Thu Feb 17 2011I love's me some java, have all my life. I love the rich taste, the aroma, everything! However, their plain black coffee could be used to tar a road. I like coffee, but man, this is to the extreme!!

Tue Nov 23 2010The coffee is OK but it's highly overpriced for what it is. I've also ordered coffee from them and it was full of grinds at the bottom of the cup! I made sure to get one of their free drink cupons or have them make me another drink. Unfortunately in many areas if you go out for coffee your choices are either overpriced Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts' weak coffee. I can make a better cup of coffee at home or get one for less money at 7-11. The staff can be very rude. I once got into a car accident at night outside of a Starbucks and I wanted a cup of water to drink and calm myself down. The b!tchy woman behind the counter got mad that I just asked for water and didn't order coffee. When I go to Starbucks since I've been there on dates and friends will go there when we go for coffee I get a short sized coffee that's 8oz and not nearly as expensive as their small/tall coffee is. Wed Jul 07 2010Dont like it. The smell is dull, prices are high, and service seems to be getting worse.

Sat Mar 13 2010Good coffee but rarely get it from there anymore because of their high prices. Don't drink much coffee anyway.

Sun Jan 17 2010... is half-skim double-latte frappacino some kind of ice-cream sundae?

Wed Sep 16 2009Starbucks is like crack for the middle-class. It's cheaper, legal, and tastes better than any drug out there. All kidding aside, I've never been unhappy with the quality of coffee that comes from Starbucks. The only downside is because of the recession, they have greatly scaled down the variety of flavors you can buy. It's down to the basics, but it's not all bad. Better to have it scaled down then shut down. I hear they are market-testing a new spin-off company in Seattle by bringing alcohol to the menu. Being a huge fan of both alcohol and coffee and sometimes even putting them together (Baileys n coffee), this marketing idea is causing me great excitement and anticipation. We can only hope this new idea takes off despite the failed economy. Take my house, take my job, take my pride, but leave my Starbucks coffee!!!

Thu Aug 27 2009I worked for them as a Barrista in DC while living in a Half-Way House in 2007.I was let go because I could not attend a Christmas meeting which was held on a Friday Nite-and I am an Orthodox observant Jew who would not compromise my Sabbath to attend this meeting. They knew fully well my religious convictions when they hired me.Shame on Schultz & his staff!

Sat Jul 25 2009When I go here I don't get a coffee with all the frills. Just and iced, black americana with as many expresso shots as possible. It truely is coffee with that strong kick and flavor I've always longed for.

Sat Jul 25 2009Its only ok coffee. They used to be a lot better about 15 years or more ago. Now there are so many it seems like they are the McDonalds of the coffee world. Everybody flocks to them anyway even though there are so many places that serve better coffee. Probably the same crowd that thinks Corona is a good beer.

Sun Jul 05 2009I would have to agree that it is way over rated. I don't like the plain coffee it's too strong and it doesn't really help to dilute it. I have started drinking the caramel frappuccino. It does taste pretty good that way. You will find if someone buys you one of the more expensive drinks it probably tastes better. I find the workers to have a put on attitude to try and get tips that is annoying. If there was somewhere else I might go elsewhere. If you need to sit down somewhere if there is room it isn't that bad. I get kind of annoyed at people who like it so much and show their cups around. I wouldn't turn it down on the free days. The store in Seattle is better. They say the people that make it put in too much. It has a lot to do with that. In Phoenix you also get the sour milk that really helps it. I am usually a sucker for coffee from different countries too but really there is not much difference.

Fri Jun 26 2009Man, I love this very distinctive and very powerful coffee, and I love that you can sometimes smell it from blocks away. I don't even mind listening to the ridiculously long and particular drink orders while I'm waiting in line. It's like a different, but strangely beautiful language.

Fri Jun 19 2009Too expensive. Tastes burnt.
by mnkys123
Fri Jun 19 2009there are wayyyyy better coffee shops out there in the world that are less expensive and taste good! Whenever I've tried a black cup of starbucks coffee, its taste burnt and icky. The only thing here that I would spend my money on, maybe once every 4 months, is one of their frozen frappacino drinks. Def hits the spot when needed. Overall, this place is ridiculous.

