Thu Feb 11 2010I had my weddig in Jan, and got my MANICURE at Sydell Spa Buckhead on my wedding day. With a spa that level, we would expect decent and professional service, but we were WRONG! The manicure was horrible, not only did the lady (Kiki) mis-use the cuticle treatment resulting in chemical peeling of my fingers and hands, but also the nail polish was done so poorly it started forming "bubbles" within an hour of the manicure. It was my biggest day--my wedding day and my hands were ruined by Sydell spa. I took photos of them. I emailed them twice to complain, but did not get a response. They charged $30 for a basic manicure! If you don't want your hands (or any part of your body) ruined, you need to rethink about going there. I have photos of the chemically damaged hands if anyone wants them.

Mon Nov 16 2009I booked a couples massage for by boyfriends 29th birthday and of course chose Spa Sydell b/c of my previous experiance at the one in Alpharetta (5 stars). When we arrived I confirmed w/ the desk that the massage was under "Couples massage " to ensure that we would be together. The desk said yes. After waiting 20 min My tech came out and when I asked about my boyfriends' she said we were not booked together. She took us back (without stopping by the locker room to get a robe etc) to our rooms fully clothed --then again we waited. After 10 min. the manager came in and said even though I had requested 2 women I would have to have a man b/c they messed up. Not what I expected and it made me a little uncomfortable. I agreed rather than wait again for a women to become available. Then after the massage started the manager knocked on the door (interupting the massage again) to give us some lotion that smells good but isnt all that moisturizing. I was very thankful this location m... Read more

Tue Jun 30 2009I am an event planner for a local company and was responsible to entertain spouses for a day while 'the guys' were in a meeting. I opted to take them to the Buckhead Spa Sydell for services and lunch. Susie Erath was our point of contact at the spa . She was responsible for helping us plan and organize our event. It was SO easy...I explained what we were looking for over the phone, we wanted to offer a few options to pick from, have lunch together and to go. We had a contract in place the next day...all I had to do was send the names and chosen services to Susie and we were all set. Everything was perfectly organized and ready the day of our visit and lunch was wonderful! We got in and out seamlessly and everyone was overly relaxed and fed by the time we left!

Sun Apr 26 2009My husband & i went here for a couple's massage and it was the best Valentine's gift ever! it was extremely relaxing and we will definately go back. The staff was extremely courteous and we were both happy even though we requested two completely different things--I wanted a relaxing massage & he needed to destress his muscles. We have never slept better!

Wed Mar 25 2009Regarding In Spa: The information surrounding the buyout of Spa Sydell is false. The company remains a privately owned, family business as it has for the previous 26 years. All gift certificates purchased under the Sydell name will be honored within one calendar year of their purchase date. Spa Sydell remains the premier day spa of Atlanta. Regarding gift certificates: All Spa Sydell gift certificates have a documented expiration date of one calendar year from the purchase date. After expiration, a surcharge of 20% can be paid to reactivate the certificate for the full amount. For any remaining questions, please call 404.255.7727 or visit our website

Tue Apr 08 2008I was looking forward to FINALLY using 3 old spa gift certificates that I had received as gifts for my upcoming 30th birthday, but was informed that I could not redeem them because they are over 2 years old. That's over $400 of my friends' and families' hard earned money that they flat out STOLE. I am a VERY busy person and unfortunately haven't had time to take off a whole day to spend at the spa until now. I looked forward to a nice relaxing day at the spa for my 30th, but now I have to inform my friends and family that all their generosity went to waste. Money is money... these gift certificates should not expire. I realize prices may have changed, but I was more than willing to pay the difference. I will certainly be telling all of my friends and family to never buy me another gift certificate from this corrupt company again, and I warn everyone to avoid this unprofessional business like the plague! They aren't even that great of a spa to begin with.

Fri Mar 21 2008I HAVE BEEN GOING TO SPA SYDELL FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS. I DON'T KNOW IF IN THE PROCESS OF GROWING THE BUSINESS THEY FORGOT TO INCLUDE CUSTOMER SERVICES. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING BACK TO THIS DAY SPA. ALL YOUR SERVICES ARE RUSHED THEY PUSH YOU IN AND PUSH YOU OUT. DAY SPAS SHOULD BE RELAXING IN THIS CASE YOUR JUST A NUMBER. THE LAST SIX TIMES I HAVE BEEN TO SPA SYDELL AT THE BUCKHEAD AND MIDTOWN LOCTION THE STEAM ROOMS ARE NEVER WORKING. THEY SHOULD MAKE CUSTOMERS AWARE OF THIS WHEN MAKING APPOINTMENTS. WHEN YOU WALK OUTSIDE THE SPA THE THERAPIST ARE SITTING OUTSIDE SMOKING LIKE THEY ARE IN A BACK ALLY SOMEWHERE. CUSTOMER SERVICES RATING THEY GET A NEGATIVE 99. THE CUSTOMER SERVICES IS REALLY BADD. THEY ARE TO MANY DAY SPAS IN ATLANTA THAT PROVIDE A RELAXING ATOMOSPHERE. THEY ARE ALWAYS OVERBOOKED AND FOR THE PRICES THAT YOU PAY YOU CAN GET BETTER TREATMENT ELSEWHERE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DRIVE THRU SPA UNLESS YOU ARE IN A HURRY TO GET SERVICES

