I don't know whether the reason I I gave her a 2 star rating is because I don't think she's alternative/Indie at all, or because I think she's really boring.

One of my favorite singer/songwriters. Whenever I'm in an acoustic mood, I love just relaxing and playing her songs. =)

She's okay, but I think she got more mileage out of her thang with Lance Armstrong and from flashing her hardbody.  Now that Lance is dismissed, she's travelling with that hard-looking actress [whose last name is Davis] and I heard her refer to the woman as her "companion."  Uh...riiiiiiiiiiiiiight...Okay, men...she's done with us (for the time being); time to take it elsewhere [;^)

Though not a bad artist, Sheryl Crow is rather bland in my opinion. She certainly started out promising with her debut "Tuesday Night Music Club" (1993) with singles like "Leaving Las Vegas" and "All I Wanna Do". Her sound was relatively fresh even during the waxing of a slew of female singer-songwriters, but Crow never really progressed much notwithstanding some additional flashes (e.g. "Everyday Is A Winding Road" and her strong cover of "The First Cut Is The Deepest"). The bottom line is there just isn't much exiting about Sheryl Crow, but I don't really detest any of her work either.

Hate her music and politics, but she is a hot MilF. I always though Counting Crows and Cheryl Crow ought have a merger of equals and call themselves Sheryl & the Counting Crows.

Jeez, I don't know, maybe it's me. It seems to me as the years go by, our culture becomes blander and blander and almost anyone, given the right backing and promotion, can become a Star. In the old days, you had Billie Holiday, or Janis Joplin, or Grace Slick...in other words, people of great, almost otherworldly talent. Forget what you thought of them personally. Obviously, their personal lives were a disaster. But their artistic accomplishments, even after all these years, can leave one speechless with awe at the beauty we humans are occasionally capable of producing. And then I listen to someone like Cheryl Crow. Not really good. Not really bad. Not really...anything, in my opinion. Surely there's someone more capable, more inspired as a songwriter, more gifted as a singer, than Ms. Crow. I mean, nothing against her personally, as I don't really know anything more about her than that she had a thing going with Kid Rock, and surely that can't be held against her for the rest of her l... There's nothing revolutionary or new she brought to the scene but she writes good songs and sings them even better. She's kind of a hippie, or has a free-spirited attitude and her messages like I'm gonna go soak up the sun, i'm gonna tell everyone to lighten up or everyday is a winding road, are so simple yet it's stuff that we forget too often we need to hear again

Sheryl Crow has a weak, thin, whiny voice. I wish she would hang up her guiter and ride off into the sunset.

Crow is okay. Where she may have a lot of original good songs...she is beginning to ruin many others. Like her remake of Guns N Roses' Sweet Child of Mine...or a remake i recently listened to of Nirvana's The Man Who Sold the World. She is starting to venture into remakes and losing focus on her own music.

This woman really never could carry a tune. However, the further in her career she goes, she does make progress with her voice, which is probably because she can afford voice lessons, I don't know. I did like that song about leaving Las Vegas that she did, but other than that...bleah !

Probably the least genuine performer in "rock" today. She was sold to the public as a product "exemplifying pure rock n roll like they played in the 70s", yet everything I've heard has been over-produced and over-hyped generic music. This person tries very hard to be something she is not, and her music is poorly realized, derivative mimicry of superior rock music that had been written 20 years prior. She seems to show up at every sporting event or awards show, much more often than other performers with similar "talents", which is a clear indication that she is nothing more than a product placed there by the record label to gain "face time". Recently, 60 Minutes has the nerve to feature Sheryl Crow and her "remarkable staying power in a fickle industry", which sickened me because Crow was a product to begin with and even the 60 Minutes gig was no doubt set up by her sponsors / financial backers. I really hate to rip this woman so hard, but I have had no problem seeing through her phonin... Read more

Sheryl Crow and her music are very irritating. She's not much of a singer, her lyrics stink, and she's totally unoriginal.

It is obvious that Sheryl Crow envy Christina and Britney's age. Crow has already been a grown and aging woman over 40 year old. Her songs do reflect a voice of maturity woman. But it never means she is such a woman too. What she acts in public just thrashes her ugly mouth back and kick her big buttocks up. She lambaste C & B havng shown too much:"Those poor girls...Where do you go after you've been 19 and you've stuck your crotch on a camera lens in front of 20,000 people". Well let's see what sheryl crow do. She first pretended to be a maturity and modern woman from 34-year-old and scathed Britney and Christina as porn star when she is approaching 40-year old, and made plastic surgery on her nose and buttocks sphincter, after all that she wore bikini on STUFF magazine, which hit newsstands on Wednesday, Feb. 13 and leaks triangle shorts in music video when she has over 40 although she looks not bad in that. But she has lost her image in public. "Make a change, it will do her good!"... Read more

When she first came out I was somewhat impressed; she seemed fresh and honest and respectable as far as integrity goes. She makes her influences clear so it's obvious she has good taste in music, but her music itself is so light and catchy, not to mention repetitive, that I can't help but assume it's the ultra-hipness, good looks and ability to party like a "band-aid" that earned her friendship with the classic artists of the past. I had a unique respect for her but the more I think about it the more I must agree with some of the critics up in here. Before I thought she had an appreciable integrity and dedication to real rock and roll, but now that I think about it I can totally see the network execs picking up a sexy young woman, letting her think she's this queen-of-rock-revival-james-dean-wannabe so that she'll sign to a very nonrisky and highly marketable sound without pause.

Sheryl Crow has had so many number one hits over the years it's not even funny! Just because she doesn't go around half dressed that should not mean that she sucks. Sheryl even writes most of her own stuff unlike most of the crap today that people create for some half wit to strut around to with half her clothes missing. Sheryl has a unique voice and her lyrics actually mean something. Keep on sending em' out girl!

A pretty-good singer/songwriter who's paid her dues and come by her success honestly, which is more than can be said for many "successful" acts these days. She’s neither as great as the establishment (e.g., the Grammy voters) would have us believe, nor as awful as her detractors make her out to be.

Sheryl Crow used to write excellent songs, and Tuesday Night Music Club, The Globe Sessions, and her self titled release are all good albums. Lately, however, she seems to be "going pop" and writing trash like "Soak Up The Sun" which might just be one of the most pointless songs I have ever heard. Her last album just did not live up to what she delivered with her first three. Sherl seems to have lost her ability to write songs with meaning and feeling.

pretty lame in terms of a modern "rock" woman. give me bonnie ratt over her anyday--even better give me the battered and bruised muses of Lucinda Williams. I used to believe there was something more to sheryl crown then the half dressed swagger she gave off. but her latest, C'mon C'mon has proven me wrong. Not only is Sheryl Crow incapable from escaping the so-called Celebrity she has--she embraces it. she's also a hypocrite, calling pop stars porn and lambasting Britney Spears, while letting herself appear in various states of undress in cheap magazines like Stuff...hey, i'm not bitching, i think Sheryl is as hot as hell. i'm just trying to state that once the chips are spread out there isnt much there in the way of substantial rock talent.

I guess Sheryl Crow is a lightweight in the overall musical scheme of things, but I like her. Well, actually I can't stand that "All I Wanna Do Is Have Some Fun" song anymore, but there are some pretty good songs on her last two CDs that haven't been played into the ground like the stuff from "Tuesday Night Music Club."
