Thu May 03 2007tracey austin and martina hingis abouve serena williams are you serious... yea ok hingis was a fabulous player demolishing the tour in only her teens, but she still only won 5 grandslams... And if i'm correct tracey only 2.. And they were no where near the way Serena did it.. No player has striked fear in players like Serena Williams.. Even on a bad day if she is willing to fight i can't think of many players that can handily beat her... Serena top 5 defintly

Sun Mar 12 2006Gorgeous women, with a beautiful smile, a strong, athletic body, and a butt to die for. Top of the list for me (along with Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lopez)

Mon Feb 06 2006I am surprised that her rating is so high. Personally, I think that she thinks more about fashion than she does about tennis. She insulted the french, then she cried when they booed her. I love a woman with big breast, large thighs, and a big butt, however not so much with Serena. I'm sure people will disagree with me, but she reminds me of a drag queen. Her thighs and arms look too muscular and her face looks very manly to me. I don't want a girl that looks like she could "break me" in two. Meh

Fri Apr 08 2005Serena has a powerful serve, powerful technique, speed, and everything...WHEN SHE's CONCENTRATING/FIT ON HER GAME. Serena is so interested into many things such as acting and fashion that it's very hard to commit 100% to her game. She has retired 3 times ALREADY for 2005, where not even halfway through the year!. She should really manage her time better if she wants to defend her I am number one, I love me, I love everything about me etc... It's quite difficult to argue with these statements when she wins a huge tournament like the '05 Australian open. Her clothing on court can get distracting to some people. If she wants to boast about herself and stuff, she needs to prove it ALL THE TIME. Serena, you can't just retire a match and then tell everyone that you're the best. You shouldn't be telling everyone this if you're not sure you're going to survive these tournaments. Get your game back! Wake-up! You're my favorite, I love you!

Thu Apr 07 2005shes awesome! This girl can kick butt!

Mon Mar 21 2005can become one of the greatest. but her career is to short up to now to judge that. she has all the things a real champion should have. but we ll have to see how often she will be injured in future and if she is able to stay on top for some years. in every case: a true champion.
by fxanc39d
Tue Feb 22 2005difficult to judge. she has all what a real great player needs. she dominated a period of time. she brought a new level to womens tennis. but watching her of a longer period she just has to prove that she is consitantly on that high level. would be nice to see her competing with hardenne, both at their best. she can defeat everyone who actually is playing. so she gets all points.

Tue Jan 04 2005SHE GOT GAME, SHE GOT STYLE AND SHE'LL BE AROUND FOR A LONG TIME. LOOKS A LOT BETTER SINCE SHE STOPPED WEARING THE BEADS IN HER HAIR. SOME PEOPLE MIGHT THINK SHE'S NOT AS GOOD AS THE OTHER PLAYERS, BUT UNLESS YOU'RE A STRAIGHT FRUITCAKE, YOU KNOW YOU WOULD HIT THAT BOOTY IF YOU COULD!! NO OTHER FEMALE IN THE GAME IS BUILT LIKE HER.

Tue Jan 04 2005The Serena Slam, enuff said!

Thu Nov 18 2004Greatest athlete, sportswoman of our time, she is the most recognized female sports figure in the world, theres a reason because shes so damn good
by rezchick
Tue Nov 16 2004Best there was and ever will be, you can only truly experience her awesome power until you see her play live, watching her serve, im amazed that these woman can get a serve back like that
by alkycanuck
Tue Nov 16 2004Greatest female tennis player ever. Those who think of her as cocky and obnoxious, youve got it confused with confidence and self believe, i had the pleasure of meeting her at the rogers at&t; cup in montreal, asked for an autograph and she said anything for a fan
by fluffytuffy
Mon Sep 13 2004I will say she is a good player, but frankly, every time I see her, whether on the courts in in a magazine photo, I can only think she looks like a guy who had a sex change operation! Not a feminine bone in her body, not a feminine face! She looks like a guy in drag. I heard sportscasters joking during the Olympics about Eastern Europe women being built like 'guys' maybe they should admit the same about Serena! Yikes!
by reallydrummer
Thu Sep 02 2004Serena is physically the most dominating female tennis player of all time. Her strength can't be matched. Mentally, she is not all together. She lets her stress affect her play and she has her thoughts in too many different directions outside of tennis. If she could get her mental act together completely, there shouldn't be anyone in the world that she couldn't beat. I personally think she is arrogant and expects to win just because of who she is. If she doesn't work on her thought processes, she will continue to decline as she has in 2004 -- she may never see the top 10 again.

Sat Jul 31 2004Cocky, tough and muscled up like no other! Absolutely the best body and most talented on the court!
by aetimfe5
Mon Jul 26 2004When she first emerged onto the tennis scene she was overshadowed by her sister, Venus. Now, four years later, you can only ask: Venus who? Serena is the real deal in tennis, and she is probably the most talented player in the world today (even with her loss to Sharapova at the Wimbledon final). Until someone comes along (Sharapova might be the only one with ability) who can knock her off her game, say hello to the 2004 Olympic Champion. Way to go Serena, and what a great role model for tennis players in the USA and the world.

