SmartCat Ultimate Scratching Post

My cat absolutely loves this post. It is about 3 feet tall-allowing her to do a full stretch. I used to have to hold the top of her old scratch posts when she scratched so that they wouldn't topple over on her. This one has a wide, heavy base-I don't have to worry about toppling anymore. My cat scratches this post three or four times a day and the sisal is holding up pretty well. I've had the post for two months. I definitely recommend this product. My cat is noticeably happier and more relaxed at the end of the day.

My cat seems to like this post and it is tall enough that he can completely stretch out and scratch. However, because of the large size of the product, I had to move it so it is not in the usual spot. Now the cat seems to favor his corregated cardboard scratcher (which I just changed the insert and put fresh catnip into). I think that this product could be improved with the inclusion of some catnip. I'll have to try to put some in somehow.

Do not hesitate. This is the best scratching post ever made. Our cats had worked their way through several carpet and sisal-rope posts, tearing the you-know-what out of them and getting sisal and carpet all over the place. Those kind are useless, and they are also too SHORT to create a good stretch for your cat. See, it's not all about the scratching ... it's about the stretching too. Cats naturally like to reach up high and get a great stretch when they scratch. Helps them stay in good shape; helps their muscles and sinew remain strong and flexible. This post is TOP QUALITY. I cannot stress this enough. Base,top, sisal FABRIC (not rope wound around, but sisal of a tight-woven quality you simply do not see anywhere else. Our two four month old kittens LOVE the SmartCat Post. The sofa is saved! Best of all, it is very good looking and very well made.
