Mon Mar 10 2008I really can't say much more than what SBGuru just said. As a Giants fan this was the best year that I can remember because the Giants were the best team all year going 14-2 and dominating through the playoffs. This Super Bowl had the closest half-time score, 10-9, and then the Giants ran off 24 unanswered points in the second half and eventually routing the Broncos 39-20. This was the first championship for the Giants since the 50's and their first Super Bowl Championship in the Franchise's history. This also marked the first time that the Super Bowl MVP, Phil Simms, would say "You just won the Super Bowl, where are you going?", "I'm going to Disney World/Land". Thu Nov 15 2007Being a Giants fan, Super Bowl XXI is one of my fondest memories. The Giants defense was incredible. They outscored their 2 playoff opponents by a combined score of 66-3. The Broncos took a more difficult route through Cleveland. John Elway had come of age during the playoffs and made a name for himself by executing, what is known, to this day as simply, "The Drive". Elway took The Broncos 98 yards, in just over 5:00 for the tying TD in the AFC Championship game. The Broncos would win the game in OT and punch their ticket to The Super Bowl. The 1st quarter of Super Bowl XXI was an exciting one. Broncos QB, John Elway and The Broncos, took the opening kickoff 45 yards on 7 plays but had to settle for (at the time) a record tying, 48 yard FG by K, Rich Karlis. On The Giants 1st possession Giants QB Phil Simms, led The Giants right down the field for a TD on 9 plays for 78 yards. Simms was 6-6 for 69 yards on the drive and found, backup TE, Zeke Mowatt for a 6 yard TD reception and a 7-3 G... Read more
