Fri Nov 23 2007I have had numerous arthroscopic surgeries on my knee over the past 20 years and recently visited an orthopoedic surgeon due to a further chapter of pain and swelling. I was horrified to be told that I needed major knee replacement surgery and was promptly offered a variety of surgery times within the next few days. I left that office shocked but knowing that I needed to seek a second opinion. I visited Dr Ted Spears with an armful of x-rays, MRI output and surgeon's findings, a collection of data gathered since 1987. Our first meeting was magical, he told me to put my dossier down and whilst examining me asked me about the current problem, my lifestyle and my physical desires/expectations. He then reviewed some of the data and announced that replacement surgery was a possibility however he would prefer to explore other, less invasive and less complex, options. Ted Spears appears to see surgery as the last option, a very refreshing attitude! I was offered a combination of phy... Read more

Wed Oct 10 2007Dr Spears adopted me as a patient following a TRAUMATIC PLANE CRASH which resulted in the need for ankle fusion. We shared many battles with osteomyelitis (my ankle bone fell into the mud when I was cut out of the plane crash) but his excellent work and great care has me squatting over 500lbs again! I am blessed to have such a great surgeon who is also a brother in faith! Throttle to the fire wall- ! Dr Buck Willis

Wed Dec 20 2006I just got out of pretty serious knee surgery today with Dr. Spears and have never been as well cared for in my pre-op visits or in the operation/recovery itself. Dr. Spears took the time to pray with my family and I before sugery and came by and checked on me after sugery at least 3 times. He even called at night to make sure I was tolerating the pain and gave me the option of checking back into the recovery unit for IV pain meds if I was not able to be comfortable at home. He spent time with me answering all of my questions and even made a video of parts of my surgery so I could see all that went on in my knee. He is truely a gifted man who has found his calling.

Sun Sep 17 2006Everyone in this office is very responsive and caring. Dr. Spears is extremely honest about treatment options, and he explained everything ... both good and bad. I'm going to get more of his business cards to pass around. I've been working with Ariel (PT) and Lisa (PA) - they are both wonderful! He has re-attached my Achilles tendon which is healing really well. I am so grateful and glad that he was recommended to me by my doctor! I highly recommend Dr. Spears and Sports Performance International.

Thu Feb 10 2005Ted Spears and staff, are the BEST!! I have had two surgeries done with them and I'm doing great. I'm doing my second marathon in February of 2005. I HIGHLY recommend them. They are very personable, and really care about you. They really care about their patents, not about just doing surgery because they can. I think that is important these days since there are so many shady doctors. They also have physical therapists onsite so that makes life easier too id you need physical theraphy.
