Wed Jan 05 2011Cheap & just as good as most of the crap on here that costs 2,3 or 4 times as much. Actually,I like natural shampoos the best,Avalon makes great ones.

Thu May 27 2010Believe me i have tried every brand on the market, my family says our cabinet in the bathroom is full of brands i bought tried and never used again. my husband says if they stop making "hair junk", i have enough to last us a lifetime. I started using the suave vibrant shine shampoo and loved it. I like the smell, it doesn't dry my hair out, gives it shine and it gets the styling products out. I have tried the other shampoo's from suave but vibrant shine is my favorite. i have just gotten a new conditioner so I'll have to update later. As for some of the reviews i have read, some of those people just don't get it. I'm sure I will keep trying the new products that keep coming out making promises, but in the end we all know what will happen I'll come back to suave.

Tue May 25 2010Absolutely Awful !! Conditioner makes hair come out in handfuls !! Scary ! It seems to make hair so soft that it falls out ! It's no good having soft hair if you dont have any left !! Steer Clear !!

Sat Apr 24 2010I have tried the new professionals lines, the sleek kind and the almond and shea butter and both have work great on my hair. I have wavy hair and use the in-styler every other day to straighten my hair so it needs a lot of repair. I was using a product to leave hair soft after every shower that costed me more than $6 a bottle of 3.4 oz now with Suave I don't have to use or spend my money anymore. Suave is good, convenient because you find it anywhere you don't have to go out of your way to buy it or spend extra money, you get it all from a brand that when you buy the shampoo and condition you won't spend more then $5. But it's definetely true that it depends on your hair because I also have tried Wen the very expensive kind that you can only buy it through mail order and it did not make my hair as soft and shinny as the Suave brand. I recommend to try it what do you have to loose is just a few bucks and you got to win a soft, shinny, manageble hair!!

Mon Mar 22 2010Don't like it. I usually buy the highly rated, expensive salon brands, but I ran out, and decided to try something a little cheaper. After two weeks, my hair was really dry, and it tangled so easily. It also made my hair even wavier than before, which means more time in the flat iron, which means less healthy hair. It did get my hair clean, and it didn't really look bad, but I won't be buying it again.

Sun Feb 07 2010I love the smell of suave but it dries my hair out.

Sat Feb 06 2010I have to admit I really like Suave. I have tried Biolage and used it for years but just made my hair too soft, like it was still in my hair. When I use Suave and I only use the Coconut and love the smell, with the coconut conditioner and I really like it for the cheap price. I do not wash my hair everyday because it strips my hair of it's natural oils. I also do not blow dry my hair, therefore my hair is pretty healthy. During the winter months my scalp will be too dry unless I use conditioner, so I definately don't forget it. I used the strawberry kind before but didn't like it. the scent was weak. I also use the clarifying kind at least once a week. I really like Suave because some shampoos and conditioners leave your hair looking and feeling oily or greasy, but when I use Suave it looks and feels clean without feeling oily. I have used many shampoos and this is a great one. Some expensive kinds are not as good as you think they are. Another shampoo I really like is one ... Read more

Thu Nov 26 2009Suave = Cheap bullcrap. Makes my hair itch like hell.

Wed Jul 01 2009I've used many a Suave product over the years and think they are as good if not better than the original products. I once used a Suave that was supposed to be a Biolage knockoff and I liked the Suave better! Its much more affordable and lets face it they everyone uses the same ingredients!

Tue Jun 09 2009I really like Suave for the money it's a great shampoo. I don't have problems with it at all. I would keep looking at it though and it still seems to do animal testing. There is no not tested on animals label. I am trying not to use it for that reason.

Wed Jun 03 2009Suave is kind of like the Designer Impostors of hair care products. Most of their scents smell like Herbal Essences or other brands. Basically, you get similar quality products at a cheaper price. I don't think it's a mind-blowing brand, but if you're short on cash, it'll get your hair clean!

