Recently traveled Sydney to Hong Kong via Singapore with family of 4. On 3 of 4 legs, we were sat in the last or 2nd last rows of the rear cabin - lots of movement, sick people and, near the toilets, it was smelly and very noisy. Singapore Air seems to encourage parents with crying/restless babies to take them to the section outsides the toilet and walk up and down - nice for the families, bad if you are seated in front of them and can't sleep all night. The seats were cramped and one of the fold- down tables did't work - leading a cabin crew member to suggest to my wife that she put her hot dinner tray on her lap and eat with one hand while balancing a tray with hot food and drink in another. Clearly unacceptable and unsafe. On the 4th leg, Singapore separated us from our children, putting them in another cabin. I had purchased the seats through an agent 6 months prior to the trip. Singapore claimed poor seating was the fault of the agent or of me - telling me that I should have check... Read more

I was on a locum appointment in Brunei. I decided to get my family to join me from Kuwait. They decided to travel on SIA on the route Dubai Singapore Bander Seri Begawan. I had arranged for a visa on arrival from Brunei, and a letter was issued by Brunei Immigration clearly stating that visas for the passengers will be issued on arrival with which they proceeded to travel. They were subsequently denied boarding by SIA at Dubai airports boarding gate because the SIA staff felt that their visa may not be valid. I was called at this point and I asked to speak to the SIA staff. In short he told me that, in his opinion, he had made his decision and he did not care if I sued SIA or took any further action, they will not travel on SIA. However, he also informed me that if I can arrange any other carrier to take them, he would endorse their tickets on that airline. Luckily, Royal Brunei Airlines was leaving Dubai for Bander Seri Begawan, a few hours later, and I had to make 10 to 15 internat... Read more

Had a great flight last year with Singapore Airlines: The service and crew were very good. Auckland to Singapore; Singapore to Hanoi; Saigon to Singapore and back to Auckland, New Zealand. Have been Air New Zealand many times; Usually fly Air New Zealand, but service and overall standards no there as good as 15-40 years ago; they used to be great.

I really enjoyed my flights with Singapore airlines. Very curteous service, very good food, on time, smooth flights, even in coach you felt like you were being taken care of. Well run, clean operation, I'd fly them again in a heartbeat.
