Mon Feb 12 2007Though I've always been an admirer of Michael J. Fox, "Spin City" never really kept my attention. The rest of the cast seemed game enough, most notably Barry Bostwick and Richard Kind, but the scripts always seemed a but too crowded (save for Fox and Bostwick) for any character development during the earlier seasons. I will say that when I catch the show on reruns on occasion, I'm usually entertained, but not enough to actively seek out the show. As many of the prior reviewers noted, Charlie Sheen never had the same magic as Fox after he left the series.

Fri Mar 25 2005Maybe as the result of my professional background I found this show entertaining. The storylines are not far off reality in that kind of work, and the acting and scripting was better than average.

Sun Feb 22 2004I really enjoyed Spin City. I think it went down in quality after Michael J. Fox left, but I always watched it. I think that it was a more accurate portrayal of how politics works at the ground level; more so than the West Wing, which I find to be too preachy and less realistic. They almost never promoted any kind of social agenda. The mayor reminds me of a lot of politicians at the local level that I know personally; kind of clueless. The staff acted as a clean up crew for the mayor. Fox's sarcastic humor showed through on the show.

Sat Aug 02 2003I hate comedies where someone comes in a room, says one thing, gets a cheap laugh, then just walks out for no reason. This show was the king of one line comedy, which I normally do not like. I can't explain why I liked this show, Michael J. Fox was a jerk on it, Sheen was a sexist pig, and Heather Locklear was a superficial bitch. I hated that Brooklyn secretary, and the secretary who never seemed involved in the story at all. I did like Carter, James, Stewart, Nicky, and The Mayor. So I guess it balances out.

Wed Apr 02 2003This was watchable, but didn't we already see the "bumbling governor" routine on Benson? Michael J. Fox made this show entertaining and Spin City would probably still be on TV if he hadn't left the stage. This show was alot smarter than all these "fat slob with a cute wife and three smartmouth kids" sitcoms we've suddenly been deluged with...

Wed Apr 02 2003What happened to this show? They brought in Charlie Sheen and then, poof, it was gone. ABC, shame on you!

Sun Jun 17 2001I have watched this show from it's first episode. I started watching it because of Michael J. Fox. The first episodes were rough and I wondered if it would make it. Over time the cast became better defined and more comfortable with their personalities. It was a very fine show with Mr. Fox at it's core. Then we were saddened by the news of Mr. Fox's illness and his forced retirement. But this cast was working so well together that they were able to bring in Charlie Sheen, not as a replacement, but as another complete character. I like the fact that the mayor remarked several times how much he missed the character "Mike", as we all do. I also admire the sense of humor that Charlie Sheen must have because of the way he lets the show play on the problems he has had in real life with drinking and excess. I hope this show is on for a long time.

Thu Apr 12 2001Ever since Michael J. Fox left Spin City, the show has totally gone down the tubes, and Charlie Sheen just can't play the character well. He is so unfunny and unstable in his role. Heather Locklear doesn't have the same chemistry as she did with Michael as she does with Charlie either.

Fri Dec 22 2000I watch all of the reruns, but what happened to the speech writer guy? The ensamble cast is great, and they couldn't have picked a better mayor.

Sun Jan 23 2000Spin City can be funny, but it's become sleazy. When all the jokes are based on sex, you know the show's desperate and going down the hill.

Wed Nov 03 1999Never really watch this show, but when i have, I really enjoy it. The addition of Heather Locklear is a very good choice. Damn, she still looks great - and I am not particularly fond of bleach blondes. Gotta respect Michael J Fox for continuing to act while dealing with Parkinson's on a daily basis.