Fri Jul 16 2004I'm gonna simply say this. When Serena gets her head together, she is going to be a major force to be reckoned with again. Remember now, she has no points to defend until the Erickson March of 2005. Anyone not want to bet that if she stays healthy she will return to the number one spot?
by flyguydsl
Tue Jul 13 2004WELL SHE IS THE REAL DEAL. But don't get so damned cocky. Would love to see her dethroned. However, she is truly amazing to watch.
by bird808
Sat Jul 03 2004In the four years that I've watched Sarena her attitude towards the game and her players has matured considerably. Sarena plays better in Semi-Final games, (Mauresmo 2004 Wimbledon, Hingis Australia 2001, Capriati 2003 Wimbledon) theres more hunger from her side to succeed and she always feels she has more to proove. I think when she gets to the finals thats when she calms down a lot more and seems more grateful for getting that far. For me she is a true champion whose worked hard and has learnt to accept defeat and knows that she can always pick herself up, try again and maybe even win. That outlook is worth more than any trophy.
by jamestkirk
Mon May 17 2004The most dominating, currently. She is, however, bound and determined to have the world see her physical features based on her style of dress.
by ninobene
Sun Apr 18 2004Cocky and tough. She brings an I'm-kicking-your-ass-today attitude like nobody since Martina. Mentally tougher than Venus, and most of the rest of the tour wilts in front of her.
by handy16f
Sun Mar 28 2004Serena is a great tennis player--one of the best ever. She is very talented and very beautiful. She is as beautiful as Anna Kournikova. But what I like best about Serena is that she has a sweet, lovely smile. She's also the best female tennis player in the world.
by zoe_blime
Sun Feb 01 2004This girl is good. That's all I can say.
by the_real_truth
Fri Nov 14 2003Brings intelligence to a sport that needed it. The most talented female tennis player of all time. Also the most beautiful...explosively attractive...makes Anna Kournikova look like a little boy. The Mother of the Earth!!!

Sat Aug 09 2003I love Serena !!! I am so tired of people putting her and Venus down because they win all the tournaments etc. Hey, they deserve to be where they are. They practiced and worked hard since they were around 5 years old. How many of us have that determination? And as far as saying they have attitude, Serena is awesome in interviews, I look forward to listening to her. She's charming, intelligent and funny.
by andrewscott
Wed Jun 25 2003Whether you root for her or against her, she's one of the most interesting players to watch. She is much more openly emotional than her sister, and when she channels her fierce raw power, she rips the cover off the ball. Her shots are simply gorgeous to see.

Mon Jun 23 2003If one does not count Monica "Yell"es Serena Williams is thee most obnoxious woman in tennis today. And please - all you bleeding heart liberals out there - don't insult me with I am being racist or some other "gross" remarks. If Williams was purple, she would still be thee most obnoxious woman in tennis today.

Mon Jun 09 2003Serena is an absolute goddess on the court and the French should be ashamed of themselves. I think the Williams' sisters should both boycott the "Freedom" open in 2004
by aenzhru
Wed May 28 2003I've followed tennis since the mid '80s and thus have seen the likes of Martina Navritalova, Chris Evert Lloyd, Aranxa Sanchez Vicario, Gabriela Sabatini, Monica Seles, and Steffi Graff. They were all top-notch in their era -during their careers. The Williams sisters are proof that athletes evolve from decade to decade. Serena and her sister both have ridiculously-incredible games. They hit the ball as hard as some men with incredible accuracy, they can both hit laser beams running the opposite direction, cross court from 20 feet beyond the baseline with more angle than you might think possible (hence, their groundstrokes are "wicked-sick") their serves are very powerful and even their volley games rival those of ANY past women tennis players I've ever seen. In a synopsis, even early in their careers, both Williams sisters are ALREADY the two best female tennis players I've ever seen. Steffi Graf comes close but I still give the Williams the advantage. Graff's forte was her fore... Read more

Sat May 17 2003Pure power, but not much thinking going on. Everyone says what a great athlete she is, but basically it's nothing but brute strength that she has. No grace around the court whatsoever. In fact, she looks pretty awkward. And those clothes she wears makes it look like she gets her wardrobe tips from a blind circus clown.

Thu Apr 17 2003I think Serena Williams is the best tennis player in the 20th Century. She has such a powerful swing.

Tue Mar 18 2003The biggest chest and the biggest grunt since Monica in her prime. The best in the last 2 years won US b4 older sister Hope she stays healthy & plays for a long time!

Mon Feb 03 2003lots of talent but like her sister bad sport thinks she is above the game
by rahkblue
Wed Nov 27 2002Serena is on her way to be the best in the world. She has won every grand slam she entered this year. Top That anyone!
by classicmusiclo_ver
Mon Sep 02 2002The only time I have ever seen her lose was to her sister.
by scooter329
Tue Aug 27 2002I don't care about her color or her appearance. Her game speaks for itself.
by yojimborules
Sun Aug 11 2002I think she's hot. I never saw the big deal about Kournakova. Maybe it's cause I'm not a white guy.

Wed Jul 03 2002Lose the racial chip that sits on your shoulder.
by loneusfullhous_efan
Thu Jun 27 2002Like Venus Williams, does she ever lose? I am a little surprised not to see them both at the top of the list.
by hidurability
Wed Apr 24 2002She has a wonderful attitude and can beat anyone when she puts her mind to it. She obviously has a great love for the game and will go down in history as one of the best players of all time.
