A bit pricy??? OMG. After the first package they are talking THOUSANDS of dollars. That’s right thousands. If you are rich that is probably ok, but if you want to have fun at a reasonable cost, look around. That is my advice.

You know, like, I read the reviews, and I totally did not believe, that TC's was really that expensive. But OH MY GOD, it was just out the pipe. The manager guy showed me what they expected to keep going on there, and I'm all like ya, in your dreams dude. But the really WRONG thing is, the people they have teaching dance, are NOT certified by any of the REAL, you know, associations of dance teachers, like NDTA or BATD, and they still expect like a mountain of cash. I mean, sure fine, some one who knows a few steps, totally cool to show a friend or something, but to charge like they have real dance training!!! I mean don't teachers have to have, like real training and tests and to be certified???? I guess not at TC's. Uncool, really.

AFTER COMPLETING THE INTRODUCTORY PROGRAM AT TC DANCE CLUB, I BECAME AN OFFICIAL MEMBER JUST YESTERDAY. I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT THERE IS NOT ONE NEGATIVE THING I COULD RELATE ABOUT THE CLUB. THE INSTRUCTION IS FANTASTIC, ALL OF THE STAFF IS FRIENDLY, HELPFUL AND KNOWLEGEABLE, AND I HAVE NOT MET ONE MEMBER I DID NOT LIKE. I HAVE BEEN SPREADING THE WORD, AND INVITED THOSE I KNOW WITH AN INTEREST, TO CHECK OUT THE CLUB, AND EVEN GAVE A FEW WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO A COUPLE WHO WAS UNDECIDED. THEY DID END UP JOINING. I LOOK FORWARD TO EACH LESSON AND PARTY, AND AM ALWAYS SORRY WHEN THEY END. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ANYONE WITH A REMOTE INTEREST TO COME IN AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF WHAT THE CLUB HAS TO OFFER. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE AND WILL NOT BE SORRY!

I moved here to Overland Park in 2008 and had been working so much I never felt like I had a social life. Then I saw a coupon in the KC star for dance lessons at TC Dance Club...I thought, "Well, if I know how to dance at least I can go out and not look like a goof." With in a month I had not only learned a few basic dance steps but had made many friends in the process. Based on other reviews you may be wary to come here but if you're really looking for a fun place to learn to dance and meet friendly people this is the place to be. If I hadn't found this place I would have most likely given up on Kansas City and I'd be back in Montana by now.

As a person with considerable inside experience I can advise that the goal at TC is not for the students to learn to dance well, but rather the goal is to sell as many lessons as quickly as possible. If your objective is to learn to dance well, you would be wise to shop around and compare. Observing students of other venues dance, it is amazing to see the difference in skills. The dramatic difference in costs are also outstanding, it is surprising to see just how much TC Charges, while imparting such a lower level of skill.

We tried TC’s a few months back, and were very unimpressed. The environment is quite lovely but that was offset by the many limitations we found. Our instructors were not that knowledgeable in dance or teaching. Several times specific requests for a dance we wanted to learn were refused. We were told that would have to wait until we had purchased advanced packages, we would have to pay more to learn the dance we want to know. That did not make sense to us at all. What difference does the dance we wanted to learn matter? At the group lesson we attended the instructor leading the class actually did not know the steps, and this was for a basic class. Other students in the class had to help the teacher!! The club is very expensive. Lessons are only forty minutes long, and for most lessons five to ten minutes were wasted with chit-chat and promotion. After the introductory lessons, they wanted us to purchase a contract for twenty lessons. The cost for Twenty lessons was over One thousan... Read more

IMHO I would advise to stay away from this studio. Lessons are much more expensive than many other dance venues in town, and many of the instructors at T.C’s are just young kids off the sidewalk, taught a few basic steps, and possess no other education in dance. What I find most upsetting is it seems set up to slow and stretch out the learning process. That is accomplished by instructing one dance; perhaps waltz, for one or two songs and then the music switches to another type of song and another dance is covered. How can any person retain what was studied in that mode of education? I found it not possible. Private lessons in many other studios locally are sixty dollars or less for an hour lesson, a full sixty minutes. At T.C. the cost is eight-five dollars per lesson, BUT the lesson is only forty minutes long. That means an hour, sixty minutes, of instruction is one hundred and twenty seven dollars and fifty cents! This is double the cost of private dance instruction in many other l... Read more
