Elizabeth grooms my Yorkie which was a rescue pup so she has some trust issues, but you can tell she just feels pretty when I go to pick her up. Elizabeth is to the point and gets the job done right every time! I am so glad I stumbled upon Scrub a Dub Dog Wash.

I just make sure to check the web site or their Facebook site to see what their latest hours are (as I would with any business), call ahead, then drop my dog off for grooming! No complaints. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For all those who complain about them being closed when you visit, do you likewise complain when other stores are closed? Not all businesses are open 7 days a week--do you also get mad when you drive up to a Chick-Fil-A on a Sunday, only to find it closed?!?

Don't waste your time going on a Sunday! After reading the reviews, I drove all the way there only to find out it is no longer open on Sunday.

I have called on two occassions to get pricing for my dog. The employees both times seemed put out to look up pricing, and in my opinion are way too expensive. I hate the attitude that I have received both times! I may take my dog here once to see if it is worth it, but I am hoping the facility offsets the phone service! Uuggh.....take a break if you need one, or a vacation if you are that miserable!

Great idea- check the website! To clarify, I love this place. Once I figured out the inane schedule, I gave it another chance. It is a great idea and the people there were friendly and helpful. Those wonderful qualities do not, however, excuse Scrub-A-Dub from being run like a business interested in profitability. Sunday is probably not a good day for ladies who lunch to bring their punters in to be groomed. But when was the last time your lil precious went to a dog park? All us childish lab owners that would love to love the self-serve are happy that the website has announced Self-Serve Sunday hours are BACK! (Noon-5pm, btw), but posting the regular hours on the site would be good, too.

You guys really need to update your hours. We were really lookong forward to stopping by on Sunday. How dumb is it to be closed on probably the best day of the week for business.

I've been a faithful customer of Scrub for a little more than 3 years. I consider myself faithful because in between grooming appts. I come in for self serve also. I'm probably in there every 2 weeks, I don't like my lil baby smelling like a piglet! Elizabeth is maybe one of the most considerate groomers I've ever met. She always takes her time with my Sophie, a shih tzu, and leaves her looking and smelling great! I'm very surprised at some of these negative comments, it seems like they just had a bad day and took it out on Elizabeth. I'm 100% sure that if they would've just talked to her, which it's obvious they didn't, she could've explained to them what happened. You know accidents do happen and she's not perfect. I've had things happen to my Sophie, not by Elizabeth but other groomers. As for this last person who left this very insulting comment, how dare you act so childishly? How about checking the website or calling their shop? Did you stop by their shop? I suppose you saw the ... Read more

We brought our two greyhounds in for their first grooming -- wash, dry, nail clipping, ear cleaning. We usually wash them on our back patio, but never again! Going to Scrub a Dub Dog wash was sooo easy and the staff immediately gave us comfort that they would take good care of our dogs. When we picked up our dogs, they were both happy, relaxed, and looking good. We were really pleased and will definitely go back. Thanks for the great service.

I have a fawn pug and a smooth hair dachshund and I don't understand why whenever I take them to Petsmart grooming (kirby location) it takes all day?!?! Not to mention one time they forgot to clean both dog's ears and they were still filthy after paying close to $50?!?! Anyway, after doing some research on Citysearch I've decided to try out Scrub-A-Dub Dog. My appointment started promptly @ 9am on a saturday. The facility appears to be very clean and someone (I'm guessing Elizabeth?) helped us right away. We requested a full service bath w/ teeth cleaning. The dogs were both done by 9:45 am and the price was very reasonable (about $40 for both). In addition, instead of just cutting the nails, they also file a bit using the dremmel, and of course their ears were very clean. Will definitely visit again and tell my friends.

This place is fabulous! I have been taking my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels to Scrub-A-Dub for about a year now. They always look absolutely beautiful when I pick them up and I know that are well taken care of by the way they respond to Elizabeth and her staff. Elizabeth does her best to accomodate my schedule and manages to squeeze them in even on short notice. The location is great and the rates a very reasonable. I'm so happy I found this place! I highly recommend it.

The last time I picked up my toy poodle from Scrub, the haircut was okay, but by the time I got home, he was furiously licking and chewing his feet. I took a closer look and saw that the skin on his feet was very red and there were lots of small nicks and scrapes. At least 3 of his nails had been cut so short that they had used that yellow powder to stop the bleeding. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect a groomer to be more careful shaving my poodle's feet and clipping his nails.

