I don't care if you wear socks, shoes, clothes, or underwear...but I reserve the right to wear all of the above as I deem necessary - regardless of the desires or dictates of the twits of the day. And if you do decide to nix the socks, shoes or undies please do feel free to sit downwind of me.

In my opinon black pumps with 4 inch heels at the bottom of long sexy legs look WAY better without socks. As far as the subject of whether you should wear socks with sneakers goes, I fail to see how that has any place in a discussion of fashion.

If I could wear shoes without socks (sneakers, not dress shoes) without having very smelly sneakers I would do so more often. I think sneakers look goofy with shorts and the traditional "Dad socks"; the white ones with the high band. I compromise with the ankle socks which sort of make it look like I'm not wearing any socks at all.

To me, shoes without socks are as goofy looking as sandals with socks.

to each their own. I would prefer socks with most shoes. depends on what kind of shoes you are wearing. i made the mistake of wearing sandals that had backs on themjthese were more like regular shoe that had open spaces like sandals.{ the slip on sandals i always go without socks} without socks and wore a very nasty blister on my heel which got badly infected. and swollen. fever, pretty ill with that so be careful which shoes you go without socks with.

Wear socks with crocs, and none with dress shoes. Freakin sneakers are so far out, I can barely remember what they are.

I wouldn't call it outrageous, but in addition to making your shoes stink, I personally think it looks dumb. Every time I see someone do this I'm reminded of my dad who had a pair of blue puma sneakers during the 80s that he never wore socks with. Eventually he got a new pair of sneakers and we were able to convince him to wear socks. The way too short khaki shorts that he always wore with them took a little longer to replace with something tasteful.

GROSS!! Your feet will get really sweaty and nasty in general, and so will your shoes, no matter how clean you are. The job of socks, other than keeping you warm, is to minimize this effect. As a guy, I always wonder why some women wear closed-toe shoes without socks, because I like to think that girls are really clean, so I hate to imagine how nasty their feet must be getting due to this. Plus...I don't think it looks cute AT ALL, just nasty. Why not just wear flip flops or sandals if it is too hot to wear socks? It looks MUCH better and it's much better for your feet. Whenever I see anyone, male or female, wearing covered shoes (including clogs and flats) without socks, my mind says GROSS. OK now, when October rolls around and it's time to wear covered shoes, PLEASE WEAR SOCKS!!!

Wearing no-show socks is the real way to go (I always have a pair of no-shows on when I wear my American Eagle sneakers). Once in a while I'll go sockless, and the feeling is great (I only go sockless when it's laundry day).

Wearing shoes without socks feel a lot better. I just put lotion on my feet to keep my feet from the stench. I never liked wearing socks.

I can imagine the stench after these shoes come off, something like cheese, barrel, and vinegar. Yikes!

it looks great and it feels great. i think, actually, to prevent them from smelling bad, you just have to switch shoes on a daily basis. i've got 60 pairs (call me insane if you want), so that's no problem.

The trick is to give the illusion of no socks.

Shoes without socks are the complete high limit of cool style. Anyone wg\ho says otherwise simply does not get it. Any shoe that is comfortable without socks is what should be worn, unless your feet are cold. All of of the time use Odor-Eaters and foot powder, both for additional comfort and reduction of potential odor problems.

Sneakers should NEVER be worn with socks! Sockless is the only way to go---it looks sexy! I am a high school teacher and I will tell you that almost no one wears sneakers with socks now! It just isn't done! And kids who do wear socks with sneakers get made fun of.

OH man,,, i wear no socks with my sneakers or dressy sneakers quite often in summer,,, I find other peoples reaction to when they see that,, or when you take off ure shoes quite funny,,, actually Priceless,... IT's funny how something that was liek "A MUST STYLE" a few years ago, has actually become so repulsive to people// GOes to show u the power of PoP culture, and how shallow and close minded society is nowadays.

I have never worn socks with sneakers or any footwear-they just do not feel good & are too hot and stifling, in addition to being too time-consuming to keep cleaned & sorted. In summer, sneaks get too hot & sweaty with or w/o socks, so I wear sandals then. Mild spring & fall days are perfect for sneaks, mocs, clogs or loafers sockless, when it gets too cool for sandals. Cold weather is the perfect time for fleece-lined boots sockless if I am going to be outside for extended periods. Odor is not an issue unless the same pair is worn every day which I avoid doing.

I was recently turned onto this by one of my friends who never wear socks. He told me it felt better and was more comfortable so I decided to try it. I LOVE IT! My feet are more free, cooler, and I love the feeling of my sneakers against my bare feet. After reading up on it, I found out that Dolly from The Family Circus cartoon, Mary Kate and Ashley, and Hugh Jackman all never wear socks.

This isn't too bad, lookwise... but healthwise, it's not good for one's feet, and could make them stink. I think the sockless look with sneakers is cute, myself, but I value my feet. Whenever I want this look, I wear ultra-short socks -- ones that hardly show above the top of the shoe. Now sandals and flip-flops are a different story, there is plenty of room for the feet to breathe -- therefore, they're okay (if not better) to wear without socks.

Wearing sneakers without socks is the ONLY way to wear sneakers. I hardly wear socks in my sneakers. I been wearing my sneakers without socks for over 20 years. It feels good on my bare feet to wear sneakers without any socks. And There is nothing wrong with not wearing any socks in your sneakers, or other types of shoes. Today, I see more people wear their sneakers without socks, because I assume it is more comfortable to wear your sneakers sockless.

O'h my goodness. When I was in my teens it was wrong to wear socks with trainers (sneakers), if you wore them no-one could see them as you were given a thorough roasting if they could - particularly other teenagers. NOW, I cannot even imagine wearing no socks with sneakers, it would look too nifty.
