The "Brady Bunch" of the '90s, with a different twist -- two single parents marry (each with three kids) forming a blended family of eight (later nine, with baby Lilly), then the step-siblings learn to get used to each other, with plenty of wisecracks for one another, eventually learning to accept their situation. The actors and actresses were talented playing the parts of believable characters. The air-headed (but well-meaning) nephew Cody (Sasha Mitchell) was the funniest character. My favorite Cody-ism is when he found a Canadian quarter, and made the remark that he would need to "go to 'Canadia' to spend it'".

Suzanne Sommers is such an annoying b***tch, I liked the girls and Cody here, instead of the naseating parents. Angela Watson , what a super hottie!!! She was the main reason I watched this show.

This show was bearable. More bearable than full house, or family matters. Cody could be annoying, and when he left they replaced him with that annoying french guy. The only reason i watched it was for Al. Who would have known that she would grow up to be the hottest girl on the show. For her alone, was the reason for me to watch it.

I don't know how we watched this crap, I was young and still managed to realize that most of the episodes had at least one part in the plot that was stolen, if not the whole plot. I used to watch nick at nite frequently at that age, and if anyone thinks the writing was even halfway creative and/or original I suggest you do the same.

Enjoyable family show. Kind of like the Brady Bunch except the kids fought with each other a lot and liked to insult each other. However, underneathe they did care about one another. I liked the Lambert kids better than the Fosters. That one girl is so conceited and stuck on herself. That girl that played Dana ( Staci Keanan) was okay except she was a little over bearing and always had to be perfect at everything. The Lamberts were the exact opposite. Not the brightest bunch in the group but a little more likable and funny. The cousin, Cody Lambert is about as bright as a burnt out light bulb and could be annoying at times .However, He can't help it if he is a doofus. He is always hitting on Dana who of course won't give him the time of day. All in all I think this is pretty good. It does teach some values and is suitable for the entire family.

A TGIF classic! One of the many greats on abc! I personally loved this show, and still tape it everyday! Of course all of these shows are cliche's, but, that's what we watch with our families to help them grow up to be good adults, and have good morals, and happy endings of their own! 5 Full Stars!

I have never seen a more cliched tv family than the one in step by sstep. the show was by no means bad, but the corny family themes and happy endings get old real fast. It would have been funny and interesting if at least one episode didnt conclude with a loving, smiling family. Still, it had it's moments, andfor that I give step by step credit.

Great funny show, nothing to do with the Brady Bunch. Suzanne is as sexy as she was in Threes Company, (and smarter) Funny story lines.

I love watching reruns of this show. President -X-D doesn't know what's funny. I agree with straitlove. Cody was great. Unfortunately, he left the show (I don't know if they gave a reason why), and Bronson Pinchot joined the cast as Jean-Luc. Big mistake by Miller-Boyett. Mr. Pinchot was fabulous as Balki Bartalkamous on Perfect Stranger, but I didn't like him in this role. I loved the kids, and each one is/was a fine actor. I especially loved J.T., Dana, Karen & Al. I thought that Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Somers were hilarious. However, Cody is the man!

OK OK, I know the show was kinda unrealisstic and cheesy, but it still was a family show, and it tried to do good. And I still think we need more shows like this.

Hey, there's that cute girl from My Two Dads! Wait! This show isn't even as funny as My Two Dads! Retch. Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Somers landed this gig to save their careers for another few years; guess it worked. Another putrid sitcom brought to you by Miller-Boyett.

I tried this out with the family a few times. I never could get into it. this is basically a "Brady bunch" Copy cat. A dad with three kids{two boys and a girl} marries a woman with three kids{two girls and one boy}.and make a family. Only these kids are a lot more smart mouthed.I did not find any of the kids appealing.Especially her daughters.who were especially concieted and nasty.thank goodness my kids did not care for this either so we did not get stuck watching it.I can see why this show is at the bottom of the list it deserves it.

What an awful show! Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Somers are two awful actors who deserve to be together on one of the worst shows ever made. If anybody over the age of eighteen rated this show highly, I would be surprised.

Loved when I was younger, haven't seen it in a very long time. Some characters were fun. Cody was hilarious, the show picked up when they added him. And it was always fun watching J T and Dana fight.

It could be pretty cheesy and corny at times, but I still liked it. It's one of the few "kid-coms" that I find watchable. I definitely don't think it should be considered a classic show.
