Mon Jan 04 2010it can be frustrating shopping at Christmas. over the years I have found ways to make it easier. I am done within one week of Christmas. just do not have the patience to do last minute shopping. bought a lot of gift cards. most people we know request them and are happy to get them.{ there are still some die hards who hate gift cards but they are in the minimum}did some shopping online. good for the most part expect hoping they get delivered on time. as for family who all live in the same house we have all gone out shopping together for each other and just spread out in the store and not looked in each other's carts.maybe it is tacky that way but cuts down on the days I have to go out. In Michigan we get to deal with winter weather so the less I have to go out the better. I also stopped going early on Black friday...the deals are not that great to put up with the crowds.

Mon Jan 04 2010Christmas Shopping a few days before the day is absolute hell. Even the most calmest and serene of human beings have an ugly side that comes out during this time. Kids screamning with temper tantrums, elbows flying, over-crowding. People carry on like the end of the world is nigh. Best time to do Christmas shopping? At least a few weeks before.

Fri Jan 01 2010I stopped buying people Christmas presents and in return I do not receive any either. Best decision I ever made, I recommend it to everyone. Not buying someone a Christmas present doesn't mean that you don't care about the person. You can give things that aren't material.

Sun Dec 20 2009The thing I hate most about shopping malls in general is getting stuck behind a row of old people that you cannot pass no matter how hard you try. So what I hate the most about shopping around the Holidays is that the number of old people walking is multiplied and they have their grandchildren.

Thu Dec 17 2009Someone was threatened with a gun over a parking space yesterday here in Phoenix... UPDATE: It gets better. She (yes, she) had her teenage son ditch the gun in a store.

Thu Dec 17 2009Fortunately, I can just stay home to do this. Shopping in stores is for suckers, and people who shop at malls this time of year are certifiably insane (see numbah's review for proof). It's practically 2010...save yourself some grief and shop online.

Fri Nov 21 2008Gotta find the lulls to do my shopping. I don't like being run over by a gillion people as I shop.

Sat Nov 01 2008i love to shop. its one of the things i do well but for some reason i hate shopping during the holidays. too much pressure. too many people and too high of prices.

Sat Nov 01 2008I don't really mind shopping because I do it before everything gets crazy is decemeber. also online shopping helps alot. I avoid at all costs places like walmart in december..My nerves cannot stand all the pushing and waiting in line and chaos.

Fri Oct 31 2008I don't like shopping even when it isn't around Christmas. It just gets worse around Christmas. This is another reason why I don't hate Wal-Mart like so many of you do. It's one stop Christmas shopping.

Fri Oct 31 2008I don't know. Shopping isn't too bad. I usually do it a couple days before plus there is always online. It's not like there is only one store out there.

Fri Oct 31 2008What's holidays have to do with this useless, misery producer? Unless, I can eat it, drive it, or f*** it, my wallet stays home.

Fri Oct 31 2008Most of my friends are a lot like me, so I can shop at the liquor store and the book store and have everything done quickly.

Thu Oct 30 2008I would rather stay home than to face a mall full of shoppers. To me, this is not what the holiday is all about anyway.

Thu Oct 30 2008Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall....I hate shopping. Thank God for the internet.

Thu Oct 30 2008Shopping is only fun when you're shopping for yourself.......did I just say that!?!

Thu Oct 30 2008The reviewer below has it just right- the internet makes this holiday chore much more manageable. . .

Thu Oct 30 2008I am not a cheap man...far from it, but I have spent time in psychiatric wards...professionally and otherwise...and going into a department store, or a mall during the holidays is not dissimilar...except the stores bubble with neurosis and angst from under-medicated shoppers that are pressed into service by fear. Even during the "off season", all of my energy drains out of me when I open the door to a mall. I don't go into those places unless I know exactly what I'm looking for and where it is. Being off that grid does have its rewards...

Sun Mar 25 2007I hate it with a passion!

Sun Mar 25 2007Eek...this is me. I must enjoy consumption because I like reading, shopping, and eating in that order. Or maybe it's reading, eating, and shopping because I don't have as much as I'd like to spend. Books are not a problem because I have an academic library and public library right by me so I can check books out to my heart's content. Shopping....oh God, do I really need another reddish-brown lipstick?

Thu Mar 15 2007I could easily become a shop-a-holic. However, I have been delivered from that burden by lack of proper funding.

