Finding a cool rooftop restaurant in Charlotte isn't easy, but The Deck has a great space up top for enjoying cold drinks and appetizers with friends. Weather permitting, sitting on the rooftop listening to great music is the right way to enjoy the summer. Since Charlotte is a few hours west of the ocean, The Deck has brought the look and feel of "the islands" to the Queen City. Though still relatively new and lacking some pictures on the walls, the color choices and menu options makes you feel like your somewhere else, somewhere tropical. The food is FRESH! All seafood is delivered the day it is served, and there are specials regularly. The guacamole is amazing! It's got a little kick to it, with the refreshing taste of pineapple mixed in. And the crab! I had some of the best crab I have ever had there! To wash it all down, try a margarita... they are legit! The bartenders are friendly and make great recommendations to those that are unsure of what to order. the wait staff is know... Read more

I went to The Deck for the first time recently and the drinks impressed me enough to write a review. I had a Hibiscus Margarita and some kind of Spicy Peachy Margarita. Both were excellent. I'm not a huge margarita buff but i'm always game to try a new drink and these hit the spot. I didn't each much. Split chips and salsa and the ceviche with my girlfriend. Both were good, the salsa was a bit to hot for me. Overall, they have earned another visit from me.

The Deck is a really unique place to eat, for several reasons. The menu features a combination of beach fare that I have not seen anywhere but at the coast. The great selection of specialty drinks are made with fresh ingredients. I had the she crab soup, which was the best I have ever eaten. The fish tacos offer a choice of several types of fish. And real frozen custard. If you haven’t tried out The Deck, you have missed a really unique dining experience.

The Deck has become one of my new favorite spots to hit regularly. I've tried many items on the menu and love that with their new lunch specials I can visit even more frequently and stay on budget. Mahi tacos and more! The cocktail menu is not to be missed and make a trip for dinner or later worth it even beyond the tasty food and light, airy atmosphere.

There is NO crab cake in Charlotte that comes close to this one. Seems to be ALL crab. The fish tacos come just as you like them, fries are awesome, cole slaw is fresh, fresh and not all soupy like so many places. The deck up top needs no adjectives...it's the best outside dining in Charlotte. This is my all time new favorite place. Oh yeah, and the wait staff is cute and friendly!

The Tuna Burrito here rocks! And the house made guacamole is fresh as can be. I sampled their mojitos, margaritas, and cucumber cooler and all were super fresh. When i think of The Deck, I think of the cool breeze on top of their Rooftop seating area and Fresh Food and Drink. Well Done!

I went to The Deck with a group of friends last Friday and the experience was great. Someone has finally taken this cursed location (with predecessors such as Plan B and Rocking Lobster I can see why people think its cursed) and produced what people in the Dilworth area want. Fresh, health concious coastal cuisine and the best drink menu in Charlotte. I ate made to order guacamole with grilled pineapple and backfin crab for appetizer. Better than any guac I have had at Cantina. I then ordered the Lobster Roll (the servers recommendation) and it was to die for. The recipe is a secret I was told, but it was overflowing with fresh lobster and they actually use split top buns which is a must in the "Lobster Roll" world. Last but certainly not least, I was told to order a mojito. This was the best mojito I have ever had. If you like Mojitos or Margaritas, this is the place to go. All while enjoying the rooftop patio.

Well, let's try this again, says a restaurant owner who moves into a space which has failed more times than a Char-Meck middle school student taking the EOG's. Fortunately, from my first visit to the newly transformed "The Deck", I think it will last a little longer than the mind puzzling Rock n' Lobster which occupied the space previously. I'm not quite sure why every restaurant from City Tavern to The Place After (so quick I don't remember) to Rock n' Lobster have all failed, other than the fact that there was nothing interesting to pull in a clientele. The location is good, the parking is sufficient and it has a rooftop area which is the only thing like it in the area. The food is decent as expected. I had the fish tacos with fries. You get two fish tacos, which I ordered the Blackened Mahi Mahi. The flavor was a nice balance between the lightness of the Mahi and the coleslaw mixture it's accompanied by. It came with some sort of sour cream mixture which had no taste and I think i... Read more
