Tue Jun 22 2010On, off or via satellite campus; the education at St. Leo is one of the best private Catholic educations you can currently enroll. It is a private university, which means the tuition is HIGH so plan accordingly when seeking St. Leo for your degree(s). I would have said that in the early 2000's when St. Leo Online was a part of Univeristy Alliance, it was a questionable school because the people at the University Alliance (i.e. your representative) was all about sales. Different from the University itself so as a consumer: BE CAREFUL. Many students were confused and floundered. St. Leo dropped the University Alliance, which was a good thing, and now its online program is just as academically challenging as being on campus. No matter what accredited 4 year Univeristy you choose, there are Professors you'll like and those you don't. So far, the Professors I have had have been strict and wonderful. Their academic backgrounds have been compatable to other Universities (BA, MBA's and PH.D. g... Read more

Mon Dec 07 2009St Leo sucks! I was taking an online computer classes at St Leo. The rep said the online class was very easy and called it a powderpuff class. I have extensive computer knowledge, except in programminig, and the class started out extremely challenging for a beginner programming class. Not only did the professor not answer emails, I dropped the class as soon as I realized I was in over my head. I arranged to take the class the next semester in a class room format. Lets see the class room was me and a video phone and 2 guys in florida. The teacher did not follow the book, and he said, I show you shortcuts, you dont need to know all this. I got a B. However, I am still being harrassed by St Leo for the 200 dollars that I was supposed to pay for penalty for dropping the class. Well they keep adding interest and now my bill is 800 dollars. They are crooks, I make a payment when I can, but I am a single mother and dont have extra money to pay the extortion fee ST LEO is charging me.

Sat Dec 29 2007I started going to Saint Leo University-COL on September 1st 2003, and I have worked my way up to being a junior (I know slow, but at least I'm going somewhere). I have 67 credit hours with a GPA of 3.111, so certainly not the bottom of the class, and I could have a higher GPA if I was to try harder. The only complaint I would have is it is expensive, however, in my opinion well worth the cost, because I wouldn't be able to deal with classrooms. I enjoy being able to set my own pace and knowing that I am in charge of how good I do. I would recommend St. Leo to anyone that can learn without having a professor in person. Some people aren't cut out to do online courses, but those that are, St. Leo is a great school if they offer a program that you are interested in.

Sat Mar 24 2007I am an Elementary Ed student with Saint Leo University at one of the satelite campuses. Overall my experience with the teachers has rated a 5 out of 5. The instruction has been wonderful. The Academic Advisor has always been willing to listen and she is an exceptional administrator. However, One particular (adjunct) instructor is very limited when it comes to using a computer and her evaluations and comments are not consistant. She does not seem to be able to work with students who have disabilitys. I have had great reveiws up until now and may not graduate because one observer has thrown a wrench in things. It is scary to think that you can work hard for four years only to have one person ruin it for you. I would reccomend anyone taking Elementary Education to think twice about taking it at a satelite campus or at least request an observer who is competent if they are uncomfortable with the person observing them. However, The teachers are outstanding and the instruction and asses... Read more

Fri Apr 16 2004I am now a senior with St. Leo & I don't have any complaints. You never have to be online at any certain time, the amount of work for the most part is not overwhelming, and yet you learn. Because you have to maintain self discipline it causes you to learn more. All tests are open book so that makes it easier. The teachers are very helpful, and the staff is, as well. I would strongly recommend St. Leo
