Fri May 30 2008Raven doesnt really watch this show, but I heard Bert or Ernie died of aids. Not very appropriate for the age group that watches it!!! In my opinion....

Mon Mar 24 2008I don't think I could really sit through a whole episode of Sesame Street anymore, but as far as kids shows go, it's defintely one of the best. I don't know how things with kids programming really are today, but when I was little, Sesame Street was one of about two or three children's shows that was both educational and entertaining almost 100% of the time.

Fri Mar 21 2008I was in 3rd or 4th grade (dont remember) when this came out and watched it then. It was a new concept and more interesting than Electric Company. Now I havent seen it in awhile but they seem to introduce political issues such as being gay or having people of different races. I say good for them.

Tue Mar 04 2008This rating is for the current show format. The originals were the best as it teaches you the society, manners, letters and numbers. Now it is geared towards culturality, and more of Elmo's world that it lacks most of its originality and luster. I admitedly was watching the whole show until about my mid-teens and when Slimey returned to earth after his voyage to the moon, a lot has changed from there on. I would not get why they added Journey to Ernie, but Sesame Street after the death of Jim Henson, Joe Raposo, Wally (Bill McCutcheon), David (Northern Calloway), the original Gordon (Matt Robinson), Mr. Hooper (Will Lee), Jeff Moss, Rusty Magee and Edward L. Palmer, (they are major contributors-whew!) it seems disorganized and some of the songs are not memorable. The show is showing that it is drinking a little bit of lye too.Unless it can rebound and stay true to education and storyline than be more towards fun, I would not have my children watch this at home as it would not let them ... Thu Oct 26 2006I have a distinct feeling that this one will be around till the end of time. It was one of the few shows I would allow my son to watch when he was a toddler and now, 20 some odd years later, I encourage my grand children to watch it as well.

Thu Oct 20 2005Still a wonderful show after all these years. My daughter has learned so much from Sesame Street. AND it provides a bit of nostalgia for me. :o)

Thu Aug 11 2005When I was a kid, I'd watch it every time it came on until I was in 3rd grade and it was great. Now that I'm an adult, the show has gone down hill with the addtion of whinnie bratty Elmo and turning Cookie Monster into the Healthy Monster. My kids watch this show, but I can stay in the same room with them when its on.

Tue May 10 2005A classic children's show that teaches them the basics for starting school. The only problem that I find is that sometimes they push too hard at making the point and the storylines are of little importance which can make the show get repetitive. And what's with the new cookie monster!

Fri Nov 12 2004Out of all the children's shows listed here, Sesame Street is by far the best. The fact that it's older than some of the kids (and even some adults) who star in it is a feat in itself. Good educational benefit, also.

Sat Nov 06 2004Still wonderfully educational and entertaining after 35 years.

Fri Apr 23 2004This has to be one of the most creative, interesting, entertaining, educational and most importantly least patronising children's show EVER! I do not know one child that didn't enjoy Sesame Street growing up or one parent who was against their child watching this programme. The way this show chooses to tackle not just educational, but life issues with children is just credible. Learning is always fun on Sesame Street and even when they show brief advertisments its still fun and educational.

Sat Apr 03 2004OMG who hasen't watched this show. Thanks to Big Bird and Grover that's probably how I learned to count and know my abc's. I also remember learning to count to 10 in spanish thanks to Maria. And now my kids watch it. I hope it stays on forever.

Thu Aug 28 2003I'm just getting into "Sesame Street," and I think it's terrific. The characters are charming and interesting, and the show's content is age-apppropriate, engaging, and challenging. I like the way the show features well-known personalities as guests, and I especially enjoy the musical performances. Since I'll most likely be watching this show for years, I'm grateful it's one that I find appealing, too.
