Sunrise hospital does not insure the safty of the public. They have a parking garage where several employees and visitors have gotten there cars broken into and stolen. They have had nurses jumped and beat up in the parking lots. They have no cameras to secure there parking lots. Security allows people to loiter and break into your vehicle. Word of warning.....dont go there alone. Our emergency room visit was the worst most unprofessional visit we could have experienced. I was sick to my stomach and waited in the er waiting room for 5 hours and asked for a basin to use and the nurse just screamed at me....i do not recommend this to anyone...not alone the safty of us being there. we lost all of our stuff and all we got was we didnt see anything. What do they pay these guys for??????

It was about 6:30 am on memorial day last May 25, 2009. I arrived at the Sunrise ER with a really severe pain on my right side. Upon arriving at the trauma and ER grasping my right side in agonizing pain, I was instructed to fill out a form the nurse did not asked what's wrong. I waited about five minutes then a Nurse ask what's my name but still did not ask what was wrong I was then sent back to the waiting roomat this point I realized there was nobody else in the waiting room, while I was seating and waiting in severe pain I notice two or maybe three security guards chatting with the nurses in the ER I ask them if anyone can help me but all I got for an answer is up to them, I ask one of the nurses, she then answered by saying "what?" in an obviously annoyed tone. I asked them where the nearest VA Emergency Hospital. either noone knew or just ignored the questions... then she told me just the minute. I feel like I was a nausance to them, I had no choice but to be at their mercy then... Read more

After being admitted to the hospital, I was visited by a nurse. She began by criticizing my neurologists in Dallas. She said, ?Why do you have three neurologists? Don?t they have one who is capable of handling your problems?? I explained that this was not my idea?it is simply how they organize their practice. They have patients with the same illnesses grouped under the same physicians. Thus, since I have three disorders (MS, epilepsy, and migraine) I am seen by three doctors. This nurse literally snorted at me, and continued to make disparaging remarks about my Dallas physicians. There was never an offer of any help, or comfort, or any question about how I felt. It only got worse. A medical assistant indicated that the doctor wanted to do numerous tests, and change all my medications. I explained that I was leaving Las Vegas for Dallas within days, so this did not seem to be a logical course of action. He just shrugged and said that I could decline if that was my wish. He ... I got a bad stomach virus during a recent business trip to Vegas. After being unable to keep fluids down for over 24 hours in the dry desert air, I went to the Sunrise ER (it was late evening) to get treated for dehydration and nausea. Upon arriving at the adult triage I was not acknowledged nor asked the reason I was there. A sign on a table instructed me to fill out a form (still not asking what's wrong) and drop it in a slot. Approximately 30 minutes later a nurse called me back to ask what was wrong and take my vitals. I was then sent back to the waiting room for another hour before a second person called me back to check me in. After I was entered into the computer I was sent back to the waiting room until a bed became available. After waiting in the waiting room for 4 1/2 hours (freezing, light headed, terribly nauseated unable to drink any fluids for fear of being sick again.) I finally tried to ask one of the nurses how much longer it might be. She refused to even acknowledge ... Read more
