Mon Jan 25 2010I hired Statewide Van Lines to help with a relocation from RI to AZ. My final bull was 94% more than what I was quoted (TWICE AS MUCH)!!! So much for the BBB. I took the A- BBB rating that Jim Alexander flaunted a little too seriously. Worse yet, after my horrible experience with State Wide Van Lines, the BBB said they wouldn't adjust the rating, even though that was my only desired resolution. Instead I have to go to all these sites and add my review to warn you all of this company! Jim was super nice in the beginning during the quoting process. His quote of course turned out to be ~1/2 of my final cost. Because the price is based on weight, he didn't notify me that I had the option to fill out an inventory list to get a more accurate quote, until AFTER I was slapped with the true weight of my belongings. Of course by then you're bound by contract. The movers themselves did a decent job except for the fact that they packed a bunch of things we didn't want shipped, which cost ... Read more

Tue Dec 29 2009What a great moving company. To any who is planning to move to another state - call them today! I received my estimate over the phone and the guy - his name is Jim - made me feel so secure about the upcoming move. He asked me a lot of details, which made his quote so precise. They were on time and worked very well together. Not only they wrapped all the big furniture, but also helped me finish packing clothes and books. And the price came to about what I was quoted over the phone! No-surprise smooth move with a friendly and professional crew. I recommend them to anyone and will use them again for my future move.

Mon Oct 05 2009I hired Statewide Van Lines to move me from Maryland to Massachusetts because I read some reviews of them online - and they were mostly positive. I did have my concerns, but moving with some large well-known moving company was out of the question for me - their prices are way more than I could afford. Besides my furniture is rather ordinary for the exception of a few fancy items like a brand new 52'' TV. These guys were awesome! They pack professionally and load with extreme care. Everything arrived in the same condition as it was before the move. No delays, friendly movers, affordable pricing. The driver was Russian - a very nice guy named Roman, he helped me with the contracts because there are too many to fill out. Will use them again without doubts.

Wed Aug 26 2009I used Statewide Van Lines for my move from New York to Texas two months ago. It was a very smooth moving experience. The movers arrived on time and helped me finished my packing, I have three kids and needless to say that I have a lot of stuff that needed to be boxed up. The movers were so friendly, they joked with my kids, and this created such a positive atmosphere and took away at least some of my stress. They wrapped up all my big furniture pieces in moving blankets. It was a big job - packing and loading took almost 9 hours!!! And the movers only took 1 half-hour lunch break. Those are really strong and hard-working guys, they did a terrific job - no damages or lost items, and I made sure to tip them accordingly.