Wed Feb 27 2008Let's see, where do I began. First of all when we (me and my significant other) entered the spa, we were ignored by a group of ladies for about 10 minutes. They were training new employees and making a lot of noise (I hope that poor customer service was not a part of it). Finally we were assisted. (the upstairs was very tranquil yet modern, and we quickly forgot about the rude staff downstairs) Let's move forward to the massage; we got a couple's massage. I had a man, while he had a lady. During the entire massage, I could hear my masseur breathing heavily (from exhaustion/ not physically fit?), and at one point, he thought it would be a good idea to remove his shirt/ uniform. I didn't mind it, when he asked, but unfortunately his forearms were sweating and were clammy and cold against my back - DISGUSTING! I could not relax between the loud breathing and the cold, sweaty arms. The entire experience was ruined, and as you can guess, we will never return to Spa Sydell, again.

Tue Jan 15 2008If you want to get ripped off visit any Spa Sydell location. BEWARE if you have a gift certificate and don't use it when it is convienent for them they will flat out STEAL your money. They are crooks and should be ashamed to call themselves a Spa because they do exactly the opposite of helping you relax. The little lady who stared this company back in the day should be embarresed for what they have done to her name and reputation. This is one company who is only in it for the money and not the customer.

Sun Jan 13 2008Ok, sad to say, this was my first massage! But, it will not be my last! I could not have asked for a better experience. Antwaun is the most professional massage therapist. He explained everything that he was going to do and asked where I was feeling the most tense. He even advised me on what to do after my message to release tension. The location was very warm and welcoming. My hats goes off to the Buckhead Spa Sydell! I will refer all family and friends to this location. Thank you, Shona

Mon Jan 07 2008No Honor and No class. They treat customers like dirt. I have had very poor experiences at various Spa Sydell locations. Their Corporate customer service is the worst of all. Several others have had similar complaints, including not honoring gift certificates. Just a terrible company.

Sat Sep 15 2007I was not at all pleased with the service I received at Spa Sydell. The staff was friendly however, their services were not worth the amount they cost. The massage room was cold, their robes are made out of industrial grade fabric and they were not heated. The pedicure definetly did not meet my expectations; I had polish on my toes, my heel was still rough... it was a sloppy job... and I got the "signature pedicure". I also had a body wrap and facial which was also a waste of money. I will never return to Spa Sydell; I guess I just had too high of an expectation.

Fri Aug 10 2007I often visit Spa Sydell for their airbrush tanning services and could not be more pleased with the results. Over the past few years, I have become quite an expert on airbrush tanning as I rarely go without them in the summer and I venture to say that this is the most natural and beautiful tan available. More specifically, Tonya, the director of the entire airbrush tanning department is very talented and exceptionally trustworthy in meeting your expectations for desired darkness. My advice is to request her. Infact, I have been known to drive a full hour and a half (there and back from my parents home in Toccoa) for one of her tans. I have been in numerous weddings this summer, and I only trust Tonya and Spa Sydell to help me look my best for such an important occasion. Furthermore, my tan generally lasts 7 to 10 days and sometimes even longer if I moisturize daily.

Fri Jul 20 2007I have been to Spa Sydell Buckhead 2 times and i can say that both times were wonderful. I had a 60 min massage both times and i must say that (Antuine )is the most professional therapist that i have ran into, he knows his job very well and he always makes me feel so comfortable, i would recommend his service to anyone who wants to relax and feel pampered, i will see you again. Overall the spa is very nice and clean and the people there are very nice and helpful, unlike the one at Cumberland mall (will not go back there) never got a massage there but the young girl at the register was very rude and unhelpful, they made a mistake with my appointment and she just shruged us off like there was nothing she could do, it was there error, my husband made me a appointment and it got deleted without us knowing, so we went to the Cumberland and she said we didn't have an appointment and we knew we should of had one so we called the appointment phone # and they saw where we had one but it someho... Sun Dec 10 2006I just read the TEN reviews on this place and cannot imagine why you would give it a 9.3 rating. I have never been here and I will never go there based on the reviews from actual patrons who say they were "rushed" and did not receive the pampering they expected. Just from the ten reviews I read, I would give them a rating much lower even though they obviously give excellent airbrush tans according to two of their customers..

