Tue Aug 24 2010I'm a fan. More like an overly excited occasional patron.

Mon Aug 02 2010Not so much. It's pretty much a complete waste of money. The first time I went to a strip club was in high school, because it was the place to be. The club didn't id, so you'd have a bunch of 17 year old kids talking about 'Brandy' or whoever. I hate to say it, but my last time at a strip club was last year. It was in Toledo, OH of all places. I think the only reason I went is because my friend paid, and there was nothing else to do.... and he said the funniest thing: 'this is the best I can do.' In Toledo, he just may be right.

Wed Oct 07 2009Not a lot of "pleasure" and zero "guilt". Sure, some of them have some REALLY hot dancers, but lots of em don't.Even if they are attractive, the fact that they're doing it for money and in front of a bunch of other guys is always in the back of my mind.Incidentally, every summer I camp with 4 or 5 really cute, intelligent and extremely nice young ladies who happen to be "exotic dancers".They are NOT sleazy, gold digging, dope addicted prostitutes like the stereotype promotes. They are doing the job that allows them to pay their bills. Two of them are in college, and one is a single mom.If you DO indulge in these clubs, have some respect for the women there,or you may meet the 6 foot 3, 295lb bouncer who will teach you a badly needed lesson about "manners".

Wed May 13 2009Nobody ever mistook me for a prude or a bluenose, but "strip clubs" never appealed to me, not even as a horny, drink-guzzlin' teenager who wasn't exactly a suave "ladies' man" type. The thought of being part of a gawking crowd of sweaty, drink-dazed, horny losers (a stereotype, true, but that's how I thought of it back in the day) surrounding a bored, siliconed lady trying to pay rent by gyrating around a pole in the nude always depressed me. The few times I have been at these places (with friends or co-workers who were obviously more into them than I was), the women have worked like fanatical telemarketers or televangelists to relieve me of "tip money" or offer me a "lap dance" when all I wanted to do was drink in peace. Once, one of them unbuttoned my shirt as I drank, rubbed my chest, and then rubbed her head in my crotch, which did make me momentarily re-think my aversion to such places. A few years ago, I was best man for a friend of mine who was getting married--- my friend was,... Read more

Wed May 13 2009Wasn't that impressed... it's almost silly. It's a conundrum because people go to strip clubs because they're horny. Then they have a beautiful, naked woman tease them and take their money. Then they go home hornier than ever. Makes no sense, not to mention, they're seedy operations.

Wed May 13 2009Not so much. There is a right of passage side to it for young adult males, I guess. I think the only times I've gone have been for bachelor parties and sports team wind-ups. The sleazy atmosphere of most of them is a turn off, but I have seen them done right with a vintage burlesque feel. I don't imagine the industry will survive the internet.

Mon May 19 2008Strip clubs definitely come to mind when "Las Vegas" is brought up. Although I have never been to one, I know there are a wide variety in the city.

Wed Apr 30 2008Mixed bag. . .I saw the last of Nolan Ryan's no-hitters while in one (great night) and it's the only acceptable place left to smoke cigars. But after one or two, I do bore quickly. . .and those DJ's are all bred from the same lab in Sweden- black-curly-haired guys with bad t-shirts who play Rob Zombie and Motley Crue all night. . .

Wed Apr 30 2008I don't hate them, but I get bored awfully quickly. And it's not about victimization - I find the patrons far more depressing than the employees.

Wed Apr 04 2007Haven't been in one in at least a decade. Certainly never felt guilty about going to one, but never found them very compelling. Watching the guys who make sure they sit up in "gynecology row" at the edge of the stage is usually a more entertaining study of humanity.
