After waiting in a long line, which was understandable, when we finally were called to check out, the employee helping us, (Marc) was very nice in explaining to my father that he had to pay $90 extra because of his bag. Of course my father was upset that he had to pay extra fees because he was told that each passenger was allowed one carry on. So after the employee explained the new poicy my father proceeded on paying the money required. My father then looked at me and said " No ody told me about this, its bull Sh*T". I told him its ok next time just fly with American. Then another employee named Jean Lilavois left his post came around to where we were at just to tell my father to quote "Watch your fucking mouth, when you around here man". My father told him its his money being spent, so he could tell his daughter what ever he wants. Jean proceeded on telling my father "what the hell you wanna do", then my brothrs told him to respect my father and leave us alone. He continued to tell u... Read more

Awful airline. Planes were very dirty. We flew 3 separate planes and ALL of them had trash left from the previous flights. On our last flight someone had spilled orange juice in our row and it was never cleaned up. They charge for EACH bag checked. They charge for ALL food and drink. There is no leg room because the rows are so smushed together. We were on our honeymoon and they assigned us seats that weren't together. When we asked the desk if they could put us together she responded by telling us we could just wait until we boarded the plane and then ask other passengers if they would move. When I asked if she could just check in the computer there were plenty of seats together to choose from. Why would I want to get on board and then ask other people if they would be willing to switch seats? We also noticed that before every flight before boarding they made an announcement that the flight would be full and therefore people needed to check their carry-ons. We did this first time but ... A group of four flew from San Antonio to Ft. Lauderdale and then on to Lima, Peru. We got there with zero problems. The return flight was a nightmare. We got home three days later than planned due to their poor, poor service. After checking the status online i nPeru we went to the airport at midnight to catch a 3:15am flight. At 2:00am they decided to cancel the flight. No reason given. No hotel offered. No meals offered. We were offered a "FREE" flight reservation change for the next day. They actually said "free reservation change". Upon arrival the next day the plane was three hours late to take off. We arrived in Fort Lauderdale and were told that since we had a tight connection that we had to run through customs to catch our flight to San Antonio. When we arrived at our flight they said that since we were late they had sold our tickets. There was another flight 9 hours later that was overbooked and they wouldn't book us on that flight so we had to spend the night in ... Read more

This airline sucks so bad, I can't believe they are in business. First, they charge you to check one bag, then they charge you to get an assigned seat. After all that, they changed my flight from a 1.5 hour direct flight to a 10 hour connecting flight. I was on the phone with them for over 2 hours to try and cancel. DO NOT FLY SPIRIT AIRLINES!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

NEVER FLY SPIRIT AIRLINES. Terrible customer service over the phone (if you get through at all) and no place to leave feedback or email on the website. Twenty dollars to check EACH bag ONE way is a joke and if you want to check the bags online to save 50% it is through an insecure server. There is a charge for everything, even $3 for a soda on the flight. If you like to waste money, want piss poor customer service or are willing to have your credit information compromised on their site give them a try. P.S. If you want to hear the biggest joke of your life read the last paragraph of the "About Us" section from their website.

Spirit Airlines is the worst. I was on hold with "customer service" (Or lack of!) for 26 minutes and then 46 minutes when the first call went dead. The second time they checked back in with me after 24 minutes to make sure I was still holding then never heard again. I printed my wifes boarding pass and thier computer would not let me print mine and they did not want to take 10 seconds to correct. DO NOT EVER USE THEM!

This is a poor excuse of an airline. They will charge you for everything on this flight...also be aware if you miss your flight...they do not put you on standby...you will be required to pay full fare for a new ticket. Beware! Other airlines will put you on the next flight....Not Spirit...how do you really think they can sell $9.00 tickets. Rude service and the planes pack you in like Sardines!

My wife and I flew on Spirit Airlines from Las Vegas to Fort Lauderdale. We paid $8.00 for each seat, so we bought 3 seats to take the row. We selected the seats early and prepaid $5.00 for 3 pieces of luggage. We paid 15.00 for 2 Jack Daniels, 1 Apple Juice and 1 bag of chips. We check in as instructed with no problems. We took off in time and arrived early. Total cost 169.00 plus or minus a dollar or two. The Flight Attendants were polite and very attentive. I will fly them again when I plan to fly. Some people want everything for nothing, for them God Bless You.

Six flights, six nightmares!!! I have flown Spirit six times over the last year. It is the most unprofessional Airline! The gate agents are incompetent and rude. My luggage got lost two times and one time never recovered. I did not get reimbursed either. I contacted them over twenty times. Communication is impossible. They do not even have a link to customer service, "feedback" or "contact us" on their website. After over three thousand flights on over forty airlines I can surely say that I will never fly this airline again.

This is the most unprofessional airline that I have ever flown on. Rude service and dishonest. At least I won't have to worry about them much longer. They are clearly struggling and will be out of business

Spirit charges for everything!  They charge for checked bags, they charged for a can of pop in flight, they charge for pillows and blankets.  They used to have business class, but now just bigger seats up front and no additional service.  If you like being nickle and dimed, fly Spirit.
