80's trash. What a sad group of scared little children. How fucking profound.

Teen angst and class conflict? The usual suspects are rounded up and herded into a study hall in some high school. Where are the school mass murderers when you need them? ZZZzzzz

What happened now? A pack of unsupervised delinquents get locked in a school and a guy tells a story about ripping off someone's butt hair. It didn't degrade into 'Lord of the Flies' or 'High School bimbos in dinosaur hell' territory, so it sucked.

The dramatic intensity was absolutely unbelievable but even that paled in comparison to the above average plot.

I think you gotta drink once or twice with my "Sometimes the '80s Attack" drinking game since one of our rules stipulates that you have to drink whenever Molly Ringwald cries...

Out of almost 6,000 movies on this list, this piece of shit extolling the virtues of teenage angst is the highest rated film? Shoot me now. Please.

Really? Number one among RIA reviewers in the Drama category. God help me if I should go over to the Comedy list and find Ace Ventura: Pet Detective at the top of that list. The Director's cut with the orgy in the AV room is far superior to the version that was theatrically released, btw.

Too much teen angst. If you have or have reared teens, believe me, this is predictable and boring.

good enough movie. a lot of those "teenage angst" movies are horrid. interesting plot about five high school students who have to spend a saturday in detention. each come from different groups. brainy nerd, thug, athlete, popular cheerleader,and Odd ball. although I think different words were used at the end of the movie. good actors come together some scenes better than others. I am surprised that this is the number one drama. i like this movie but there are better dramas than Breakfast club.

Show me!! When we (the audience) learn about John's abuse, during the confrontation with Andy, that is more dramatic than anything that is revealed in the circle scene.

The Breakfast Club is quite the movie when it comes to depicting teenagers in some parts, and even today. Many teenagers who fall into cliques in these days really aren't the stereotypical personal of their namesakes. The Breakfast Club deals with five teenagers, who, after spending a Saturday in detention, realize that their clique label is not as accurate as it initially seems. The Breakfast Club, as a movie, is enjoyable. There are plenty of scenes that could never been replicated (the dance scene is a classic), as well as some sharp, biting humor. Another great use of humor is the way they keep themselves from getting bored, such as making a sculpture out of cups and pencils, something some of us must have done sooner or later. The vibe (cool description, eh?) that High School carries (some good, some bad) is pretty prevalant here. One of the top films of the 80's. The Brat Pack worked GREAT with each other. A fairly well acted movie.

A group of actors most popular from the 80's, before my time as I am only 15. It was cool to see these actors when they were younger, I have seen other movies they were in, but at their current age. This is high school, no matter where you live. So much of what they did and said is true, even so many years later. There were many life lessons in it, speaking teenager life. Most kids are the way they are for a reason.

What a movie!!! Great movies usually have two or three lines you had memorized after seeing it. The Breakfast Club have two and many more. What a great cast to protray what a Saturday afternoon in detention would be like although I haven't experienced that in my time in high school. Judd Nelson's performance as John blows me away as the burnout. One of the best lines in the whole movie is Ally Sheedy telling them her reason for being there in Saturday detention; "I had nothing better to do." The movie is awesome and another great movie by John Hughes. The cast is absolutely stellar!! Two thumbs way up!!!

Because this is a review that is supposed to be on the DVD itself, I'll begin by saying that the special features may not be ultimately all that expansive. But for any fan who wanted to know a little bit more about this fantastic movie and the actors in it, the documentaries contained and the feature commentary by Judd Nelson and Anthony Michael Hall are great supplemental knowledge. The picture is clearer than the original and the sound quality seems to be much better in the film itself. There are never enough words to describe how fantastic this movie is. It speaks to multiple generations of young people without condescention. Honestly, I would recommend it to anyone starting high school or better yet, anyone who has already gotten to know a year or two of it. Please do not be put off by its R-rating. Definitely better than Amadeus! (JK) A funny movie that, for my money, should have been left that way. The pseudo drama toward the end made me want to spew. But then, who am I to question the genius of Emelio Estevez and Molly Ringworm.

Would have given it 5 stars, but I can't get past dandruff on the big screen. And why didn't it affect her relationship with Emilio's character? That much dandruff would have been all over her dark-clad shoulders.