Mon Oct 09 2006Went here with husband for couples massage. We both loved it. We were side by side. The massage was the best we'd ever had. We went at 8pm on a romantic overnight date in Buckhead! This helped to make our date a perfect 10!! We can't wait to go back!! The lighting was dim and relaxing and the music was calming. Excellent service from calling to make appointment, checking in upon arrival, and friendliness plus skills of therapist.

Fri Jul 28 2006Tonya Nicole at Spa Sydell in Buckhead is the best airbrush tan specialist in the city. I have been going to her for for a year and a half to get the perfect color that looks like I have been in the sun when I haven't. With Tonya Nicole, you won't ever have any streaks or the orange color that usually goes along with sunless tanner. She is an expert at getting your tan even and giving you tips to make sure you dry properly. I definitely recommend her!

Sun Apr 23 2006Spa Sydell, while well known, obviously lives by the term "time is money". The services are rushed and I was herded from room to room with no real outreach from my technicians. They obviously do not like their job...I recommend some house cleaning by the managment or maybe of the management.

Wed Apr 05 2006The Scene A highly visible seven-location spa chain, Sydell is Atlanta's first thought for pampering services. This distinction, however, is challenged by uninspired decor and a tendency toward in-and-out service. While you won't be swept off your feet by personal boutique-spa extras, you'll be rewarded with an experienced massage therapist or esthetician. Be wary of the staff's tendency to push products and higher-priced services. The Services Spa Sydell doesn't venture into creative services, but all the basics are here: massages, polishes, wraps, facials, manis and pedis. The signature facial is customized to your skin type and can include a glycolic peel or collagen treatment. Sydell is known for gift packages, such as the Deluxe Spa Day and the His and Her Body Massage. Bridal parties also visit this spa for professional makeup application.

Sun Nov 20 2005I was lucky enough to get a gift certificate to Spa Sydell Buckhead for my birthday. Not only is the place gorgeous, but the staff was wonderful. Milla did my pedicure and I don't think i've ever had a better one! She was so careful and my feet felt great after. I had a great massage with Duane. It was my first time having a massage from a man and I was nervous but he put me at ease. I don't normally write reviews but this experience was exceptional! It is the best gift I've ever gotten.

Thu Aug 25 2005i scheduled a side by side massage for my boyfriend and I - and it was the worst massage i have ever had, and I have had many. My massage therapist was either still a student or brand new, and her strokes were hurried and hurtful. Furthermore, in scheduling a side by side massage I thought that my boyfriend and I would be in one room - we were in two separate rooms with a divider taken out of the wall. My boyfriend enjoyed his massage, but I will never return to spa sydell.

Thu Jun 23 2005I was rushed from room to room. I had a wonderful massage then the rest of the day was full of edgy staff members (except for reception). My 'hour-long' body polish was 10 minutes, the staff didn't bother to scrub the salt granules into my skin, my body wrap was shortened by 30 min. After, I was 'commanded' to rinse off in the shower and dined in their cafeteria-style lunchroom where I was served lettuce with vegetables topped with what I swear could have passed as raspberry cough syrup. I ended with a decent brow dye and an excellent spray tan (I'll admit, the best tan I'd ever received). Reception was very good about giving me a refund for the body-polish. Overall, the spa staff seemed rushed and unhappy. On a good note, I will be going back for their tanning service. Otherwise, I'll be going someplace else.

Tue Feb 01 2005Spa Sydell is my favorite place to go when I want to feel pampered like a Queen. The service is outstanding and the staff is full of smiles and great kindness. This added to the feeling of great hospitality I recieved throughout my entire visit! They have several locations which is a big convenience! If you buy a series which is not only a cost savings but, it also eliminates you from having to dig through your purse and wallet to pay after you have been pampered! Another great thing about getting a series is that you can use the series at any location....again very conveient! Spa Sydell also has a very personal touch, during my last visit I was admiring the beautiful artwork displayed throughout the Spa and found out the artist is actually Sydells son. I thought this was very cool!

Mon Dec 20 2004My day here was fabulous. My massage was one of the best I've ever had. The aesthetician who did my facial was so knowledgeable; the products she used were great as well. Overall, I thought it was a great experience... the staff was nice and I love having valet.