Wed Apr 08 2009I decided to switch to Suave after buying a bottle on a family trip where I ran out of expensive Loma conditioner. It was cheap ($2) and I figured I'd only be using it until I got back home (+ I'm a college student so I didn't have bundles of cash to spend anyway). Little did I know how well this stuff worked & boy was I in for a surprise. My hairstylist had commented on the dryness of my hair before, but never again after I bought the Suave Humectant conditioner (and I'm pretty sure she knows hair better than most). The conditioner worked so well that I actually started using the Humectant shampoo after I ran out of my other brand (Biolage). My only piece of advice to the people who have trouble with it leaving residue: Take some time and wash it out thoroughly before you complain about how much is left in your hair. I know it takes a bit longer, but if you do it right there's a good chance you'll get the same result as the more expensive stuff. Pros: Extremely low price,... Read more

Fri Jul 25 2008I have used many Suave shampoos and conditioners over the years. This year I had to give up on conditioner because it was making my hair come out bad. So I have only been using the suave shampoos. It seems to me lately that the Suave shampoos don't get my hair clean as they used to, and they don't seem to smell as nice either. Maybe it's just me but I've been dissapointed in Suave lately. I feel like I have to was my hair with the stuff twice in a row just to get it clean. My hubby uses the Suave shampoo as well and he feels the same way as I do about it. :-)It just doesn't seem to work anymore, like they are using less potent ingredients or something.

Fri Mar 21 2008I was short on cash, and had no choice than to buy a less expensive shampoo and conditioner than the one i usually buy. WalMart had suave professionals sleek shampoo and conditioner on sale so i decided to buy it. After using it for a few weeks now, my hair is sooo much softer than before. I love it! I will be sticking to suave professionals from now on :)

Sun Mar 02 2008Our household could be a commercial for Suave products. We use the hair products, body wash and antipersperant. Not only are the products cheap, but works as well as brands twice the price. I will admit I'm weird- but I also care about the shampoos and soaps matching in color with my bathrooms. I am happy to say that Suave offers all of the colors that I need and looks good in my bathrooms. (TOLD you I was weird!)

Sun Feb 24 2008There are a few products from Suave that I think work great. I really like the Suave Sleek shampoo, conditioner and the Sleek Smoothing Creme. Ever since I tried it I don't use anything else. I have even tried more expensive brands and nothing compares to this. Usually if you continue to use a hair product over time it doesn't seem to work as well but, it works great everytime I use it. It makes my hair easy to manage, soft and full of body. I like to apply the Smoothing Creme to the ends before I blow dry and my naturally wavy hair stays straight all day. I also think if you have oily hair that the Clarifying Shampoo works great too.

Fri Aug 10 2007This just made my hair feel heavy, coated and dull. I even have soft water and rinse well. Won't be buying this again.

Sun Jul 08 2007Suave is the best - you can find it in about every drugstore, grocery store, and mass items store (Target, etc.) and all of their stuff is $3 or less. I have been using it for years - the naturals line smells so good, but the formula can be thin and the shampoo can irritate eyes. I just use a lot and buy another bottle of $1 conditioner, or close my eyes tight. Then they introduced a Professionals line - I have never used Matrix or Biolage or anything, but after going out to buy a bottle of Matrix sleek.look, my hair seemed to turn out better when I used Suave! I not only wasted $15 on the Matrix bottle, I found that the drugstore brand worked better. If you want a great, smooth look with no flyaways, buy the whole Suave Professoinals sleek line - you'll only spend about $10 anyway.

Fri Jun 22 2007I've come to like their Radiant Brunette shampoo and conditioner from their Professionals line.
by jy1123
Wed Jun 06 2007I'm a hairsalon-brand junkie turned college student. I was forced, for lack of money, to buy Suave. I thought it was going to be horrible, but I got a surprise. I bought the Radient Brunette shampoo and conditioner. It smelled the same as Redken's or John Frieda's and worked just as good. I think it was $2.50 a bottle compared to the brand's $7+ per bottle. I also used to use Matrix Sleek Look to style my hair. I swear by that stuff. I bought the Suave imitation of it and compared them side by side. Matrix's was a little thicker, but overall I couldn't tell them apart in how they made my hair feel. Overall I think it's a great brand and I can spend my money (that would be used for salon brands) on other things = )

