Surf's Up was surprisingly entertaining, against all odds. I didn't expect to like it thanks to the surfing plot and being produced by an animation studio other than Pixar. The film is partially a fake-documentary, which is an interesting approach to an animated film. The story is sweet, but not saccharine, and despite a star-studded voice actor cast, the voice acting is done well. If you're a fan of CGI kids films, check out Surf's Up. It's a hundred times better than the other CGI penguin movie: Happy Feet (of which they're inexplicably making a sequel).

Tremendous! It took a lot of research and technology to make this movie. Though it is hard to imagine penguins surfing instead of swimming, this movie can show how funny they are if the act humanly. I am a fan of Chicken Joe, which does talk in a Californian accent and walks like a chicken normally does. It is surprising that the protagonist does lose but thankfully it was happy nonetheless. Nice plot, great music, and funny for all ages. I can't wait for the DVD. :)

If you've ever followed surfing (even if just in the movies and TV), and especially if you've seen the movie Riding Giants (recommended, see it first), and you like to laugh, then see this movie.  I laughed more in this one than in Ratatouille (both movies are good, I just liked Surf's Up better).
