Sun Feb 14 2010The Stage has everything a native, or tourist, could want from a Nashville Honkey Tonk! I go every Wednesday from 3pm to 6pm to see the amazing Sarah Montgomery and the Patch Work Band play and hang out with the Awesome Bar Tender Casey. She'll be the gorgeous blonde serving drinks to the customers and getting up on stage to sing some Miranda Lambert every now and then. Come on over and hang out with us some time!

Thu Jun 25 2009I've never been treated so poorly, by a person making a living on tips, before I set foot in this bar. Let me start by stating that I was a bartender before and throughout my college years (just graduated) and I knew how to treat customers so that they would enjoy their time, and I ALSO knew how to ensure that I was left a nice tip. Apparently Casey (was that that blonde's name?) didn't quite grasp that concept. Would you consider a driver's license far more valid than a government-issued military identification card? I wouldn't... but this idiot did... and treated me like I was a child trying to sneak a few drinks. There isn't much information on both the front AND the back of this type of ID, but the bartender 'read' it for nearly one and a half minutes. When she was done, she demanded that I give her my driver's license so that she could compare the two. Almost another minute went by before she LITERALLY flicked them back to me across the bar. Now, people.. like I said,... Read more

Mon Mar 31 2008It was a nice, comfortable bar. The live music was great. They have a large area for dancing if one desires. It seems this place has more of the "above average" talented bands performing here. The beer was a little expensive though ($4.00 just for a Pabst). I didn't stay too long.....just had one beer and watched the band.

Sun Jan 13 2008I went in on Friday night with my boyfriend to have a few drinks. We weren't there long before someone grabbed my butt. My boyfriend laughed and told him to go on. That same person grabbed for my breast. I was shocked. My boyfriend asked the bartender if they allowed this kind of behavior and she said she would get someone to take care of it. The next thing I knew my boyfriend and I were being thrown out. Once outside, we were told that the person (and I use that term loosely) is good friends with the door guy. I couldn't believe it. Don't go unless your friends with the door man because you could be next on his list.

Sun Apr 29 2007This place is almost always packed and they usually have good bands. I always drop in for a few drinks when I'm downtown and it's a good time. IF you don't like crowds, this place aint for you. Most of the time there's a line waiting to get in. You never know who's gonna show up though, and that's always cool.

Sun Oct 22 2006Great bands that play popular covers. A mixed crowd, college students to 50 year olds. No cover charge. The line can be pretty long Thursday through Saturday.

Mon Jul 24 2006In Short This super-sized honky-tonk is a staple of Music City nightlife. Giant wall mural, running the length of the room, pays proper respect to country legends of the past and a well-stocked bar brings in fans of newbies. The spacious atmosphere means that the bands are a bit bigger and a bit louder and often times than those you'll find at neighboring establishments. Come with a big group and don't fret about finding seats for everyone.

Thu Jul 06 2006I was recently in Nahville and friends took me to The Stage. What an evening. The service was excellent and the band Jackson Hill was fantastic. They have an amazing blend of country, southern rock and good ole rock and roll. Not at all what I expected out of Nashville but it was a great night. I am a non smoker and bars sometimes get so bad you can't get any fesh air. This place made me very comfortable although folks were smoking. I will be sure to get there my next trip to Nashville if Jackson Hill is in town.

Sun Jun 25 2006What a night of good ol' fashion country rockin' and stompin'. Made it in and saw a new young singer named Lewis Copeland; what a great singer and entertainer! If you're in Nashville, stop in The Stage and if your lucky, they may have Copeland playing again. Great Place!

Mon May 01 2006This is probably the most exciting place on Broadway. First time there it was great!! The band was good, beer was cold, people were fun. The next time we were there we saw and heard Jackson Hill perform. They were absolutely fantastic. We have seen and heard them now 5 times and can't get enough. Their music, whether country or rock is the best. The bar has an atmosphere unmatched by any other. Fun, exciting and something to look forward to again.

Wed Apr 05 2006All i can say is I have had the true Nashville experience right at The Stage on Broadway. This place undoubtedly has some of the greatest upcoming stars. I'd have to say that the best live music I've ever heard came that night from Mitchell Oglesby and his band. THIS GUY CAN SING! I found his website after doing some googling. http://www.mitchelloglesby.net. Everyone in the bar had a great time dancing and listening to the great country music. I couldn't believe how friendly everyone was and the bartenders were great. If you're looking for the true nashville experience, then this place is THE BEST!

Sun Mar 19 2006You are guaranteed to have a good time at the stage. It was the first place we went we got there. An awesome band called Raisin' Cain was playing when we walked it at 4pm and we sat there and listened to them for a couple hours. We went back another night and another awesome band was playing!!!!

Sat Mar 04 2006I love this bar! It is my favorite place to visit in NashVegas! I do not go to Nashville without partying at The Stage! My first time in the Stage was New Years Eve, I stood in line for 2 hours! It was so worth it! However I did make a special trip to Nashville on a Wednesday night (to the stage) and they would not let me in. I was told it was a private show for Joe Nichols. I partyed with Joe a few nights later and he said if only he had known!

Tue Feb 21 2006Adam Wayde turns the already off the chart The Stage into an incredible mix of Country, Rock and crowd loving entertainment and interaction. This Nashville soon to be Country Super Star shakes the rafters and lines them up down the block waiting to get in the door. At the bar Sonny and the girls take impeccable care of all who come to The Stage and leave everyone wanting more they rule bar and no one waits for service as they are always watching for your thirst needs to be filled. Don't forget the bar in the back. At The Stage everyone is a VIP! Great Job we love this bar!

