Sun Dec 28 2008I was surprised that this place actually had good bbq. Most chains don't do a very good job. It's a little pricey for such casual dining but it's worth it. The pulled pork is perfect.

Mon Dec 17 2007We eat at smokey bones a good bit, we like it. I get the grilled chicken and shrimp, its very good. I prefer the yellow bbq thats on the table rather than what they give you....so I ask for mine plan with no bbq and put my own sauce on.

Mon May 28 2007The pulled pork is awesome, and the barbecued beef brisket is pretty good too. Another added bonus is that they have several TVs, and there is a speaker at each table which you can tune to whatever channel you want to watch. So unlike a lot of other restaurants or bars that advertise that they're showing the game, you can actually hear it as well as watch it.

Wed Jan 17 2007Smokey Bones has a family friendly atmosphere and the food is filling. I like the smoked sausage and my husband likes the pulled pork and diced beef. They go out of their way to fix any problem that arises. Their donuts are to die for. I would highly recommend the restaurant for casual dining.

Tue Jan 02 2007The pulled pork is definitely the winner in this family, although I have really enjoyed the cheddar cheese soup that they offer. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is lodge-like and very clean. I would recommend Smoky Bones for lunch, a family dinner or for a hungry traveler.

Wed Mar 15 2006Try the buffalo burgers. Surprisingly good. The baby back ribs are excellent and my wife likes the pulled pork sandwich.

Sun Dec 25 2005Great selection, VERY helpful/friendly staff, incredible flavor that is usually reserved for the mom and pop places. Get the pulled pork/smoked sausage/brisket platter with baked beans and fries and rinse it down with an iced tea. I cant imagine rating another chain 5 stars as Ive never had ONE bad experience here, but MANY great experiences.

Sat Aug 13 2005I actually dined here at teh Baton Rouge Smokey last nite. I was really impressed with the Pulled Pork platter and the awesome cornbread starter. The Spiked Strawberry Lemonade was good, too. The atmosphere was nice although the 8 tv's were a bit distracting. If you are not into BBQ, there are a lot of other things on the menu to choose from. Give them a try.
