I want my figure to be svelte. If I have a choice between McDonald's Southwest chicken crap (it has nachos) or Subway's black forest ham, I would chose the latter. At least, I won't have to worry about getting a nasty case of diarrhea.

Really gross now that I've started to go to my local sandwich shop (Piemontes for the win). I can't even eat this stuff when it's free. http://www.abovegroundpools4less.com/

My wife likes their sandwiches and once in a while I'll get one. I prefer my local sub shop over Subway given a choice.

You may not believe me when I say this, but SubWay now has more locations in the United States than MCDONALDS. Don't believe me? Look it up. Anyways, the place itself. I enjoy SubWay every now and then... although the menu's a bit deceiving. You think sub, you think healthy - and SubWay seems to like to advertise "Eat fresh." as if it means everything's good for you. Sure, maybe they use some quality ingredients, but take a second to look at the nutrition facts on their subs, and you'll see they're calorie bombs! BUT, they're damn good. I recommend the BMT or Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki subs.

I was on a road trip threw Arizona and got food poisoning from a bmt sandwich, i threw up 15 times and still have not been able to eat and it's been 5 days, it is by far the worst illness I have ever experienced. Just my experience. (there are subways at every stop on the old route 66, just made it more unbearable) Justin .

I like Subway so will continue going to them , but not the one not even 5 minutes away from my house. I'd rather drive 15-20 minutes out of my way then go back to them. The screwed up my order twice. The first time they gave me somebody elses order. I went back and they somehow switched orders. I got the person in front of me order, and they got mine. When I went back into the place, they tried giving me my sandwich that somebody else had and touched. I said no way I want a fresh one. Then today I said I want turkey breast, pickles, and the light mayo on whole wheat....6 inch. I get into the car and drive off and I realized you know what something didnt feel right about the sandwich. I pulled into a parking lot, unwrap and THERES NO TURKEY! Just pickles and mayo. I went back into the place FUMING. The person behind the counter made the mistake of getting loud with me because you dont get loud. I'm the customer. She yells you said no turkey! I said no I didnt! I said what am I going ... Read more

the Subway location on West Fifth St. in Austin TX is a RIP OFF!! gone in there several times and you pay $4.00 for a bun and lettuce basically. how can you expect people to pay your price for 2 slices maybe 3 of turkey, barely one slice of cheese (the cut one slice in half, so only 2 halves are one piece of cheese!) and they skimp on the extras (lettuce, tomato and all the others) The total amount of meat isn't even 1/4 pound. WHAT A RIP OFF!! and actually I've seen them give more deli to "pretty" people. Don't bother to go there!

Subway in bartlett TN is always packed and for the most part pretty clean looking. The only sandwhich I order is the Bmt which are pretty good. Except for today I walked in an order the turkey/bacon/guacomole club. Its was so so terrible (NASTY)!! 2 slices of turkey that had no flavor to it tasted like water. Bacon tasted like low sodium and the guacomole tasted like pure salt, Not to metion the employee loaded it on the bread and the whole thing was soggy. It went in the garbage I hate wasting my money, especially when I could have gotten my regular Italian BMT or meatball sandwich for 2 bucks(looked pretty good).

Subway restaurants are very dirty and the employees are usually very unsanitary while preparing your sandwhich..I prefer Quiznos and would never eat from a filthy Subway!!

I had a Cuban sandwich at Port Washington, Wisconsin yesterday. The people behind the counter making it asked me what I want on it. That was my first clue they didn't know how to make it. They had no flat bread and they asked me basically how to make it. Well its pork, ham. swiss cheese pickles etc, The pork tasted like liver sausage and almost made me sick. I also bought an iced tea which was luke warm. I think you should discontinue the Cuban sandwich until people know how to make. The thought of it still makes me sick. I rate it from 1 to 10 being the best a 1 or even a 0.

So how many Jared's out there really lost weight while eating sandwiches? I've seen fatties sit scarf down a footling and a half and a trough load of chips like they were eating air and still look hungry. Hey, Gorge-Zilla! Stay home and make sandwiches so you can at least retain some dignity for Christ sake.

Sandwiches aren't bad. And the price is reasonable, but the ones in the Atlanta area are dirty. I would rate them higher if I could find one with a passing health inspector score. I haven't seen a clean one with a score above 80 in a long time. Meanwhile, I'll keep going to Quizno's.

I would give Subway a higher rating, but really everything they have you can make at home for a lot cheaper without too much work involved. As an alternative to other fast food it's a lot healthier, but salted meats are never that healthy for you really. The Veggie sub of course is very healthy, but again, easy to make at home, but if the bread is fresh it's worth it to get it at Subway. It used to be cheaper (the veggie sub) but the new price makes it almost not worth it.

