Mon Aug 18 2008I had my doubts about this product, because the size dimensions seemed to be too large to meet standard airline carry-on requirements. I bought two for my two cats to move across the country. I was very paranoid that I'd show up the morning of my 7 am flight only to be told the bags were too big to fit under the seats. So I made a special trip to the airport to check with the United attendants. She saw the bag and immediately said, "Oh yes, those are the good ones." I asked specifically about the size, and she said yes, the size is good. Turns out, the dimensions airlines give for carry-ons are meant for hard-sided containers only. Soft-sided ones - like this bag - can be squished slightly to fit. My two cats were perfect on both legs of the flight and we all made it to our new home safely. I had read some of the reviews that said their cats were able to get out of the bag by unworking the zipper, so I bought inexpensive luggage locks (zip ties would also work) to put on the... Sun Jul 13 2008The information states that this product will work with US Airways. But the height is 17" with a wire making it impossible to bend it down to the U.S. Airways maximimum height of not more than 15". I called Sherpa three times-no one answered in their Customer Services Section. On the fourth try, I got someone in account (no one from Customer Service picked out). The Accounting Person verified that this size was too big for most airlines. Petco required that I had to bring the bags back with a copy of the receipt from their confirmation (since I don't have a printer, that was difficult). But they eventually gave me my money back. Buyer, be aware. You can't use these bags on airplanes.

Sun Mar 09 2008This item is perfect. It fit under the seat neatly and was easy to place there. My puppy was very content. He uses the sherpa pad as a comfort item now, as it easily removes. The vented sides with the velcro closures were useful and the construction was high quality.

Tue Feb 19 2008I've been struggling with a hard-sided "Kabin Kennel" for years, and this was SO much easier for me and my cat. She seemed a lot more relaxed, and didn't rub her nose raw meowing through hard plastic airholes. Instead of having a metal handle that cut my hand, these two carry straps let me balance her on my hip -- I didn't really need the shoulder strap. I liked the velcro-closed end flaps that let me hide her or peek at her. Top or endloading made it easier to get her inside (not to mention to leave it in the living room as a bed; I put catnip in it for a few weeks beforehand and fed her treats there to convince her it wasn't all bad). That also made it easier to get her in and out at security. The fleece liner wandered a bit under her and I put a second liner beneath it as a precaution, but I think she liked the snuggly fleece. I'm so grateful I had this thing; it just happened to be the first time I had a serious delay while travelling with kitty. The zip pocket was great fo... Read more

Thu Dec 13 2007I bought this bag a year ago and have been extremely happy with it. My cat seems very comfortable it, and I actually use it all the time now instead of her hard carrying case. The bag fits perfectly under the seat of an airplane, and even though the sides are mesh, most people don't realize there's a pet inside, so it doesn't draw any attention at the airport. Also, there's a zippable flap on one end, as well as on the top, so it's very easy to get your pet in and out quickly (like in the security line). This is a great product for anyone who travels with their pet! One thing - this bag is meant to carry a pet 15 pounds or smaller, and I've found that to be pretty accurate.
