Wed Aug 10 2011When it came out I thought it was hilarious. Watching it now I still like it but I'm not sure if it's some of the gags or because O.J. is in it that takes away from my enjoyment of it. Or it could be I'm an older and crankier bastard that's slowly loosing his sense of humor.

Tue Apr 21 2009If you've seen and loved Leslie Nielsen's Naked Gun series, this is for you, all of the Naked Guns movies together. I can't take watching them all in one night, I laugh too hard.

Fri Apr 10 2009Leslie Nielson made the best parody movies, and Naked Gun was a hilarious parody of police dramas. He's probably the master of ridiculous comedy. While several newer movies have tried to imitate the style of Naked Gun many of them were just stupid (The Scary Movie series, for example, which Nielsen actually plays a bit part in).

Thu Mar 05 2009It's the perfect box set. You just gotta love Nelson. He'll always be someone who can make you laugh out loud. All three movies come in a box set. Though the features are lacking. It's worth the buy.

Wed Dec 17 2008Filled with naughty innuendos and toilet humor, The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad (1988) is plain hilarious. Leslie Nielsen's bumbling Frank Drebin harks back memories of the Keystone Cops of silent film. And with a madcap group of actors who provide for the hilarious ensemble behind Nielsen, the movie is a laugh riot. Who can forget the part where Drebin looks up Priscilla Presley's skirt while she is on the ladder and says boyishly: Nice beaver!? Or the sequence when the bad guy at the hot dog factory starts firing at Drebin, and uttering Ludwig has a message for you, Drebin responds "Don't fire the gun, I can't hear what you're trying to say!" Though its sequels didn't measure up, this one was hysterical and by far the best of the series!

Thu Sep 04 2008The Naked Gun series needs no review, but here we go... These movies are hilarious to some but not to all. They're meant for a certain type of person that likes Hot Shots, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, and any other silly but enjoyable film. Movies made for the goofy at heart.

Tue Aug 12 2008For me, it's quite possibly the funniest movie ever made. I think stupid humor, when done well, is the funniest type of humor out there. It's difficult to pull off. A fine line seperates "funny stupid" from "stupid stupid." The Zuckers nailed it perfectly in this one. However, if you don't get the "spoof" type of humor, stay away!

Sun Aug 03 2008In this collection you get one of the funniest spoofs outside of Airplane!Leslie Nielsen is a riot with a great supporting cast in each of the Naked Gun movies. The Naked Gun is like a spin off from the orginal tevelvision series, Police Squad starring the bumbling officer Lt. Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen). This collection is a bare bones collection with the expeption of commentaries from the Zucker Brothers and Jim Abrahams (the creators of Airplane as well). It would of been nice to have funny outakesand deleted scenes. The collection includes: The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad: Starring Leslie Nielsen, Ricardo Montilbon, Pricilla Presley, George Kennedy, O.J. Simpson, and Reggie Jackson. With the Queen of England visiting Los Angeles, the mayor appoints Drebin and his Police Squad to secure the Queens visit and make sure nothing happens. When Nordberg (Simpson) stumbles upon a lead at the docks, he gets gunned down. This leads Drebin and Ed (Kennedy) to Vincent Ludw... Read more

Mon Jun 02 2008Oh man, where do I start? This movie has the best kind of antagonist: Leslie Nielsen. Every movie he's been in has been hilarious. I absolutely adore the way he makes it look as if he is actually that clutsy and uninformed. I sometimes wonder if he is that way in real life. That makes him a great actor. This movie has so many hidden jokes. I find myself watching it and I'll discover a joke I have never noticed before.

Sat May 31 2008I always liked the Leslie Nielsen entries in this genre. I always appreciate sight gags in a flick.

Thu May 29 2008I really like Leslie Nielsen, at least when he's taking part in hilarious dialogue like this: Frank: Nice beaver! Jane: [producing a stuffed beaver] Thank you. I just had it stuffed. Even though he decapitated a couple of people afterwards, I think O.J. Simpson was great as well.

Fri Aug 24 2007Low, tasteless humor that is impossible not to laugh at. Who knew Leslie Neilson would be good at comedy. Pricilla Presley is hot!

Tue Mar 06 2007This Leslie Nielsen movie is completely dated. The only saving grace is some mildly comical slapstick humor.

Tue Feb 13 2007I'm surprised this is only #46 on the list at this moment. This movie introduced me to screwball comedy, and I still don't think it's been topped. The Zucker brothers outdid even Airplane! with this one because they found a worthy antagonist in Ricardo Montalban who breathed eeeeevil. And the baseball scene may be the funniest 20 minutes I've ever seen on the big screen. How about dat?

Fri Nov 12 2004I love and collect spoof movies and along with the two Airplane flicks, the Naked Gun series are my favorites. Just ridiculously hillarious. These are spawned from the Police squad tv shows, also starring Leslie Nielsen. (1982)They are out on video but hard to get. Try ebay if you want those gems.

Wed Dec 17 2003Released in 1988, David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker followed up Airplane! with The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad! which used the same type of dialogue comedy built on background gags. Leslie Nielsen plays incompetent, but lucky Los Angeles police detective Lt. Frank Drebin who is out to find out who shot his partner (O.J. Simpson). With the help of Capt. Ed Hocken (George Kennedy) and love interest Jane Spencer (Priscilla Presley), Drebin discovers that wealthy shipping magnate Vincent Ludwig (Ricardo Montalban) is plotting to assassinate Queen Elizabeth. Eventually, Drebin must foil the attempt while masquerading as an opera singer and first base umpire at a baseball game. Leslie Nielsen and Ricardo Montalban are perfectly cast as antagonists as the former bumbles his way through the case despite the devious schemes by the latter. Presley and Simpson are not much in the acting talent category, but for a film like this one, it makes no difference and only ad... Read more

Sat May 24 2003One of my all time favorite comedy films- I'll never ever get bored watching this times, and I'll probably watch it 100 more times in my lifetime. It's just a lot of crazy, whacky humor that will make you laugh until you cry. A classic and one of Leslie Nielson's best.
