer's charge a "pet-sitting" fee. However, my last visit, they decided to charge me $15 on top of what I normally pay for my dog's grooming. They said it was because my dog was in there for doggy day care as well. I can't help that, since they require to leave your dog there all day and now they're forcing you to pay for extra service. After calling to express my concern, the lady (most likely the owner) just said "Sorry" and hung up on... Read more

When I arrived, there were happy dogs out front and happy little dogs inside. However, I have 2 Yorkies and one is a bit scared of other dogs. I don't know if he's anti-social or what. When I came to pick them up, Rocky looked amazing and Rambo needed a bit of an adjustment on his hair cut. Still didn't like it much, but his hair grows back so quickly it didn't matter. She told me he was hiding in the corner all day. My thought was just, why didn't you try to make him feel better? I like the no kennels though. Rocky had a blast! Oh! One more thing. There was a cut on Rambo's leg. It was just a small cut, but I'd appreciate it if I were informed rather than finding it out at home.

I recently took my Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier to the Pooch Pad for a day of playing and grooming. She seemed happy enough when she left and the people were very nice but her haircut is terrible. They only cut the hair directly around the eyes and feet, and nothing else even though I asked for all of her hair to be trimmed. When I complained they refused to take blame or offer a solution to the problem. I'll stick to Gizzie's for the grooming.

Like those above, I checked this place out as soon as it opened as it is close to my house. Let me just tell you, these ladies are WONDERFUL!!! You can tell that they love their jobs and the LOVE their animals. They are always very careful to do exactly what I ask when it comes to grooming my baby. They are also very accommodating to hectic schedules. I would recommend the Pooch Pad to anybody who truly loves there dog and care about the well being of their pets.

I took our Golden Doodle, Lilly, to the Pooch Pad and I was amazed the results! She came out looking like a big cuddly velvet stuffed animal. I mean gorgeous! She has really thick curly hair and some places I've taken her to said they couldn't do anything but shave her. Not at the Pooch Pad though. They used scissors all over her body to cut her curls to an even length. I have no idea how they did it so evenly because it looked like she had been run through a mold when she was finished. I took her back for a summer cut today and they did use a long blade on her but she definitely did not look scalped just cool and comfortable for the summer! Thanks Pooch Pad we love you!!

I tried the Pooch Pad out of curiosity. They opened just right down the road from my home. I had been dreading to take my princess Ping Ping to grooming because I knew she didn't like the previous groomer. She would refuse to get out of the car when we arrived at the old place. Well, with the Pooch Pad, it's a totally different story. She not only can't wait to get out of the car and run to their front gate. When the ladies come to open the gate, she is so happy to see them that she immediately rolls over to let them rub her tummy. She even forgets to look at me when I leave her for work. She has so much fun there. They let her play in the yard before grooming and she gets to run in the house uncaged after she is groomed. I have never seen princess so happy before. On top of all this, the grooming job is always excellent. She always comes home with top style. I almost forgot to mentioned the products they use. Ping has sensitive skin and since going there, she has not had any skin prob... Read more

I took my little Yorkie for the first time on New Year's Eve to the Pooch Pad at the last minute, with no appointment. In the past, I've taken my puppy to other groomers who would keep him all day, for up to 8 hours at a time, with an appointment! These ladies not only took him 30 minutes after I called, but he was done in about 2 hours. They even gave me a tour of all the spaces where little Milo would be playing. What got my attention was of course great customer service, but the fact that the ladies knew each dog's likes and dislikes. While I was there, they were holding one dog and walking around (that dog's favorite thing) and telling me how another comes regularly to get his matted hair combed. (PROOF THAT THEY DO IT! I SAW THE HAPPY OWNER!) And this dog had alot of hair. Looking forward to dropping off Milo for an overnight visit, with no qualms about his stay at this comfortable, home away from home.

The Pooch Pad ROCKS! I used to take my 2 Goldendoodles to a groomer who required an appointment a week in advance. I had to pull my dog thru the door. I dreaded having to make an appointment only then my dogs begged not to go! My dogs absolutely love going to The Pooch Pad. They run in and play when they get there and have no reservations entering. In fact, my female Goldendoodle even ran in and jumped into the bath tub one time-no joke! The atmosphere is so positive and dog friendly. The talented groomer gives my doodles the BEST LOOK in Town. I love picking up my happy dogs from The Pooch Pad!

A friend recommended The Pooch Pad to me and I am so glad she did. I have been taking my little ssweet boys there for three months now, every two weeks. They love it. Going to The Pooch Pad is a great playday for my Maltese pups. Prior to going to The Pooch Pad I was taking my boys to a national chain to save a bit of money. Imagine my surprise when I got spa style service for significantly less than I paid at the big chain. And The Pooch Pad is so hip. It is in Midtown in a turn of the century house that has been beautifully renovated. The floors are so shiney you can see yourself in the wood -- no kidding. It is always clean and fresh and the dogs get to play all day. They even have television in the doggie play room...lol...and nice cushy reading chairs for them to cuddle in. You will absolutely love The Pooch Pad and the wonderful women who run it. Hats off to the best pet grooming and boarding center in Houston!!!

I have to say that "The Pooch Pad" is above the rest. I came in with no appointment, the groomer was very busy but she accepted to groom my Molly a shihtzu. My Molly, she had a previous bad experince with another grooming place, the smell i didn't like it very well. When I walked into the doors to The Pooch Pad, very homie atmosphere smell great and layed back. I like this place for my dog because she wasn't nervous or shaking. She came back to me relaxed, excellent groom and she was very happy playing with the other dogs. Which I really like the fact that they are cage-free. Great place to go to I highly recommend "The Pooch Pad."
