Fri Jan 02 2009I will admit that I was a slacker in '08 and I wasn't consistent with my practice. It is a new year and I have returned to SunStone in the past few weeks. I wasn't disappointed with any of my classes!! It was as if never left off. That is what I have always enjoyed about Sunstone. Like a dear friend, the teachers are always really nice and welcoming. As the years go by I find myself enjoying setting myself among the newer students for a few of the classes. I find the energy rewarding and they are more willing to smile back. The Sunstone staff has always been very accomidating with my account and they are always prompt in answering any questions I have via email. With the auto debit, all I have to do is walk in-sign in, and begin my practice. I am also looking forward to the extended hours and the hour classes!!!

Wed Sep 10 2008I really appreciate the service that you provide, along with the atmosphere you have created. It has been a tremendous experience for me, both physically and mentally. I've lost about 20 pounds since I started last December. My doctor initially did not recommend this activity, and said that I would be seeing a lot more of him if I did yoga. After about 6 months he told me my posture was better, the sway in my back had diminished and that my overall health had improved. He recommends it now.

Tue Jun 24 2008I was a member of Sunstone yoga for over 2 years. I loved Sunstone in the beginning, before it became too crowded and students were asked to move mats--way too close to other students. I arrived early for classes to secure a spot in the room and to have some quiet time to relax and almost always had to move. However,I was willing to overlook these minor inconveniences. I had to terminate my membership at Sunstone, due to the birth of my child (nursing, need for a babysitter etc.) I put my membership on hold when I was pregnant and completely forgot to tell them I would like to cancel. As you can imagine, new mothers have a few other things to worry about. They REFUSED to refund the auto-debit made to my account. Not only did they refuse, they ignored my repeated requests for a refund "in good faith." They were not willing to discuss the matter at all--only to say the membership would be cancelled. I am very dissapointed to end my membership in this way. The other very unfortunate p... Read more

Sun Apr 27 2008If you want a truly professional staff of instructors, this is the place for you. They offer a challenging workout (it's my replacement for running), supportive atmosphere, and the mental benefits that first drew me to yoga.

Sun Aug 19 2007I just finished my $10 for 10 day trial, and I think I'm addicted. I really enjoy working out in the friendly and professional environment. They have clean mats for you to use (you can bring one if you want), towel service (no paying for use of a towel here), big bottles of water for only $1, yoga gear you can buy on-site, showers with shower gel and shampoo provided, not to mention some great teachers who will make sure you push yourself, but never hurt yourself. I love the feeling of getting all the toxins out of my system and taking 90mins just to focus on my body and my health...good ol' ME TIME. The only change I'd like to see is their early morning Fire class begining earlier so I can clean up and get to work on time...my only option is to go after work, which can sometimes be difficult.

Mon May 21 2007Great facilities, knowlegable and friendly instructors, well-defined classes, and very convenient schedules. Further more, free mat, free towels, free tea if you like some, and free seminars and workshops once in a while. I strongly recomment SUNSTONE Yoga studios to everyone!!

Fri May 18 2007The teachers are super friendly, give great instruction, and facilities are clean. Having mats and towels at the studio makes it easy for me to go to yoga without a lot of planning. If you haven't tried hot yoga their Fire class is the best place to start. I have taken many friends there because I know they will have a great experience.

Fri May 18 2007I tried yoga poses I saw in books or in magazines but Sunstone really helped me understand yoga. If you think yoga is all about uncomfortable positions, meditation, or chanting... well it's not at Sunstone. I have lost weight and I am in the best shape of my life. Even without meditation I find myself feeling the mental benefits of yoga. I try to get all my friends to come because I know what it did for me. I can't recommend Sunstone enough.

Thu May 17 2007Make sure to bring in your white towel otherwise it will distract the instructor. Quote from Brandan (owner) in an email that was sent, "Tell her to come back. Its good for her and she can hone her reading comprehention at the same time.?

