Went to Cinci on a business trip and figured I had to try the Chili. Went to a skyline and ordered up a bowl and was not impressed. The flavor wasn't bad but I would call it soup over chili, if they put more meat and beans it would have been good. I also tried a chili dog that was the equivalent of a vienna sausage and soggy chili soup bread. Skyline, where's the beef?

I have been addicted to this stuff since I was a kid.  I have only eaten at the restaurant a few times, but I get the chili from the freezer aisle at the grocery store.  Although it doesn't compare to the restaurant, it is still delicious.

Just as there are several types of pizza, Cincinnati chili is different fron Texas Red or Hormels. Skyline was the first of its kind and does what they do well.

I love their 3-ways!! Mounds of cheese on top of their chili and spaghetti. I know ppl not native to the taste can be a little put off when they think they're getting "chili" and it doesn't really look like chili. I have to tell people it's not like the chunky texas chili, just think of it as something completely different, and you will enjoy it. That usually works too. Gotta finish it off with a York peppermint pattie!

My pals in Cinci used to send me the spice packets to make it myself. Its better to go there for the experience. Do it "5 way"..with chopped onions, beans, cheeze, macaroni, etc.. Rumor has it that the secret ingredient is chocolate. I kid you not.

Unfortuneatly, we don't have any resturants in Orlando, but they do sell their chilli in the frozen section of the markets. Its really good, even for a frozen product! I only wish there was an outlet here.

First, it's not what most people think of as "chili". It's sweeter, not especially spicy, and wouldn't really work in a bowl. This chain, like other, smaller chains still concentrated in Cincinnati, makes coneys (chili cheese dogs) and 3-, 4-, and 5-ways. A 5-way is a plate of spaghetti topped with chili (ground beef in a thin sauce), pinto beans, onions, and cheese; just subtract an ingredient or two for a 4- or 3-way. The stuff is incredibly addictive. Besides the food, which is served in diners with booths or counter service, the service is consistently great (both in the Cincinnati area, where I grew up, and in Columbus, where I live now). The staff is happy, friendly, and attentive. The kitchen is open, so they're always interacting with the cooks, who also seem to be having a good time. A great experience if you're visiting Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky!