Wed Mar 14 2007If it didn't involve money, it wouldn't be so bad...

Sun Jan 28 2007Shop til you drop? Nah, that's boring to me.

Thu Jun 09 2005I love online shopping. It's great to be able to go to a website, type in what you want, and BAM! there it is. No going to a store and wandering around trying to find it, no standing in line waiting to buy it, and no dealing with unknowing employees who don't know for sure if they even carry it, whatever it may be. The only downside is that you have to wait a week or so before you get whatever you bought, so it doesn't work to well for last minute stuff. I do ALL my Christmas shopping online, who wants to deal with the crowds? As far as security, I've been shopping online for eight years or so, and I haven't had a problem yet.

Tue Apr 05 2005Since the WWW has become too crassly overcommercialized, I avoid any form of ecommerce rigoriously. Shopping on the WWW isn't very useful to someone who lives in a large urban area anyway because of all the discount and dollar stores, thrift stores, flea markets and department stores, etc., available without the need to pay any shipping cost. The only reason I can see where WWW shopping would be useful is for someone who lives in a rural area, or for some very hard to find items. a farmer, for instance, can buy seeds, or perhaps a certain collectable item. WWW shopping, actually is the same as purchasing merchandise through a catalog, and many catalogs feature hard to find, or business/industrial type of products. There will also be issues of security and fraud. traditional catalogs, for now are more secure.

Sun Feb 06 2005For my family it's very addicting to waist money on a bunch of crap you don't need.

Sat Jul 24 2004If you spend too much cash, don't save money for bills and other essential items, and use the credit card too much then it can be a problem.

Sat Jan 24 2004You can definately get better deals online compared to the high street... I have bought quite a bit from the internet such as christmas and birthday presents from a wide range of websites. I'm currently trying to scope out a good deal on a digital camera - so if anyone knows of any really good websites let me know...

Fri Jan 23 2004I would like to buy stuff online but I can't cause I'm too young.

Sun Jan 11 2004I'd rather shop online than go to Wal-Mart and deal with the incompetent.
by tvtator
Sat Nov 22 2003I do it once in a while, but there are some cool places to shop online. Best places to shop besides amazon.com or ebay are department stores who have online shopping because they usually can be trusted.

Mon Oct 20 2003I've been buying more and more products online lately, since my tastes tend to go towards hard to find books, cds, etc. Plus I hate driving in traffic to go to a stare which may or may not have what I'm looking for.

Fri May 16 2003Even though I have been online for many years, I was always rather nervous about shopping online. The fact that I would enter my credit card number and send it to someone’s machine that was who knows how far away un-nerved me just a bit. And even though now, I will shop at a few places online, I still try to be very careful when it comes to giving out sensitive information. I also examine my bank statements very closely for anything that looks odd. But over all, the more I do it, the better I feel about buying items online. Because I don’t like standing in long lines at the stores, not to mention finding a parking place at most of them in my area, online is a great way to purchase things, IF one is careful.
by reenyf4b
Thu Apr 03 2003I have shopped online and so far I have not had any problems yet, but you have to be wary when using such sensitive information like your credit card numbers or debit card numbers.

Sat Jan 18 2003I like to shop online because the prices can be much lower.

Sat Sep 07 2002I partly agree with Galomorro's comment, I'm not a big shopping fanatic either. However I always get so paranoid whenever I consider ordering something from the internet especially if it's from another country and it requires for me to give out my creditcard number. I always remember all the warnings I've gotten (courtesy of my mother) about people stealing the numbers and then stealing my money. I would love to let go of all my fears and just throw myself into the internet shopping market, but I just can't do it... not yet.

Wed May 08 2002when the local stores can't provide me with anything, the net is the last resorve.

Fri Jan 18 2002I do love going to the mall, despite all the hassles. I also love to try on clothes and shoes and stuff before I buy them and you can't do that shopping on-line. Shopping on-line may have it's advantages, but I'll take a trip to the mall with Daddy's credit card any day.

Wed Jan 16 2002I wholeheartedly approve of online shopping. I hate waiting in lines. I detest stores that have a limited selection available so that I cannot find what I want locally. Online shopping usually means you have a larger selection and do not have to hassle the crowds, but can shop whenever you want in the comfort of your own home.