Thu May 17 2007I highly recomend this studio and all of the other Sunstone locations! Great stuidos and classes. Awesome instructors and retail. I always feel incredible when class is over. Try the 10$ for 10 days to see if the environment is for you... My advice: dont give up after 1 or 2 classes; your body gets used to the heat and you start to really enjoy the atmosphere. Bring water and be prepared to sweat like crazy!! What a great full body workout!

Tue May 15 2007I have grown to love and value my time spent in yoga practice more with each day at Sunstone Yoga. It was difficult to find the time to practice regularly as a beginner, but once I did, I found that I was gaining more than simply physical benefits. My outside life has also changed as a result of my practice at Sunstone Yoga. I now desire to eat better foods for my body, for example. My husband and I cook most meals at home too, so this is an example of how yoga affects the lives of those around me in a positive manner! Come check out Sunstone and see all of the benefits that you will get!

Mon Apr 09 2007Sunstone has been great to me! The studio is awesome and the people are what make the experience one of a kind. Great for all levels of yoga, and the variety of classes is wonderful for any practice. I would highly recommend this yoga studio to all of my friends and family!

Mon Apr 09 2007By adding sunstone into my normal exercise routine (running and weights) I have lost weight much faster and been able to keep it off easier by doing only 2-3 yoga classes a week.

Mon Apr 09 2007What I love about Sunstone is that you have hot yoga, power, strength-building, you have it all under one roof. I also love the ability to run all over town and be able to drop in a class wherever I go, Plano, Richardson, Uptown. It's super convenient!

Mon Apr 09 2007Since starting yoga at Sunstone over three years ago, my body has become stronger, much more flexable and my attidude is wonderful. I love the clean studios, the wonderful teachers with all their information and love for their students and the introductory price at 10 days for $10 will be the best $10 you will ever spend.

Mon Apr 09 2007When I first went to Sunstone, I had never done yoga before. The instructors put you at ease immediately! The classes are easy to follow and are offered throughout the entire day. They even offer classes at 8:00pm during the week which works so well with my busy schedule. You can't go wrong with the trial offer of $10 for 10 days. Best $10.00 I ever spent!

Mon Apr 09 2007Sunstone has a great variety of class styles to build strength, flexibility and slim your body down - whatever your fitness goal. The instructors and fellow students are always friendly. The yoga room and changing rooms are clean. The mats and towels provided are nice because I don't have to worry about bringing anything with me. Give the $10 special intro a shot and check out any location you are close to.

Mon Apr 09 2007Sunstone has helped me with my health and happiness! Everyone at the studio is super nice and they always smile (hence the happiness line in my review). As soon as you walk into any of their studios you feel right at home. The space is clean, bright and full of well-trained instructors. The classes rock and since they offer different styles there is something there for everyone. My recommendation: GO TO SUNSTONE!!! Everyone deserves a place to be healthy and happy.

Mon Apr 09 2007Sunstone for me offers everything that I want at any given whim. If I am looking for a good sweat while doing asana...Sunstone has it. If I am looking for strength and stamina, yes the Metal class ROCKS! Sunstone has all that I could want and more. The people are friendly and the service is great. All I need to do is bring myself in the front door and they provide it all. I really like the pain free yoga philosophy. I had never experienced that in my life anywhere! If you are looking for a unique and wonderful yoga experience, come to Sunstone you won't regret it!

Mon Apr 09 2007Awesome Yoga studio. Quality staff and instruction. I've never found a gym that can compare to this experience. If you are not looking to bulk up, this is the best workout you could ever be a part of. It has helped me loose body fat and replace it with lean functional muscle. I thought Yoga was all about streching and being flexible, but through this studo, I have come to realize it is about strength and flexibility and bringing my body back into balance. If you want the best fitness experience of your life come check it out... you'll be glad you did. They even have a 10 days for $10 to try it out. I never thought I'd be good at yoga, but now I see I feel good because of Sunstone Yoga.