Wed Feb 14 2007SKIN CREAM. I'll put Suave Skin Therapy Natural Oatmeal Fragrance Free Moisturizer up against ANYBODY. (The fragranced version smells nice but my skin doesn't like perfume on it.) I used to use Curel because it was one of the few products on the market that eschewed mineral oil and used glycerin/petrolatum as the key ingredients. But Suave uses roughly the same now and at about half the price (3.99!): Water, White Petrolatum, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Glycol Stearate, Colloidal Oatmeal, Hellanthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterols, Lecithin, ocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Urea, Collagen Amino Acids, Sodium Stearoyl Lactate, Mineral Water, Sodium PCA, Potassium Lactate, Lactic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Carbomer, Stearamide AMP, Ethylene Brassylate, Trolamine, Corn Oil, Disodium EDTA, Methylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, BHT, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) SHAMPOO. Listen to Consumer Reports: shampoos are all essentially th... Read more

Thu Feb 01 2007As a guy, I love the cheap price of the product. . .but my ex-girlfriends usually hated the shampoo and blamed all their hair troubles on this stuff. . .guess that's a middle review. . .

Wed Jan 31 2007I have really mixed feelings about Suave. My hair is thick and curly/wavy. I agree that it makes my hair clean, but my hair isnt nearly as soft as I would like it to be. The stuff does smell good. But so do other brands. I pretty much just use this crap, and tolerate it while I'm super broke...so that I have time to scrape change for something of a better quality
by chirp23b
Sun Oct 29 2006I can't use it.It makes my hair frizzy. It must be some crappy ingredience.

Wed Jul 13 2005This is really good for people who are on a budget. The daily clarifying shampoo gets out EVERYTHING! Sure, there are better shampoos and conditioners, but if on a budget, Suave will still do the job. Either I have really silky perfect hair, or suave does a good job. Cuz I just used suave and I've never felt hair silkier than mine. Suave is good for a good price.

Sat Jul 02 2005i just came back from a family camp, and there was a girl there in her 20s (like me) and she had gorgeous hair. it was shiny, wavy, not oily, and detangled. i was in the bathrooms when she was taking a shower and i looked what shampooo she was using because it was on the floor. i was expecting john frienda, biolage, or at least pantene or herbal essences. but no, suave!! it was the ocean kind. shampoo and conditioner. so tommrorow i am heading straigt to brooks!!
by ivytwine
Wed May 04 2005I use the condition-only method (absolutely no shampoo) and Suave conditioners are great for that. My personal favorite is Milk & Honey. The clarifying is great for preventing build-up, as well.
by morningglory
Fri Apr 29 2005I don't mind using Suave shampoo at all, even though my hair is colored and needs some special attention. Shampoo is pretty much shampoo, and suave has a large selection at a great price. I won't, however , use their conditioners. They are just not effective, not only for my dyed hair, but in my opinion for other hair types. So for the price, Go for the shampoo, but if you need a good conditioner~look elsewhere!

Mon Feb 28 2005Cheap product, cheap price. This shampoo COMPLETLEY stripped my hair of any moisture whatsoever. My hair was so dry and frizzy and I had to use my old shampoo over it just to wash it out!
by mkpinky
Fri Feb 04 2005I think that Suave is great. It's just like every other shampoo, it works with some people's hair and some not. It just depends. I use the Lavender Shampoo and my hair smells like lavender even if I haven't washed my hair in a couple of days. My boyfriend loves the smell too.

Fri Nov 05 2004I am a total cheapskate so I go through a lot of Suave shampoo. I can't see spending several dollars for a bottle of essentially soap. I do find that my hair seems to build a tolerance to several of their shampoos, so I switch types after each bottle. I do agree that their professional series shampoo does seem better than their other offerings. The only uncomfortable thing about their shampoo is that some of them smell good enough to eat/drink and I'm not sure I really want to walk around all day smelling like a fruit tray.
by halfandhalf
Sat Apr 03 2004You cannot beat Suave when it comes to value for the price. I'm on a very tight budget since I'm in college, and their shampoos and conditioners work quite well. I would recommend their professional series which basically try to mimic salon shampoo, and their naturals smell delicious. For those of us who don't have a lot of money to spend, it's a great choice. I have very fine and rather dry hair, and their products have worked very well for me.

