The new sunlight oxiaction without phosphate is terrible. I have used sunlight dishwasher detergent for many many years and have never been disappointed with the great job cleaning the dishes that it did. This new sunlight does not clean even after putting detergent in the prewash and the wash dispenser, something I never had to do with the old sunlight.. I have just had to hand wash most of the silverware and glasses and run the dishwasher again. How about going back to the old sunlight!!! Thank you Linda Embry

This column seems to be rating 2 different products, but I want to throw my 2 cents in about Sunlight with Oxyclean for automatic dishwashers. I've been using it for years since the scent is mild and agreeable. However over the last few months the product has been leaving a film on my glasses and silverware. With this last bottle, it isn't even cleaning my dishes. I plan to return this new bottle to the store and get my money back. It's time to try a new product... maybe one of the environmentally safe ones. They can't possibly do a worse job.

I was just about to call a repair man for my dishwasher due to dirty dishes and a film over everything including cutlery which had to be scrubbed by hand with an sos pad to remove - even the stainless dishwasher door is covered in this film - when i thought, wait a minute - maybe it's the dishwasher soap. Guess what? It is. The worst product ever. I can't imagine how it ever got to market. This column seems to be rating two entirely different products - dish soap, and dishwasher detergent. My rating is worse than terrible - doesn't clean the dishes and ruins everything in it including the dishwasher. Don't buy this!!!!

I've been using Sunlight Dishwasher detergent in my machines for years. I actually preferred it. But recently all that was available was Sunlight Ultra Oxy Action and I was feeling good so I bought two boxes. Shortly after starting with a new box our machine had a film, there was a powdery residue on anything plastic, like storage containers, and then some of my glazed dishes started feeling rough and not shiny any more. It wasn't until the day one of my pot handles turned from black to powdery grey that I decided it had to be the detergent. I was hopping mad. I had also noticed my machine started making noises it didn't make before and the racks would squeak when they slid. My wife went out and got another dishwasher detergent and we switched. Suddenly everything was fine. And the racks don't squeak. There's nothing I can do about the pot handle or some of the crockery surfaces, but I am still not happy to find a detergent which actually seems to corrode my dishes. As one o... Read more

I have always used the old Sunlight Lemon dish detergent, but thought I would try the new Ultra Sunlight Extra. What a mistake and a waste of money!! I have to put more soap in my dishwater at least 3 times because the soap disappears very quickly. If I am washing something with a little grease on it, the soap is gone!! I'm going through twice as much. I will NOT buy the new Ultra Extra ever again. Not only does it not last, it looks watery. A bad, poor product!

The WORST dish detergent I have ever used. I am doing lots of dishes this time of year (Christmas) and am having to put soap back in at least 2-3 times if not more. I will NEVER buy this again! Might be good for your hands, but not for dishes..or your wallet!

How would I rate Sunlight Dishwasher Detergent? How about ---5 stars. Worst ever. I purchased this product and after using it 2 or 3 times I thought there was something wrong with my dishwasher because none of the dishes were clean. There was always powder residue on everything and there was always some left in the dispenser. I actually called in a repair person which cost me $75.00 who told me there was nothing wrong with my dishwasher. I just continued to rewash each load 3 and 4 times and then would hand wash everything. Then I bought Cascade Complete. Fantastic stuff. My dishes are sparkling clean. I don't even have to rinse them before putting them in the dishwasher. So, Sunlight? Never!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my favorite dishwashing liquid. I can only find it at Walgreens but it's worth the trip. I love the scent. I HATE fruity smelling soaps. I like soap to smell clean and Sunlight does.

I have been buying Sunlight Ultra in the white bottle for more than seven years at my Nearest Walgreen's and they discontinued carrying it. Then at Walmart and now they have stopped stocking this store. It is the only dish soap that I have found which eliminates skin problems on my hands. Where in the vicinity of St. Louis, Mo can I buy the "SunLight Ultra Sensative Skin Piel Sensible" in the white bottle, "The Yellow bottle causes a rash on my hands". It will not be sold if it is not available SOMEWHERE.

I found Sun Light Ultra Dish Detergent for Sensitive Skin at a Wal-Mart a long way from my home, but I would always go there when I needed it. I went there today but they no longer carry the product. I am so disappointed. I have very sensitive skin and this product does not harm my skin. I need help finding this product again.

