I tried the version of this product that is labeled specifically for sensitive skin. It felt and looked like I'd taken some sandpaper to my cheeks after I finished using it. This product is simply too abrasive. Beyond that, the cream part of the formula left a film on my skin, but didn't do anything to moisturize it. From other reviews, it sounds like this product may be an okay exfolient if you have normal skin, but use caution if you're like me. My skin was left red, splotchy and painfully irritated for about an hour after using St. Ives Apricot Scrub for Sensitive Skin.

This is a very good scrub for the price. It is abrasive enough to exfoliate but not so much that it irritates your skin which is always a plus. I like the fresh scent, it smells great when you are using it but doesn't linger and stay with you all day. I would classify this one as moderately abrasive so you might want to avoid using it in close proximity to your eyes or other sensitive areas. Considering the price, this product is an excellent value.

I love this apricot scrub. It's super cheap and does a really wonderful job. I find it really useful in extreme weather- hot or cold. It always makes my face feel fresh and smooth without irritating it! Its a great gentle formula.

I really live the St. Ive's Apricot scrub! It smells pretty good and the little tiny microbeads aren't abrasive and don't hurt your skin. It seems to work pretty well too. And it isn't expensive at all!

This has a nice scent and apricot extract is nourishing for the skin. The exfoliant is not as effective as it could be though. It's mainly beads within a gel-like consistency cleanser. If you have normal skin and do not break out often, it is probably a good product for you. However, if you have oily or combination skin, you'd probably prefer something that gives you more exfoliation.

Slimy, chemically, overly abrasive, difficult to wash off. Try mixing generic Cetaphil with superfine sugar (found at your local grocery store). Gently massage into skin, rinse off thoroughly. Better results, cheaper, better for your skin!

I noticed that someone else commented on the Walnut shells. I have seen the actual results of this under a magnified lite. The shells cause tiny cuts to appear on the surface of the skin in just one use. I can always tell when one of my clients use this product because it leaves very distinctive marks. It might help 2 of 3 times, but after that it's just cutting into young healthy skin, causing irritaion. I recommend any product that uses a cornmeal, oatmeal, or ground almondmeal (not shells). You can easily make one at home with ground almonds and honey.

I LOVE THIS APRICOT ST. IVES SCRUB, I CANT LIVE WITHOUT IT, I USE THIS TWICE A WEEK, I ALSO TRIED THE GENTLE FORMULA, THAT IS WONDERFUL ALSO, MAKES MY SKIN SMOOTH AND IN GOOD HEALTH!! SOME PEOPLE CLAIMED THAT IT DESTROYS YOUR SKIN BY CUTTING IT UP FROM THE APRICOT KERNALS, I DONT THINK SO, MY SKIN IS SENSITIVE AND IM ALRIGHT WITH THIS PRODUCT!! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FACIAL SCRUB TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS A GOOD FACIAL, AND A CLEAN FEEL TO ONES COMPLEXION, I HATE THOSE OTHER FACIAL SCRUBS WITH BEADS, JUNK, THOSE DONT EVEN MAKE ME FEEL CLEAN AND REFRESHED,.ST. IVES ONE DOES, THIS ST. IVES SCRUB PRODUCT IS THE BEST IN THE COSMETIC MARKET!!!

Apricot Scrub is the best cleanser produced in the last few years, i live in a hot environment and my skin has the tendancy to get dry and this helps soften my skin by a simple exfoliation. I would highly recommend it.

I would not recommend the scrub that contains ground walnut shells for those with acne-prone skin. At first, it did make my skin feel smoother but ultimately it made my breakouts worse. Later, I learned that the ground walnut shells can create tiny tears in the skin causing irritation and exacerbating blemishes. They make a kind for sensitive skin that contains cornmeal that is a better choice for those with skin problems

It is kind of like a 4 1/2 though. Makes your skin very smooth and soft to the touch. Cleans pores. The only drawback is the invigorating one is kind of harsh.

A bit too harsh for me. Blemishes did not soften and did not heal any better with this harsh exfoliant. I actually read that exfoliants with walnut/ harsh substances should be avoided if you have sensitive/ blemish- prone skin. Maybe b/c of the possibility of opening them up to germs? Not sure but I stopped using this on my face and since I couldn't just throw it out, used it on the rest of my body. It was a great exfoliant on the knees and elbows though! I would try mixing some baking soda with facial cleanser to achieve a gentler exfoliant.

Excellent as a body scrub. Leaves skin soft and smooth, and doesn't stick to the bottom of the tub like more expensive body scrubs.

I normally mix the medicated version of the scrub and mix it in with my regular cleanser and i love it just like a tiny dab mixed in with my phisoderm and the to together practically eliminate the oil in my face and keep it clear

I love this scrub. I use the medicated version, and I have found out it helps my acne while smoothing my skin!! I only use it once a week, but I canstill feel its effects all throughout the week! Leaves my skin feeling really refreshed and glowing. Does what it's advertised to do, and that's why I gave it a five!!

I mix this product with my normal face wash. It gets rid of the makeup and oil at night, and it the morning gives me a perfectly soft and smooth palett to start with. I have never used a better face scrub, and I have tried A LOT. I don't like the medicated version, though. Doesn't moisturize like the normal version, and it only seemed to irritate my acne, as one would assume that scrubbing would do.

I am 21 years old and have crazy combination skin. St. Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub is the best thing I've found. Plus the price is right in the range for a full-time student. I would recommend this product to anyone that needs to prevent and eliminate blemishes and blackhead, without drying out their face. P.S. assthetician, apricot shells are not used in the product, read the back...It specifically lists "juglans mandshurica (walnut) shell powder." Thanks!

Pretty good product. Reduces oil in skin, removes most makeup and takes away old skin cells. Average pricing. Even comes in a convenient soap form that lasts long. Good results for healthy and renewed skin.

I have been using this product for three years. I use it twice a day. My skin is oily so it's usually shiny, but this changes the texture and takes away the shine. I really recommend this because even though it takes away the shine it still moisturizes. It has a good balance. Before I started using this I had a lot of acne also. My skin improved so much, and it also gives your skin a healthy glow.

This is good for making skin smooth by removing dead skin, and it works well. I only gave it a three because a lot of other products work as well as this one. And hey, if you can get it a few bucks cheaper, why not do it?

    Wed Nov 08 2000

This is one of the worst exfoliants you could use, since apricot shells have jagged, rough edges and can cause tearing in your skin. Revoval of dead skin skills should be a more gentle process. Also the word "scrub" implies that one should rub vigorously to the skin, causing overstretching and irritation to the skin.

I used this scrub as an alternative to my current facial scrub and it tended to "rough up" my face. So, I tried using a smaller amount but it wasn't doing the trick, therefore, I think it's OK if it is the only face scrub you can find.

I can't stand this stuff. I totally broke out, and my skin was dry and pasty. A friend of mine loves it though, and uses it every day, so I can't really call it terrible.

I use the medicated version of this product and I like it a lot. It's gritty so that it exfoliates. It's a good complement to the benzoyl peroxide products I already use.

It gets off all the dead skin and dirt. It leaves a fresh smell and it's good for in, or just out of the shower.