Sun Feb 15 2004There is no way I would replace my normal hair products with this stuff. It just doesn't clean good enough...almost as bad as that other generic stuff....I think they call it White Rain! If you really care for your hair, you should either go with Paul Mitchell or Biolage. If you MUST buy from a discount store, even though you should avoid this at all costs, I would probably say Pantene or Vidal Sassoon is the best out of the lower class shampoo choices....

Fri Jan 02 2004Alot of People like to knock on Suave because of it's modest price, don't let that fool you. Suave make damn good stuff. Their Clarifying shampoo totally rocks, it is like the only shampoo that gets %100 of the hairspray, gels, out of my hair with no build up. I also have used Paul Mitchell level 2 shampoo, and it comes nowhere close to getting all the build up out of my hair, due to using hairsprays, gels and etc. and the Paul Mitchell level 2 is designed to get these impurities out, it just doesn't. Suave you made me a believer. You can't go by the price or how pretty the bottle looks, you go by what is inside the bottle you freaking losers.

Sun Nov 02 2003This is a terrible product. I have used it and did not like it. The shampoo left my hair dry, frizzy and wavy (i have straight hair) The conditioner detangles but doesn't leave hair soft and doesn't repair split ends. I'll never use it again!
by kendra_cmm
Fri Feb 01 2002I love suave, The prices are good and I never have any complaints about my hair when I use it. Suave has so many different kinds for all different hair types and they all smell great. Some people don't buy it because it's cheap but I think it's silly to waste money on something that isn't any better than the the cheap stuff. What I love the most is the hairspray because it doesn't cause flakes and it holds without stickiness

Tue Nov 13 2001i don't care what the commercials say, this dries out your hair
by likerealmusicn_otcrap
Sat Jul 14 2001It depends on what Suave product you buy. I have had good luck with the Thermasilk imitaion, along with the coconut (which smells so good) but I stay away from the styling products. The hair sprays don't hold my hair at all & the gels are sticky. My kids weren't impressed with the Suave kids shampoo & conditioner in one either...left their hair tangled & gummy feeling. I would recommend the Thermasilk imitator one though....and the price is right.

Fri Nov 24 2000This is the best gel ever made. It not only smells good, it holds hair very well. It's the best.
by chelanie
Mon Nov 20 2000Suave sucks! It's too watered down. The conditioner does not work. It's just like water. Of course, price goes with quality.
by sexylexy
Thu Nov 16 2000This product is very good because it's exactly like Herbal Essence, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper. It even has the same fragrances, but I only get it when I'm really broke as a joke.
by deeski
Wed Nov 15 2000It might be cheap, but it works hella good. If you're on a budget but want to wash your hair at a cheap price, then you can buy these products, feel good, have good looking hair, and have money in your pockets.
by aroseb90
Wed Nov 08 2000Suave totally sucks a phatty! The conditioner leaves tons of build-up which turns your hair into one huge knot making it totally unamanageable. Knots all day long. The only good thing I have to say about it is that it is oil free.
by highcee
Tue Nov 07 2000The best in hairspray, mousse and gel. Smells good too. Does not dry out hair. Cheaper than other brands.
by nikkie
Thu Oct 26 2000Suave is the only hair product I use to wash my hair. For some reason it works really well with my hair.
by mityf46e
Thu Oct 26 2000Wide variety of products for all hair types. Shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, etc. Great line. Leaves hair feeling clean and light. Great prices. Not expensive. Great deal. All products including deodorant are great!
by sgarcia
Tue Oct 24 2000This product should be removed from shelves ASAP. Hair is left sticky after shower. Conditioner won't leave hair soft. Hair products such as hair spray damage hair from the amount of alcohol in it.
by bonerxviii
Fri Oct 20 2000Suave is a product at a fair price. It definitely accomplishes the task and is perfect for the frugal. I feel cheap when buying this product, almost inferior financially. But I'm not the wealthiest man and I probably have too big an ego.
by esoria
Wed Oct 11 2000I have not had good experiences with Suave. When I buy the 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner it doesn't leave my hair soft. The hairspray also isn't very helpful- it doesn't hold hair very long.