We recently bought a home with a well--our first ever. I had about given up finding a dish soap that will work with this hard water. (I don't own a dishwasher and don't want one, I know, I'm weird). Everything gives out well before I'm done. Then one day I was shopping and spotted a bottle of Sunlight Ultra Sensitive Skin and liked the way it looked so bought a bottle. It's amazing! It stays with me until all of the dishes are done and I now have to wash the suds out! (A very good thing). Sunlight Ultra for Sensitive Skin is also easy on the hands. I can't recommend it too highly, especially if you have hard water.

Lots of suds, good cleaning action, will not leave an unpleasant scent in your sponge after multiple uses like Dawn does. Also, the scent rinses clean off your hands so you don't smell like the soap like happens with Palmolive.

Sunlight extra works terribly. It is a pink liquid dish soap that says it is sensitive on hands but tough on grease. In fact, the grease cuts it...as soon as you put any dish in it that has the least bit of food or grease on it the suds disappear. I have never refilled the sink so many times! I don't notice any great difference with the way my hands feel afterwards either (although I do not have sensitive skin, those with a problem may notice a difference, I don't know). I'm switching back to the Palmolive Oxy (and no I don't work for them, it's just a waaay better dish soap!)

I have never ever written to a company about a product but I an SOOOOO very disapointed in the SunLight dishwasher detergent that I just had to post my opinion, I ran the dishwasher twice and the dishes were very dingy and dull and food still on them! I hate the product and will never ever purchase it again. I would not even rate the item but I had too in order to submit N in Wisconsin

Hey, I don't know what some of you are talking about unless you work for Palmolive or something. To each their own I guess. I have been a fan of Sunlight for years. It works great and is the only detergent I have found that does not cause me to have an alergic reaction to its scent. I have been dissapointed that for the last couple of years it has been getting hard to find. It is a great value too. I even put it in my soap dispensers and wash my hands with it.

it is horrible. It made all my plastic cups smell like spoiled milk. Left a nasty film on it. I even went back to directions to make sure there wasn't some other way to use this. I was using it correctly. My glasses were not clean and turned the dingy and left a grease coating on those. just a bad product. The was the one with the oxi in it.

I am so disappointed. I usually use Electrasol but decided to try Sunlight tabs in my dishwasher. I had to rewash all the dishes with Electrasol as they were still dirty as the Sunlight tabs didn't clean them at all. What a waste of my time and money.

This is by far the worst detergent I have ever had the misfortune to purchase. I have to fill my sink (no, not just add water - empty it clean it with a GOOD cleaner - and start from scratch) from three to five times to do a regular wash load of dishes (and there are only TWO of us!) My husband is SO upset with this product, he thinks we should get our money back. When I try to clean my counters, table and stove, all it does is smear the crease and dirt around. Please do not abandon us, who have been faithful traditional Sunlight dishwashing liquid users.

I am a hobby machinist and I have found NOTHING that will cut machine grease from my hands like Sunlight Detergent Ultra. I tried them all and keep coming back to Sunlight, even though it's a bit hard to find at times. Keep on making a great product.

I have been using Sunlight dish detergent for a couple of years and I am very happy with it, however you have recently changed the packaging from a short squat bottle to a tall 19oz bottle. This new bottle is too narrow on bottom and is constantly falling on my counter. The short bottle was much better. Please return to the old packaging. Thank you.

only other one in comparison for me was palmolive. great suds long lasting to soak and very gentle on hands. sensitive to skin made me rank it ahead of palmolive. Dawn ok Dove and Joy are average at best for me.

This product made by Phoenix Brands claims to have a new grease cutting formula...well I beg to differ! It couldn't cut grease with a knife and I have yet to see all the foamy suds it is supposed to produce. It may be moregentle on my hands but I personally like to eat off clean dishes. Will never buy again!

I have suffered with Eczema on my hands for years and have tried many, many dish detergents. I recently purchased Sun Light Untral dish detergent for Sensitive Skin. It is the best that I have ever used. It is the first time in years that I've had any relief. I must not be the only one that feels this way because I returned to the store yesterday to purchase more and there was none to be found. I don't know what you are doing to make this product so great but please keep up the good work.

Fantastic! I have plastic boxes that have covers that I put the raw meat catfood in and they got rid of the smell in about an hour. Other brands take overnight or all day. This one is the best.

I have moved to FL and cannot find the Sun Light powder. Is it no longer being produced? The stores do carry the liquid but I much prefer the powder. It is a great detergent.
