Too predicatable and not funny. Live-action movie was a big improvement, with self-mocking caricatures of cartoon characters...

I can still laugh at the classic Scooby-Doo episodes to this day. Who cares if it was repetative, it was a Saturday morning cartoon! Compare it to the crap of today, like sponge-bob-whatever-his-pants.

While I'll grant "Scooby-Doo" three stars based on its status as a classic and to respect the countless hours I spent during my childhood following these meddling kids and their talking canine sidekick, looking back I find a cartoon series that wasn't all that great. The stories were extremely repetitive and the adult level humor was lacking (especially when compared to, say, "Bugs Bunny"); however, I'll admit that Daphne was hot even to my child eyes.

Whay can I say? Seventies Saturday Mornings Rocked! The kids today have no idea what they're missing. In front of the TV Saturday morning 8am to 12pm is where I was. I will always miss that part of my life.

It never was my favorite by a long shot, but I did watch it when I was a kid. Let's put it this way: If I had a choice between this and Flintstones, I would definitely choose the latter.

A cartoon series that I liked a lot more as a child.Got to give Scooby-doo some credit for still being around. The plots are pretty stupid and the animation not very good.

As a child, I must have seen the many episodes of this series several times over. Although not as consistently enjoyable as Dave the Barbarian, Pokemon, or Garfield & Friends, Scooby -Doo is a fair cartoon that dares to have a laugh track. Some good puns are present, and I like how the ghost is always a criminal with a mask (And, I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids!) Parodied masterfully in Johnny Bravo's 5-star episode, Bravo Dooby Doo.

I remember coming home from school back in 1982, just to watch this show along with Bug Bunny, Woody Woodpecker, Casper the friendly Ghost, and so on. Then He-Man, Transformers, GI Joe, and the Thundercats made the 1980's the best cartoon era.

The original Scooby Doo, where are you? wasn't great. IT was charming. The antics were rpetative, but you could still enjoy them. People have been making new Scooby series (See What's New Scooby Doo?) And they have utterly failed to capture the essence of this one. This on will stand above all others.

THis show is kind of boring, but i loved scooby and shaggy. There was so much innuendo showing that they were druggies. The reason shaggy was always hungry was because he got the munchies from smokin bowls. Also, i think scooby snacks were pot brownies. And only a stoner could run in place like that! Besides, what else would you do in the back of a hippy van?

Solid Gold of the old Saturday morning cartoons. The true mark of a great cartoon is when both kids and parents liked it. My dad, who would have been in his early 40s c. 1969/70 liked watching it with me. I thought it was neat that the show had its own laugh track. I was naive enough to believe the spooks were real with each episode so I never tired of it. Scooby was cool, but Shaggy was my favorite(Give my liberty or give me Pizza...That's comedy). I thought Daphne was hot. I think Fred and Velma were not heteros. All the recent incarnations of The Doo are lame (Please club Scrappy Doo) and the movies lack edge. The best Scooby homage was the hilarious South Park episode where the Mystery Machine was manned by...Korn. The Doo is among the Top-5 during the Golden Age of Toons.

Scooby Doo was a cartoon I really enjoyed as a kid, but after watching it today I ask myself, WHY DID I LIKE THIS GARBAGE? Completely boring and way too repetitive...and Scooby can be totally annoying.....but on a plus side, I do enjoy the Scooby memorabilia that I find on occasion...

As a kid, I never really liked Scooby Doo. Frankly, having the same premise for practically every single show (It was really so-and-so in a costume! And I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for you meddlesome kids!) was more than a little dull.

Among the best of the Hanna Barbera shows. This deserves it's "classic" status.

The old Scooby-Doo was great. But this new one, is well, terrible. The music is not fun the graphics suck, and the topics(story line) are way out-of control for are youngers today.

Scooby Doo rules. He along with Snoopy are the kings of the cartoon dogs. This show is still enjoyable after all these years, and I can't say that about too many cartoon shows.

This show is so lame, it's the same thing every episode. You always know who the bad guy is and you always know that it isn't a ghost. What a stupid cartoon, plus it isn't funny! I give it two stars- one for trying and the other one for being more entertaining than the stupid Scooby-Doo movie!

I used to rush to watch it when I was little - and I was disappointed almost every time. I wanted to see a real ghost or monster but the ghost or monster always turned out to be a fake - an imposter. Now I see reruns of the show and it just seems totally dumb. Cheap animation and stupid stories. I'm surprised they still show it.

Possibly one of the most drug oriented cartoons. Think about it: Scooby gets the muchies all the time; the scooby snacks represent crack. Besides, what kind of kids do you know who go around chasing ghosts? You all know I'm kidding, right?

This show is a trip! You know Scooby and the gang were in the back of that Mystery Machine smokin' some dooby! What was the deal with them wearing the same clothes every episode?! It was odd that no matter how much he ate, Shaggy was always rail thin. Sure, the show was dorky and predictable, but it was still fun. Danger prone Daphne. Velma was shaped so weird- lumpy and crooked but then again she's just a cartoon. I also liked the episodes when they met famous people, like Batman and Robin, Harlem Globetrotters, Davy Jones, etc. I HATED Scrappy on the later episodes when it was just him and Scooby plus Daphne. Good show overall.

Sure, it got repetitious, but a good portion of my life has been spent in anticipation of finding out who was behind the ghost mask on "Scooby Doo." In my younger days they almost always fooled me. The episodes with Scrappy Doo where they just chased around some real monster (not a masked person) never did anything for me. But Shaggy and Scooby's adventures together have always made me laugh. "Scooby Doo" has got to be partially responsible for my interest in murder mysteries and all that nowadays.
