This is an incredible song, one that uses word imagery to the fullest and most genius songform. Billy is simply telling it how it is (regarding women) and that what every great songwriter should do. This is NOT a love song or a sappy song, this is a brilliant piece of song commentary on the social nature of women.

See, to me, this is one of his songs that makes the mark. It's a little more complicated and more purely beautiful than "Just The Way You Are" and other ballads that are all slicked back, what with their jazzy chords and saxophone solos. I could listen to this song over and over. It is one of those sweeping melodies that would convince me that Billy Joel is a good songwriter, and I can't say the same for some of his other songs.

This song is actually pretty insulting to ladies if you listen to the words.