Thu Jun 18 2009I prefer my coffee without chains and without the same music in every establishment. From looking into the one at the end of my street it looks like a gift store that serves coffee.

Thu Jun 18 2009Convenient, but, I just as Soon go to Racetrac.

Thu Jun 18 2009Way, way overpriced, and why should I need an interpreter just to order a small cop of black coffee? I have friends who like the place, and I'll sometimes go there at their urging, but when I want coffee on my own, I'm perfectly content to buy it at the local 7-11 for a fraction of the price.

Thu Jun 18 2009Marry me Mary Starbuck so I can have you fresh everyday!

Thu Jun 18 2009Comparably priced with other chains, same goes for selection, but they get an extra star for convenience.

Mon Jun 08 2009Starbucks's is the best. They have great coffe, and I love the Moch Frappucino, especially the Mint Mocha Chip Frappucino, which they are currently not selling in my area. The baked goods you can get are pretty good too. Lastly, the service is fantastic, they are relatively fast and are very friendly here. A lot better than Dunkin Donuts.

Sat Apr 25 2009Starsucks not Starbucks, vastly over-rated and overpriced. A visit to any coffeshop in France, Italy or Spain will prove the point. Worst thing about Starsucks? They have taken over the world and places that used to offer good java now imitate the Starsucks taste so that its getting harder and harder to find the good stuff. Better then a Walgreens lunch counter but not by much.

Wed Oct 15 2008Way overpriced and the coffee always tastes like it's burnt. All that pretentious barrista nonsense is enough to make you puke. I dislike that walking into those places is subjecting yourself to relentless marketing shills. And what I find particularly barfsome is all the yuppie and hipster wannabes hanging out in those places for hours, as if they were lounging about their living rooms. Don't these people have apartments or houses for that? And, finally, how much of that poison can one possibly drink?

Wed Oct 15 2008Starbucks has always been good. I'm not much of a coffee-guy but it's good when I go. Downside-expensive as most people would probably agree
by doctor_of_madness
Tue Oct 14 2008While the idea of Starbucks doesn't appeal to me (the odd lingo, extremely fussy customers and lame, self indulgent quotes on the cups), the fact is that I can go there with $2 and get a cup of high quality, good tasting coffee.

Thu Sep 11 2008Good strong coffee but overpriced.

Sat Sep 06 2008Have you ever been to a slaughter house and seen the long lines of cows going in? One cow follows the other (the most popular) so they think they are getting somthing good. be smarter people they got beat 6 out of 6 test by Mcdonalds. and they were beat by Yuban. wakee wakee and go smell some real coffee at a local coffe house its generaly fresher and better for the place you live. dont believe me taste them side by side uncuped with an open pallet. and if you can think for yoursef you will find that you are smarter than a heffer led to slaughter. -5 stars for community, -5 stars for coffee, -5 stars for preditory marketing, -5 stars for what they do to family owend shops, -5 stars for origonality, +25 stars for convincing the masses that Crapaccinos are a real drink. so thats a total of a BIG ZERO

Sun Aug 31 2008Almost everything I get there tastes like someone mixed in ground cigarette butts into their coffee.

Sun Aug 24 2008For the price of a large cup, you can buy a bag of ground coffee that'll last you a month. As for heavy drinkers like me, say, about a week..

Mon Aug 18 2008For hot coffee, I prefer going to coffee shacks/stands. They're cheaper, faster, and have similar qualities. I also prefer their italian sodas over Starbucks'. However, as far as frappuccinos go... Nobody can beat Starbucks! My favorite is and always will be the bananas'n'cream. Their food is also pretty good, as well. I really enjoy how you dine on decent plates with decent utensils. You don't usually find that at other coffee places. It's not only that, but I also enjoy the ambience. I particularly favor Starbucks in airports and book stores. You can find a variety of people at these locations and it makes it nice to meet new people. I've had great conversations with some very interesting people. However, I do think that they are pretty expensive. Then again where I live, most things are.

Fri Aug 15 2008It's a good way to connect with people, even if you don't drink coffee. They have other options that have extreme drinkability.
