Back when this pathetic organization was founded, before they starched their first bed linen, mounted their horses, or constructed their first crude cross - the very first thing that should have tipped the generally public off as to their evil intentions was the fact that they felt compelled to cover their ugly mugs. If you're doing something good and that you are proud of you don't really need to resort to that now do you? The way this shameful segment of America's past came about was not unlike the Nazi cancer in 1930's Germany - ignorantly and cruelly ignored - it was allowed to grow until it was simply too late. Anyone with two brain cells and a backbone should have been able to discern this and, as a group, bring an end to it from day one. Thankfully, they now appear to be toothless, weak and ready to take the big dirt nap.

Evil? Sure, but I just don't think they have any teeth anymore. There have been times in our not so distant history that the Klan ran shit. Police, local government, hell, even higher up, all Klan. Now its some disappointed gringos that sit around in camo drinking beer and comparing guns, knives and military training. Then they go home, rub one out to The Turner Dairies, and go to bed. Fucking weak...

Inbred rednecks who have yet to climb down from the trees. Largely irrelevant these days but were quite murderous and evil back in their heyday. First founded in Pulaski, Tennessee. In their formative years they restored white power to N.C, TN, and Ga. They then set out to undermine the power of blacks. Over the next hundred or so years they gained power, killed hundreds and subverted the civil right movement and eventually lost their strangle hold on society. Thankfully. Today the group is made up of psychopaths <seriously, I'm not saying that to exagerrate> and should be monitored closely. But I see no need to hide out in fear of these fucktards; sane, rational, civilized people know better than to be influenced by them.

As a reviewer below has noted, clowns.  But evil clowns nonetheless.Although they seem largely a spent force politically, their attempt to remake their image, and the efforts of apologists to excuse their actions and history is worth a cynical laugh.

Totally evil.  We all look the same without our skins on, so if we did not have skin nobody would know what colour we are. That is part of the problem with this world, we are so intolerant of anybody who is different from ourselves.

They are pretty damn evil, but the depth of their evilness really depends on the area you live in. I've seen KKK members in both Alaska and the Northern Idaho areas and seen what KKK members have done. Usually it's pretty mild and they'll graffiti racist remarks on old abandoned buildings. It's not like how it used to be. It used to be a lot worse, but even now the things they do are horrible. But being a redneck imbred is a pretty hard thing to deal with anyway, especially when you don't have brains.

Now, now, the KKK is not an evil organization.  It's a responsible and respectable outfit that is totally dedicated to preserving, protecting and advancing the values and proud traditions of an esteemed Southern heritage.  A heritage that stands for denying equal rights and protections to all Americans, irrespective of race, a heritage of going to war to defend the sick and inhumane notion that certain human beings are nothing more than mere property.  A heritage that dragged its feet in terms of civil rights for 100 years after the War Between the States and the Scumbags.  There's nothing evil about night riding, lynch mobs and burning crosses.  These are key elements of the Southern way of life, y'all, ye-hah.

An extremist organization using a twisted view of religion to benefit their needs, and no it's not just in the south. The KKK has essentially been carved down to various local groups that range anywhere from well financed, somewhat "professionally" run organizations to a bunch of guys with beer bellies talking bad about Mexicans and black people. I don't think it's the powerful force it once was, but it's still hardly made up of boy scouts.

Calling them douchebags, would be a n insult to douchebags, when in fact, they are evil douchebags.

While they have always been evil, their time has long since passed. They are more laughable than scary and are lamely attempting to continue a tradition that needs to end. Hang up the sheets, the party's over!

Pure evil? Yes they are. But they are also nothing more than a bunch of thugs and hoodlums who conveniently hide behind sheets because they are both ignorant and cowardly.