Ugh! The last time I ate from Subway was about a year ago. I ordered a ham sandwich with lettuce only and soon after eating it had a horrible belly ache! I don't think the food is great quality and freshness of the food would probably depend on location, but at least the prices are good. They could do better.

They have ok chicken tender. They sometimes would have not OK choices such as something not my type such as mayo, pepper and salt, and etc. Cold Cut sandwich is good. I don't really like Mayo even a bit, it make me sick. I prefer to go other sub restaurant like Milio's than Subway that Milios don't have order me which I want such as pepper, mushrooms or something with an options. Milios always their own reciepe automatically, it is not my manual options.

Subway isn't awful, but its not a place I would normally choose to go. I usually prefer a sub from a local pizza/sub shop, but I even prefer most sandwich chains over Subway. They tend to skimp on the meat and load up with lettuce. The quality of their ingredients is decent, but not great. All together I find Subway to be a very average place to grab lunch, and its not a place I would choose to go to on my own.

Subway. The greatest place ever created. I've been there at least 500 times in my life in at least 5 different states. I have always loved a Veggie sub from Subway. The greatest option is the creativity, that you can pick and choose what you want. My personal Veggie sub-- Footlong Veggie on Wheat (generally) Not toasted Provolone Mozzeralla cheese (also generally) Pickles Cucumbers Spinach (How I love my tasteless green leaves) Salt and Pepper Oregano Parmesan cheese. It tastes like an orgasm in the mouth. Yum yum. =P

The biggest thing Subway has going for it is convincing customers that they are eating healthy when they eat here. Fast food is fast food, folks, and just because its not fried doesn't mean its good for you. If you think this is eating healthy, you need to read a bit about nutrition. As far as taste goes, this is cheap belly fodder. Nothing special, nothing interesting.

Reasonably healthy if you stick to the whole grain fresh bread, fresh veggies, don't double down on the cheese and drink a juice. But start adding all the oily sauces, procseesed mystery meat, extra cheese, mayo, salt...... and throw in 16 ounces of soda pop, a bag of chips and a cookie and you are pretty much eating the same crap as you get at every other fast food joint.

I think Subway is pretty good. And most of it is on the healthier side, but this depends on what you get. I also like how they have the healthier side choices, apple slices or yogurt, as oppose to chips or a cookie. It's also good how you can choose to make your sub however you want.

Good selection. Pretty consistent from store to store. Bread is usually pretty fresh. Their 'hot' fare isn't as tasty to me as Quiznos, but their cold sandwiches seem consistently good.

I love Subway and I eat plenty of it! My favorite Subway shop is only a block away from my house. They are always so nice to me there (except for one time when I found a hair in my sub and asked for my money back and the manager told me no and accused me of putting the hair in it myself....I haven't seen her there in over 7 months, though so it's not a big deal to me anymore). Also, I am never hungry after I eat one of their sandwiches and can usually get two meals out of a footlong because they stack them so high! My favorite is either the "Veggie Delight" with lettuce, green bell peppers, pickles, black olives, banana peppers, Swiss cheese and heavy mayonnaise or the "Oven-Roasted Chicken Breast" with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, green bell peppers, black olives, pickles, banana peppers, mayonnaise and their sweet onion sauce. Delicious. I'm hungry now. Unforunately, it's 2:30 in the morning so I'm going to have to wait until later to satisfy my craving.

I don't know why, but it is kind of stinky when you walk into Subway, but the food usually makes up for it. I havn't been to a subway for a long time though, so it might be worse, or better. I think the smell was only one restraunt, so I don't think you would have to worry about it!

I used to be all about me some subway, then I found a hair baked in the bread. I've tried it a couple of times since then and it has been lacking--which is sad b/c I was craving it in the worse possible way.

Costs too much for what you get. $8 for a sandwich, chips and a drink?UPDATE: I'm temporarily increasing my rating of Subway to 4 stars for as long as they have the $5 footlongs. It doesn't make their food any better, of course, but it does make them a cheap lunch option.

It's not greasy enough for me to crave it like I'd normally crave McDonald's burgers and fries, but it's a slightly healthier alternative. In fact most of the time when I visit a Subway I get their salads. Not only are their vegetables fresh, you customize it to the way you want it and might as well skip that extra carb from the bread. However, you'd be paying too much for something you can easily do in your own kitchen for 1/10 of the price.

About the only "fast food" place I'll go since you can find healthier solutions there, providing you watch how much of the condiments you load on.  I love the turkey breast/ham on Italian Herbs and Chesse bread.  IMO, Subway is MUCH better than Quizno's.