Mon Apr 09 2007I cannot recommend this yoga studio highly enough! There isn't a single thing I would change. The instructors are wonderful...not only certified with the yoga alliance 500 hr. level, but genuinely happy to be there. My practice at Sunstone started an entire wave that's led to a much healthier me: with more energy, natural desire to eat healthy foods, better sleep, weight loss, stress reduction, and glowing skin. Not only is the yoga awesome, but sunstone sells lots of great merchandise like cute clothes, jewelry, mats, books, organic skincare, etc. I love it...It's my favorite place in Dallas! With an intro. offer for $10 for the 1st 10 days, there's absolutely no reason why you cannot be as happy as me. :)

Mon Apr 09 2007I started at Sunstone, to take advantage of the $10 for 10days. I thought, for $10, even if I went just once...it would be worth a try. Well, I liked it so much, the teachers were caring, inspiring, and motivating, that I completed 12 classes in the 10 days introductory period. I felt completely energized, and at the same time much calmer. The teachers are knowledgeable, encouraging, and the packages they offer are priced very fairly. It's also nice, that if you forget your mat, they provide them, for FREE, towels too. I've practiced at all 4 locations, and they are consistently clean, and the staff is friendly. If you want to try something different, and also take on new physical challenges this is the place to try!

Mon Apr 09 2007If you have not been to Sunstone Yoga you have to come try out the most amazing studio there is in the DFW area. The studios are extemely clean, the instructors are all registered at the 500 hour level and are highly trained and wonderful! I started coming to Sunstone back in 2004 and fell in love with it because it offered a great workout that I was looking for, but it also helped me to let go and relax. I walked out of every class feeling calm, open and ready to share this experience to everyone and so I hope from reading this you will take the opportunity to come and try is out because I bet if you come and try you just might get ADDICTED!!! I sure did and still love the experience of every class I take. Come and Enjoy the Bliss:) Ashley Sells Dallas,TX

Sat Apr 07 2007If you are looking for a great yoga experience then I always recommend Sunstone Yoga. My friends are always impressed when I bring them with me.

Sat Apr 07 2007The yoga is an amazing physical challenge. But the people are so friendly and make it really easy to try it if you are a beginner. The teachers are knowledgable and attentive and non-judgmental, and it is obviously a well run business.

Sat Apr 07 2007When I walked into Sunstone I immediately felt the stress roll off my shoulders. The classes they provide are designed for every level, when I did my first class I was so nervous I was very concerned about how my performance would be rated, I was worried about them trying to change my religion, I was worried about my excess weight, and thought I would be surrounded by thin vegetarians that passed too much gas. Finally I just got over it and after months of procrastinating walked into the studio and just gave it a whirl. It was the best $10 I ever spent, the first class hard, it was hot and I was ?out of shape?. The instructor was great, she was very supportive and encouraging, and said some things that made feel at ease she said ?forget the person beside you, you are here today for yourself and no one else, be happy you made the effort to walk into the room today?, and she was right, I got over my fears and just turned up. The class had approx 25 people in it, I felt O.K body wise th... Read more

Tue Oct 03 2006This place is AMAZING! The Routh street location reminds me of the loft studios in San Francisco. The classes are staggered so you really have NO excuse on why you cant go. The teachers at the Sunstone Yoga locations are the absolute best! They are very knowledgeable, extremely patient with new students and kind ( if you have ever tried hot Yoga you would appreciate that. It is not easy at first). I went here a year ago when I first started to work out. I decided to do a Yoga practice because of the benefits of the group discipline without having a workout partner. I stayed because of the staff, facilities, price but more because of the way I felt after a few weeks of going. If you havent tried hot or power Yoga try the 10 classes for 10 days offer, ITS Pratically FREE!Come on what are you waiting for?!!!!!!! It is worth the trial and you too will be hooked! You will love your body and mind at Sunstone Yoga! Dont forget to tell them you found them on Citysearch!

Sun Jun 11 2006In Short This large, clean loft studio attracts practitioners who are interested in a vigorous form of yoga. Mirrors line two walls so you can check your alignment. Sunstone's 90-minute classes take place in a heated room (98.6 degrees, with 60 percent humidity). This hot and powerful style of yoga follows a specific sequence of poses. The studio offers teacher training, as well as sells yoga clothes, gear, and DVDs, along with nutritional supplements.
