A charming hang out movie. The scenes involving the plot about the main character trying to get over his ex are boring and we have all been there before. But the hang out scenes with his buddies playing video games and talking about movies I enjoyed.

An outstanding romantic comedy from the male's perspective. What is the most brilliant about Favreau's writing of this piece is that he realized that with men, most of the comedy occurs before the romance ever starts. This is a modern classic and should be a pre-requisite for any young man.

Watched it over and over. It is different than the blatant comedies out there but just as funny. Loved it!!

I'm not sure how I lasted so long without seeing this movie, but it just turned out that way. After hearing friends of mine rave about it, quote from it ("Did you get the digits?"), and compare themselves to characters in the movie, I was kind of expecting the worst. Swingers is in fact an amazing movie - and oddly touching. It's a guys' movie through and through, and does a very believable job of portraying how single guys act and act towards each other - without falling into the trap of beer commercial stereotypes. Definitely a movie to rent for your buddy who is coming off of a rough break up. Five stars.

swingers is one of my favorite movies of all time. in college, this was our drinking movies. i agree with the other viewers who say this is a movie males would like. i've seen it with a few girls, and only one like it, but with my friends, we've seen it at least ten times and laugh at the same part all the time. it isn't a movie that is a laugh minute, but its one where you can relate. also, you will have the vocabulary in your head for weeks.

In the day of AIDS, the internet, and phone sex, the club scene has seemed to plummet in the past decade, but "Swingers" was just the film to revive it! A film about male camraderie, Swingers drills holes into some of our accepted stereotypes of men while reaffirming other ones. The heartsick, sensitive Mikey, the down-to-earth sensible Rob, the too cool for words Trent, and his quick-tempered partner in crime, Sue, not only serve as the main characters in this film, but as stereoypes that have been generated since the dawn of cinema. What is so wonderful about Favreau's script is that he gives us moments where the actors can stop being their characters and start being human ie. Big T standing on the table in the diner and Mikey ranting about going to clubs. Those are the moments when the female preconceived notions of men start breaking down and the ideal of men as real, thinking people start replacing them. I can't think of a better comedy for Gen-Xers, men and women, to see together.... Read more

Swingers is a good comic representation of the LA life; I know after living there for four years. Even though I wasn't of that age group then, I saw how people were and are now in the "LA Life" (west LA).

My friends loved it, but I didn't. The movie moved pretty slowly and was mostly boring. But it did have some great parts and the story was decent. The best thing about it was the acting, which was pretty good. It was better the second time I saw it.

This movie is really funny. If you like to go out and have a good time you'll love this movie. If you're a dork this movie is not for you.

Swingers is one of my favorites of all-time and the first movie I actually purchased. It is brilliantly written by Jon Favreau who originally wrote it so that he and his friends would have a movie to star in. As another reviewer, Ruby, said, this isn't laugh out loud funny. Instead, any guy who watches the movie will see that just about every scene hits home in some way. Vince Vaughn steals the movie as Trent, a guy who women want to sleep with and guys want to be friends with. Fellas, if you haven't seen this film, check it out. Your girlfriend won't like it as much as you do, but it will make up for all of the times she made you sit through all of those chick-flicks.

One of the best movies of recent years. It's not a laugh-out-loud comedy like many on this list, but its hilarious in parts and engaging throughout. A real life look at real guys. In some ways, Swingers is like a male version of Fried Green Tomatos or one of those other quintessential chick movies. After all, this is all about how four 20-something guys cope with a friend that's lovesick and depressed. While I know some female viewers get turned off by little flashes of misogyny, the more important message of the movie is about the quirks of male friendship, and how friends rally to help each other in non-obvious ways.

I have seen this movie a lot and I still like it. It is so funny because you can relate to each character on a different level. The guys were great actors and the portrayal of the LA scene so well. It is a great movie for guys and girls.

I was the targeted audience when this movie was released. Great commentary on a group of guys in their mid-20s who all have different values and agendas. There are so many scenes in the movie that make me feel like I am experiencing deja-vu from situations I have been in. I think a sequel should be in order.

One of the absolute funniest movies I have seen in some time. A MUST WATCH for any guy in the aftermath of a breakup.
