Tue Aug 12 2008I like this product. It helps me lose weight (albeit slowly). I which there was a good discount for ordering larger quantities.

Fri Jul 11 2008I use the Slim-Fast Optima chocolate royale and milk chocolate flavors to make ice-cold smoothies -- 1 c. skim milk, SF powder, a lot of crushed ice -- process in a smoothie maker or blender. The shakes help me get milk into my diet, satisfy my sweet tooth, get some protein, and resist high-calorie, high-fat ice cream treats. The flavor is great, and when prepared this way, the shake is thick and cold. I keep this product on-hand all the time.

Sun Jan 13 2008I have been using these shakes for years. Some posters do not like the fact that they have sugar. Frankly, I beleive that anything in moderation is ok and alittle sugar in the shakes does not change the fact that they are good, filling and satisfying for about 200 calories. I try and stay away from lots of artificial sweetners and this does have some splenda. I always blend it in the blender with about 6-8 oz. of skim milk, ice cubes and sometimes a little coffee. If you whip it enough you have a huge shake that is similar to a frappacino from Starbucks or a milkshake. Very satisfying and refreshing.

Sat Nov 10 2007I've been using it just about every morning for the past several years. It's a fast, out-the-door morning starter and otherwise I might have nothing for breakfast. I use 2% milk and add an ice cube into the blender to make it frothy and light (adds to the taste somehow). If I happen to have a piece of fruit handy, I throw it in too. I find Chocolate Royale more flavorful than the Milk Chocolate flavor. With all the vitimins, I feel like I'm taking good care of myself.

Sat Oct 27 2007Slim-Fast will work, but you have to follow the plan AND exercise. It is a basic low-calorie diet, which is effective as long as you're burning more calories than you're consuming. I take the shake for breakfast, the shake with some veggies from our cafeteria for lunch, then work out after work to up the calories burnt, then try have a reasonable dinner. One important note is that they consider a "sensible dinner" to be about 500 calories. This isn't that bad if you cook at home, but I know of very few restaurants where you can get a meal with only 500 calories. Portion control is king. You could get the same benefits as this product by just picking and choosing what you eat, but for roughly $.50 a serving the price is decent. I do find that I can go 3-4 hours before I start getting hungry again, and it can be even longer if I keep myself busy, and my mind occupied by other things. They also recommend that you snack (on their snacks of course!) throughout the day to control... Read more
