Sun May 23 2010Umm where do I start, parking is difficult, the long line sucks, crammed in like sardines, and drinks are way overpriced. Other than that, a great time. I dont see myself going back here. The place is nice and people are pretty but other than that, not my shtick.

Sun Aug 16 2009Not recommended without a vip pass. Ridiculous dress code, I'm a very stylish guy I never ever got turndown, for wearing boots! Are you kidding me.. The doormen asked to lift my jeans up and said they don't allow timberline shoes in! First of all I would never wear them if they were given to me for free! Idiot they were harly Davidson boot they cost more then your whole outfit put together. Know your fashion sense before you guys turn people down.

Mon Mar 02 2009I've been to a few clubs downtown. And everywhere else. In my opinion, $20 cover is ridiculous...way too packed,no room to dance...ambience was good, the entertainment was good. we were there when a drummer was doing his interpretation of hip hop...it was entertaining. tri-level was cool. They also have VIP area overlooking dance floor. So, if you plan on going VIP this is a good place...you'd have your own dance floor and you could watch everyone else in the "mosh pit" :)

Sun Jan 25 2009This is a great place to hang out with friends and meet new friends. The drinks were nicely poured but I do wish that they carried Le Tourment absinthe. It's good either straight up or mixed, they need get some now!

Tue Jan 13 2009This place is nice, but once they start letting people in they jam pack the place. I've gone twice and had a girl step on my foot because there is no room on the dance floor. The second time my cousin almost got into a fight with a guy because he was trying to create more room to dance by bumping her off and over. Besides having a small dance floor the music is bad. Maybe it was just the DJ that night, but he never played any songs long enough even to try to get into a rhythm, it was just 1 min. of a bad dance song to the next. Upstairs in refreshing, but again too crowded. If you want to dance and enjoy yourself this place gets way too crowded.

Thu Mar 20 2008There is really nothing good I have to say about Stingaree. The music is no good. Drinks are overpriced, the bartenders are rude. Therefore, there is no need for them to charge a cover of $20. There people that show up there are lame too.

Wed Aug 08 2007I love this place. my favorite spot is the tables above the dance floor. It is great people watching. Staff is friendly and the roof top is great for socializing!! Always have fun here & meet fun people!

Sat May 19 2007I celebrated by 30th birthday rooftop at Stingaree recently and it was ultimately a great experience. The initial coordination and planning was a challenge so we were a little concerned with how the night would turn out but, to our pleasant surprise the night was a huge success! The staff was very attentive and professional. The rooftop ambience was awesome. The Kobe Sliders were amazing!! The cupcakes were a disappointment... If you get there early enough, you can take advantage of Happy Hour prices which are a great value and help offset some of the other costs like the cabana bottle service. If you get bottle service via a rooftop cabana and decide to go to the dance floor, be warned that the bouncers might not let you back up to the cabana you paid for for the entire evening. Overall, it wasn't inexpensive but it was worth it...an evening I will never forget!!

Sun Mar 11 2007My friends and i came here last saturday night for our friend's 21st birthday. We decided to have dinner here at Stingaree because having dinner here would takle care of the $20 cover charge. All appetizers were $19 and all entrees were $35. The steak was delicious, but small in portions. Our waitress did not check our ID's as we ordered or drinks for dinner. If she did, she would have known earlier that it was our friend's 21st bday. After ordering desert, she found this out and comp'd one of our deserts instead. Also, one of our friends that sat at another table did not get served for nearly 20 minutes. They comp'd their first round of drinks instead. As for the decor inside Stingaree, i was very very impressed. Water falls inside as you walk in for dinner. The second floor had a line for a specific bar section, not sure why. And lastly a large rooftop bar. As for the music, DJ Fashen was simply "awful". The tracks he chose would have people dancin' for about 10 minutes... Read more

Sun Feb 11 2007The music was okay and different in all three floors...and you run into different sections in each floor....so, its not just three floors of music, its three floors with different rooms and different themed-decorations....luckily we got in the VIP list by making reservations and cover fee was only $10...the wait wasn't too long but we were able to get in and out...we went early, got stamped, did some bar hopping and came back to dance...

Thu Feb 08 2007In Short The ever-packed tri-level nightclub is more than just DJs and party people. Chef Antonio Friscia has created a foodie-friendly menu, too, for the first-floor restaurant space. Retro-modern booth "pods" outline the dining room, with a few four-tops in front of the downstairs bar. The upscale menu, which ranges from foir gras and porcini raviloi to shrimp cocktail and steak frites, changes often depending on the freshest available seafood and produce.

Tue Nov 07 2006Good idea for a nightclub, definitely like the idea of having 3 levels. The only problem is that it gets WAY too crowded and it's hard to hear each other or move around. The dance floor is too small also, and turns into a mess of people. But they make their drinks really good, and if you know a promoter who can put you on a list it's quick to get in!

Wed Oct 25 2006This is definetly the place to see and be seen!! I love everything about this place especially the rooftop. There are always good looking people there. I don't like that fact that the cover is like $20 or something, that is ridiculous. The bar on the rooftop is always packed and it will take you a while before you are able to get a drink. but overall its the hottest spot in San diego

Thu Jul 20 2006In Short Pulsing, tri-level restaurant/nightclub with rooftop cabanas, fire pits and exclusive VIP vibe brings hot Miami and Las Vegas-style nightlife to the heart of the Gaslamp. A mezzanine level above the main dance floor boasts white, designer sofas and a great view of partiers dancing below, while the roof offers high roller-types a chance to mingle with San Diego's elite night crawlers. Dinner menu changes often with seasonal ingredients from Chino Farms and local seafood.
