Sat Sep 19 2009Our Yacht Star cruise was disappointing due to false advertisement -- no dancing and no suitable music -- malfunctioning equipment. The price, incomparison to the food or entertained was not sufficient. The facility was clean and well-maintained; thus, the service attendant was pleasant. Unfortunately, due to the total bill and services rendered, at this time I would not recommend this particular ship to friends or family members.

Mon Sep 07 2009My husband and I went on the yacht starship for our anniversary. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and thought the food was excellent. I had a shrimp appetizer that I still to this day remember(and its been over a year ago). I tell everyone I know about what an enjoyable experience I had. I am planning to go next weekend with my husband, brother and his wife. I read the other reviews and I didn't have any of the problems they described. I hope that things haven't changed since last year. I also remember parking in a lot right beside the ship. I had a great evening and with the discount this month it is really a great opportunity to have a memorable evening.

Fri Sep 05 2008The staff, the food and the scenery made for a truly splendid evening. Greeted by a truly professional staff and treated like royalty from the moment we arrived, until the moment we disembarked. The food was worthy of comment, I had the Salmon and it was fantastic, my wife had the spinach ravioli and enjoyed it as well. We started with an order of the "Fire Island Shrimp" and it was not only very tasty, it was done in a way that I hadn't tried before. I would recommend Dinner on the Starship for any special evening, or just a night away from it all. If you like good food and excellent service, you will love this dinner cruise!!!

Fri May 09 2008WE {PARTY OF 7} WENT ON THE LUNCH CRUISE- AND IT WAS A NIGHTMARE. THE UGLY SPANISH WOMAN AT THE ENTRY DESK WAS VERY RUDE! OUR TABLE WAS BROKEN AS WAS THE FLOOR AND 2 OF US ALMOST FELL TRYING TO SIT DOWN. I ASKED THAT WE BE MOVED AND AFTER 15 MIN. OF WAITING I WENT OUT TO THE UGLY WOMAN.- AND TOLD HER OUR PROBLEM. THEY DID MOVE US TO A DIFFERENT DINIG ROOM--THAT WAS WORSE THEN THE ORIGINAL. AS WE WERE ORDERING-MISS UGLY CAME TO OUR TABLE AND SAID IN A VERY RUDE VOICE--I ALMOST DIDN'T ALLOW YOU TO GO ON THIS CRUISE! OH PLEASE-SCARY LADY--YOU WOULD OF DONE US ALL A FAVOR BY ASKING US ALL TO LEAVE! NOT ONLY WAS THE FOOD HORRIBLE-IT TOOK FOREVER TO GET IT. WE WERE NOT OFFERED DESSERT AND THEN THEY CHARGED US A 18% GRATTUITY -PLUS $4.00 PER DRINK THAT WE WERE NOT TOLD ABOUT! SO ON TOP OF THE TICKET PRICE WE SHELLED OUT ANOTHER $52 -PLUS $5 TO PARK FOR A DAY OF TORTURE! SO SAVE YOURSELF SOME GRIEF AND MONEY AND GO ON THE SHOW QUEEN IN CLEARWATER OR THE AQUARIUM ECO TOUR BEHIND THE AQUARIUM ... Read more

Sat Aug 11 2007We had a great evening on board. I was served the Mahi Mahi and the flavor was incredible. My girlfriend was served the Filet Mignon and to be honest it was not the best filet i have ever had, however i guess its kinda hard to get a 1500 degree broiler, like most steakhouses use, on a dining yacht. I would have given starship five stars but the valets at channelside were completely rude to my girlfriend and myself, but i guess they cant really control what another company does.Overall the entire evening was very romantic and we have reccomended it to our friends and family.

Fri Jul 13 2007Don't expect much from the wedding coordinators. You will still have to do all the footwork for your wedding yourself. Also don?t trust what they tell you about dinner prices for the children. We were told we would be refunded the difference and after the wedding they never returned our calls. Also there is no parking. My oldest relatives were made to walk from the parking garage all the way to the boat. The valet parking in front of the boat refused to allow guests of the Starship to park in their parking lot. Even I, "the groom" and they weren't going to let the bride be allowed in either. They expected the Bride to walk across the dirty parking lot while in her dress. Maybe since the Starship doesn't have a short supply of customers they have come accustomed to treating them what ever way suites them.

Mon May 21 2007We were very excited to attend the mothers day brunch cruise on the Lady of Tampa Bay - nice Sunday cruise and a good food spread on one of the Yacht Starship boats... until about 3 to 4 hours after we got home. That's when the vomitting started. I really tried to think if my 7 month pregnant wife and I got the flu at almost exactly the same time, however, we weren't that unlucky. Luckily to my mother in law and 15 month old daughter did not have the pork. At least that's what we think we tracked it down to (or possibly a shared dessert). You know, mistakes happen, food preparation can sometimes be trickey, and I really tried to give the 'executive offices' a chance to call me back after leaving a message - but to no avail. I never complain to restaurants, but 24 hours of pure hell for my wife and I, I thought was worthy of a refund. Thanks for not calling us back Yacht Starship. I will now go out of my way to not recommend your dinner cruise to anyone in the Bay area - unles... Read more

Sun Jan 09 2005In Short Enjoy tangerine sunsets and skyline views aboard this gently-rocking 180-foot yacht. Well-dressed patrons board this dinner cruise (lunch, too) to experience the ultimate in luxury--from the coat-tailed waiters to the live orchestral music to the fine cuisine. Salty sea air whets the appetite for hand-carved beef tenderloin with garlic mashed potatoes napped with wild mushroom demiglace, grilled swordfish brushed with tomato-caper beurre blanc and fresh, handmade desserts.
