Wed Apr 22 2009Major performance enhancement just went live on the River / Home page. For those of you with lots of friends, it should be a big improvement. This change should also speed up the category pages.

Tue Jan 13 2009V3 has really slowed down some important functions, including the ability to page through new reviews, one's own collected reviews, and voting. Please give us back the ability to select the number of reviews we want to see on a page. This default to a relatively slim number of reviews per page makes it tedious and definitely less enjoyable.

Thu Aug 14 2008I would say there's not much of a problem in that department. Whenever it does run slow, it's probably because of my quirky browser.

Wed Feb 21 2007And even better now that I'm no longer using dial-up :)

Mon Feb 19 2007Huge improvement. For a while there it felt like my computer had morphed into a 386. Remember those, kiddies?

Sat Feb 17 2007. . . I'm actually thoroughly impressed with the current upgrade . . . . Good job, RIA . . .

Wed Oct 06 2004When I clicked the link to take me to this page, it slowed down to the point that I had to click it again before it would go. And even then, my computer expressed its frustration through jerky loading noises for about 30 seconds before finally bringing me here. So I'm rating this a two.

Sat Apr 03 2004It is quite evident that RIA has recently taken steps to increase the overall speed of the site. Despite expanded coverage and content, the site is moving faster than ever, which certainly speaks volumes about the commitment of the RIA team to making this site the best it can be.

Sun Oct 26 2003It hard to rate this fairly because it depends on how fast your internet is, and such. However, RIA has almost no big pictures and the sites content is mostly text, fluff that should load easily. It takes about 3 seconds to load on my computer.

Sat May 10 2003Should be a little quicker.

Thu Apr 04 2002I think the speed of the site has actually improved, but it still can be pretty slow at times, especially on AOL.

Sun Nov 11 2001This obviously has to do with your internet connection. I have a cable modem and the site pops up practically instantaneously. If I had a dial-up, I could see the problem.

Fri Sep 14 2001Once I get on the site it works pretty well. However, it tends to hang up when I first try to access it. Probably a JavaScript thing. If I hit the STOP button the page usually pops up - completely or partially and runs halfway decent from there out.

Mon Jul 23 2001Oh sure, the site loads fast. However, after 2 minutes of navigation it just becomes impossible to go anywhere. The site becomes SLOW!!! VERY SLOW!!! And I'm on a CABLE modem for God's sake! That's something that really should be looked after. Because every 2 minutes I have to close Internet Explorer and open it again, so it'll become fast again for another 2 minutes and the cycle goes on...

Sat May 26 2001I think the speed is exceptionally good but sometimes it can be a littl slow!

Fri Feb 02 2001I have a DSL connection, so I'm probably not the best judge of the site speed. I imagine it would be pretty frustrating to wait for a long list to load when you're using a slow dial-up modem. But, as always, the faster the better - and there's always room for improvement.

Sun Nov 19 2000While I have a 56k modem, it will only connect at 24k with our phone lines. Even at this transfer rate, the site loads with exceptional speed. It is nice when you want to see what your feedback or opinions look like on the actual site, without having to wait fifteen minutes while it calculates the results and writes in into the site.

Mon Oct 30 2000Sometimes pages load pretty fast, other times it takes a while. Overall the site moves a lot faster than it used to, but I get really impatient waiting even 5 seconds for a page to load.