Whoa, can't believe these negative comments. I've been a customer for years, both for self serve and grooming. The new tubs are so much better ,my dog has never been hurt and he does so well with the restraints that are provided. I am shocked that someone would say they were hurt at Scrub, my dog has never been in better hands. My husky will continue to be a faithful four-legged client for years to come. Keep up the good work Elizabeth and Chris......

I agree 100% that Scrub-A-Dub has really gone down hill since the new owners took over. First I find out the price for my self-service wash has gone from $15 to $18 PLUS an additional $2 for the shampoo I was using. There was no longer a ramp to get my 75 lb. dog into the tub. They replaced the tubs to ones that have 3 sides. Instead of walking around the tub, I had to turn my dog around in the tub to wash his other side. No easy task. They put in these racks that sit a couple inches off the tub floor, but don't cover the whole bottom. My dog stepped off and twisted his leg. He was limping for a week. What was the extra $5 for?

I have been taking my maltese to Elizabeth for over a year now and each time she comes home looking great! I love that she doesn't put the dogs in cages, I love that you have a set appointment time and your dog doesn't have to be there all day, and most importantly I love that Elizabeth seems to love the dogs. My dog never acts scared when she leaves or when we come. A friend of mine also takes her 2 maltese to Elizabeth and is very happy with her. I recently took our new maltese there and he has a thinner and more difficult coat, and as expected Elizabeth did a great job. I'm quite surprised by the last posters comments as I have never seen Elizabeth annoyed with her customers or treat anyone rudely. We will go to Elizabeth for many years to come as long as she is there!

I always enjoyed washing my sheltie at Scrub-A-Dub under the original owner. After the sale, Elizabeth, the new owner, didn't even acknowledge my presence. I finally had to ask her a question after I had been there 30 mins. She rolled her eyes and gave a long, loud exhale before giving me the shortest answer possible. Now I go to a new dog wash that doesn't treat me like I'm a burden when I'm paying them.

This is the most wonderful groomer/groom shop in the city of Houston! Elizabeth is absolutely incredible - she is extremely personable and will remember your name and your pet the next time you come in & exactly what you want to have done. She is very accomodating and finishes in a timely manner. The shampoo they use has an incredible smell and lasts forever! Amazing customer service - highly recommended!!!

I have been to several grooming places and by far Scrub a Dub has been the best. They are very good at there grooming and bathing and you can tell they always have the utmost care for the dog in mind. I also really like the fact that they do not use cages. My entire family has used them for years and I would recommend them to anyone.

I'm so proud of Elizabeth for taking over Scrub,it couldn't be in better hands! She is an awesome groomer(excuse me pet stylist)and it's amazing how great she is with our dogs. We love the quick turnaround,it usually takes her 2 hours to do our shih tzus, and they always look and smell great. We can't wait to see what the shop will look like after the remodeling! If you're looking for a great groomer,Scrub's the place to go!

Janice and Elizabeth are the greatest. We started right after Janice opened when we lived just up the street. For the past 3 years, we have made the trip in from Sienna Plantation every other week. Dixie and Angel jump out of the car, ready to give a good morning kiss to Janice and Elizabeth and then off they go for a nice bath and grooming when needed, complete with Bandana's and Bow's. What can we say....we keep going back because their service is great and they treat our dogs, just like their own..

Janice has been great with my "SPCA Special" very hairy Aussie mix. She is patient and competent and tolerant of his many quirks. His terror of having his toes touched is just one problem she deals with patiently for his monthly bath, usually full-serve. She was always wonderful with my older shepherd for many years, caring for his arthritic hips and joints and patiently working with him to get his hair unmatted. I am there often while Elizabeth is grooming another dog, and both women keep the comfort and care of their canine charges as their first priority. We have been other places before we found Scrub-Dub and it is by far the best. I recommend it to everyone I know with dogs, and many have become regular bathing and grooming customers. Not one has ever had a single problem. Anyone with a problem here needs to look at themselves as the problem, because you will not find a more profesional or caring place to bring any dog. I look forward to many more years of association with Janice... Read more

We have used Scrub a Dub for a couple of years for both grooming and bathing, and we have been extremely pleased with all aspects of their services. Janice and Elizabeth take great care of our dogs. We have recommended Scrub a Dub highly to many other pet owners, and we know many who use and are just as pleased as we are with their services. Elizabeth is an excellent groomer and is sensitive to our dogs' personalities and needs. Our dogs always get compliments on their 'haircuts.' It is great to have such a reliable, friendly, efficient and competent grooming/bathing service in our area. Keep up the great work! PS- I too am puzzled by the negative comments offered by grahamnmaybl. Scrub a Dub is usually booked in advance for grooming appts and I can't imagine Janice or Elizabeth suggesting that their pet could be squeezed in for grooming without an appt. And I too have found both J and E to be patient, pleasant and friendly even under the busiest of circumstances.