Fri Jan 20 2006I came to visit from Wilkesboro NC, and had a blast. Third Wheel is great on Friday, the drinks were probably too good, and the bartenders...WOW!!! I'm not one to usually hit on them, but how could someone resist. Chy, Kim, and Sabrina all together on a Friday night...it should be illegal! They're awesome and damn good at what they do. I would tell anyone to go to the Stage. ALL the workers are awesome, not just the bartenders. you can really tell that there's a friendship between them. They are one big happy family, and they make all of their customers feel like they are a part of it!!!

Sat Jan 14 2006Since moving to Nashville about 6 months ago I've found myself to be at The Stage pretty regularly. I went the first time kicking and screaming. It didn't take long for me to join in, start dancing around like an idiot, and fall in love with the place. The music is great and Thrid Wheel's two new guitarists rule. The place gets a bit crowded on the weekends and if theres a line, go to the the back door. Despite the crowd its not terribly hard to get drinks, and having a couple helps. The people are great, and there are litterally all ages of there. Don't be suprised if you see a grandma or two out there tearin up the dance floor, but its still packed with (usually really hot) twenty-somethings. I love it and take everyone who visits there and the never want to leave.

Fri Oct 07 2005I'm hooked! Been watching THIRD WHEEL at The Stage on Wed. and Fri nights now for quite some time and let me just say those boys know how to put on a SHOW! High-energy, awesome harmonies, and great song selection make them the best act I've seen in years! These guys are going somewhere - mark my words! I only wish they played more often! Great service at The Stage, too. Everyone's always so friendly. Best atmosphere on Broadway - no doubt about it!

Sun Sep 18 2005My first time to Nashville. Loved this bar. We were there late on a Sunday night and the bar was hoppin'. The band Southern Edge was playing. EXCELLENT!!!! they played a variety music which kept the dance floor movin'! Highly recommend checking out the band!

Mon Sep 05 2005The Stage happened to be on the list of spots to hit when I was on a recent trip to Nashville, and after a few minutes in this spacious energetic bar I didn't want to leave! The music was great all night long, and there was plenty of room to grab a seat, or hit the dance floor.

Mon Jul 11 2005The Stage is awesome. My friend and I had hit all the places on Broadway one night and were getting ready to leave..went for a potty stop and heard the band Jackson Hill!! We didn't leave til they closed the place. If you get a chance and you like southern rock with just enough blues and some kick ass rock thrown in for flavor you will not be disappointed. I have made a point to come back everytime they are in the house. Thursday and Sunday nights 11pm til close.

Fri Jun 17 2005This is a place for fraternity boys and girls who want to be with them. Not authentic Nashville at all. A bad addition to Broadway.

Tue Mar 22 2005A friend & I drove to Nashville from Dayton, OH for a concert and stayed just one night. We went to The Stage after the concert for a drink, to hear some good music. I have to tell you I didn't think of much after getting a big smile from Jason at the door. The bar was probably great but I ended up spending most of my time just outside the front door. I plan to go back and not chicken out at the last minute sometime this summer. I'll try to pay more attention to the actual bar next time.

Sat Aug 14 2004We were visiting Nashville for a few days and went to almost all the bars on broadway. We ended up at The Stage on thursday night and liked it so much we went back on Saturday. The bad was so great. The bar is a smoking bar , but they seem to control the smoke better than other bars. Love that bar!

Sun Jul 25 2004I went to The Stage on Friday, July 16, 2004. I had lots of fun there. This was my first time to Nashville, and I can't wait to go back. That night Mitchell Oglesby was Playing, My sister, Melissa Lea sang with Mitchell's band, Shelly West, and Third Wheel. My mother, sister and I all had a great time! I'll be back in August! I can't wait!

Tue Oct 14 2003We were in Nashville for a week and always ended up at the stage. The staff was friendly especially the door man Terry. And the Kameleons were an awesome band. They made it fun to be there. We bought there CD. They were nice and friendly and really got the crowd into it. We loved ya guys. (From your Ohio girls.) I would highly recomend this bar to anyone who likes to dance and have a good time.

Sun Apr 06 2003Josh Brister and his Band is wonderful. If you go in there once you will definately go again and spread the word to go back. He is one of the best, newest talents yet to be discovered. Come on out and cheer him on.

Sun Dec 15 2002The stage on Broadway was the best bar in Nashville without question. I found myself there every night during my stay. The best bands a great crowd and awesome bartenders. The only problem I found was that I live too far away to go everynight!

Wed Nov 06 2002Can I tell you what an incredible time I had at the Stage - Julie and Beth were the most beautiful and entertaining bartenders I have ever seen. You have to see these two in action together - its nice to see nice funny girls behind the bar - everyone else on Broadway seems too snotty to even talk to you - their jokes and their friendship was so refreshing. We'll DEFINITELY be back to see them. My friend and I didn't want to be the Norm and Cliff of Nashville, but Cheers girls, we're coming back :)

Fri Sep 27 2002The Stage was the best "oops" I've ever had. My friend and I were in Nashville during its experience with Hurricane Isadore and we were walking up Broadway looking for a place for dinner and heard music coming from the bar that sounded good so we ducked in. There were two guys strumming on guitars - Marty and Mark and we were 2 of probably 4 people who weren't staff in the place (before work let out on a Thursday). The music was excellent and while most of what was played was cover music, the guys mixed it up enough and ad libbed that it made it much more fun. Marty threw out one original song at the end of their set that was so good it prompted me to buy his CD. We only ordered appetizers and they weren't stellar, but the draw is the music.

Sun Jul 14 2002We have visited and revisited The Stage on Broadway from out of state and loved it every time! Entertainment has been great and folks in the club are a mixture of tourists and locals, all of whom were very friendly.
