Sat Dec 11 2004An excellent official in any sport is never noticed while performing his duties. Steve Smoger looks for the limelight. He's always trying to get everyone to notice him. An example is just before the end of a round he gets real close to the fighters and I'm waiting for that great day when he gets belted by one of the boxers when he does that. He is a terrible boxing official. Maybe he should take up officiating volleyball. The crowd wouldn't notice him because there's never a crowd.