Bentley and Walker, our 2 boys are always happy to see Elizabeth and Janice. They are clean and beautiful when I pik them up. I love it that they are there for their appointment time and I can pick them up an hour or so later. They do not have to be brought in early and locked up all day. Both ladies are courteous and have become good friends because they love and care for my dogs. Thank you Janiced and Elizabeth. Benyley and Walker will never go anywhere else.

I was shocked to see negative review by a misinformed customer. First of all, we all know the benefits of positive feedback to animals. Positive feedback works; negative feedback does not. The review seems to be contradictory. Bear in mind that Scrub a Dub Dog Wash is a self- service dog washing facility that provides safe bathing areas, shampoos, aprons, towels and pretty much what you need to make bathing your dog a fun experience for both of you. They also do have a groomer (which I use) available on certain days by appointment. Questions for grahamnmaybl: Why would you call a week in advance for a grooming appointment and then not make one? Were you perhaps calling about the self -service area? I ask this because my dog was bathed this week and I made the appointment a month ago, knowing it was a holiday weekend. It's not clear if you were wanting simply use of self-service facilities or professional grooming? There is a difference, as you know. Could that be why you were so ... Read more

Response: I do, of course, recognize the benefits of positive and negative reinforcement to animals and find it interesting that you also would compare the groomer's behavior to that of an animal. I agree that it was very base. To clarify, I called and specified that I need a grooming appointment and was told that I absolutely did not need to make one for the small amount of work that my dog would require so I followed their instructions and did not make one. I agree with you again in that I should have ignored their promises as they would not be kept. I have been to groomers throughout Austin and Denver and have never received such terrible service and will not reward it with the good tips and good reviews that I usually supply. If you own a business handling animals then you should definitely be able to deal with animals and their human owners, that is not too much to ask. I'm not asking for charm school behavior, just basic manners. I called a week in advance to make a groomi... Read more

Scrub-a-dub is a great place to take my poodle. She gets very anxious when going places so I really appreciate that Janice and Elizabeth have a policy of not putting pets in cages. They call me when my pet is done and I can go pick her up without that added worry. I have not once been disappointed with their service.

My mom and I heard about Scrub-A-Dub through a friend. We really like that the place is run very efficiently. When we make an appointment, the dogs are in and out quickly. For example, we took them at 12 and they are done at 1:30. Janice and Elizabeth really care about the animals. And, my dogs seem to enjoy going. I like the fact that they aren't caged, too. I own a bishon and a golden-doodle and their haircuts always look great! I would highly recommend the place!

I have been going to Scrub-A-Dub since shortly after Janice opened it and it is the best place I have been. I have two very large hairy dogs, and I use both the self serve and the full serve wash. Both dogs are pet therapy dogs and have to be bathed before each visit to the nursing home, hospital, etc. Janice is great and it is wonderful to leave all that hair at her place instead of at home! I highly recommend it to everyone with a dog, and I pass out her cards to other therapy dog owners all the time. Thanks, Janice

I was told about this shop by a friend of mine and I had to check it out. I called on a Wed. afternoon thinking I could get my dog in on Sat.,but was surprised to find out Elizabeth was completely booked! Well because of my job I couldn't make an appointment until the following Sat.,but it was worth the wait! Elizabeth took her time explaining to me the different styles and lengths I could choose from and we decided on a puppy cut with a teddy bear head. I picked up Charlie 1 1/2 hours later and he had never looked so good! He looked exactly like the picture of the shih tzu on their website. She's a great groomer, you've got to give her a try!

I have had a few bad experiences with groomers in town. I decided to check out Scrub a Dub Dog Wash after finding them on this website. Elizabeth did a great job with my Lhasa Apso puppy and was sensitive to her needs as an anxious dog while at the groomer. Also, I loved how my dog didn't have to hang around in a kennel around other unknown dogs all day as with other groomers. I had an appointment at noon and I picked her up after some shopping at 1:30. If you are in need of a groomer, I recommend Elizabeth!
