Sat Dec 20 2008This is my first (and only) blu ray player. The picture and sound are AMAZING and unmatched to anything I've ever experienced on my 52" Samsung LCD. My only problem is that it sometimes takes quite a bit of time for the discs to actually load up. I don't know if this is just the way blu ray players are, or if it's just from this player. I got it at a fair price from Amazon, so I'm happy with it!

Mon Dec 08 2008I hooked up the BDP-S350 this past weekend. I was very impressed with the picture and sound quality, even though I was using the coax-out for the audio. At the suggestion of the insert, I took my unit upstairs and hooked it up to my network. I thought that the auto-update would be easy and painless. After following all of the instructions, I completed the update. With the newly updated BD player, I hooked it up and started to watch a movie. Unfortunately, the unit would not recognize the disc or any disc for that matter. I called Sony and they told me that the unit needed to be sent in for replacement. Apparently, some updates do not work right, which results in bricking the unit. I returned the unit and I will hesitate in updating the firmware on my new unit.

Mon Dec 08 2008Amazon was great. Great price, timely shipping, could not ask for much more. Sony, however, sucks. This item was part of a system,TV, BDP Home theater system, all Sony. TV failed within a month, and try, I repeat, try to get service from Sony. Stay away from Sony. LP

Sat Dec 06 2008There are a million posts about the features of this and similar Blu-ray players. They all send gorgeous video. The BDP-S350, with an update on earlier models, will also play the latest Blu-ray sound formats, hook up with the latest HDMI cables and it is affordable. It isn't missing anything that will obsolete it anytime soon, except...read on. I think this unit is as good as anything in its price range and when Black Friday prices were sooo compelling, I bought one. It works as advertised and the both the picture and sound is really nice. Blu-ray gives the best results, even on 720p TVs. It is also modern looking with its cool blue front. Actually, the blue only shows in daylight. I thought it would look like the photos, or glow at night or something neat like that, but it doesn't. It looks black in dim light. This unit is designed to work with AV receivers that are capable of dealing with the new audio and video formats. The more expensive Sony BR players have this ability ... Read more

Sat Dec 06 2008This is my first blu-ray player and I must admit that when I watched blu ray movies on my 1080P compatible 52 inch Sony Bravia I was completely blown away...I would have given the product 5 star but just because you can get a blu ray player on PS3 now it just makes more sense to buy a PS3 instead. The sony sync works great too as you can use just one remote to control everything.

Sat Dec 06 2008Fantastic image quality, thin design, lightweight for mounting on wall shelf, price from Amazon was considerably below that of local electronics stores and their online cousins. Can't say enough good things about this product. Shipment was ahead of schedule.
