Tue May 13 2008everything i get on amazon always ends up better then i think it would be. because i look at the reviews and see what people say. this is no exception, all the reviews are good and so is the bike. looks better in person. the only thing that sucked is that i had to bring it to a bike shop to assemble the gears and brakes. i got it for $250 with free shipping. i would pay $400 for the same thing its real nice. great quality

Fri May 02 2008I paid $256 for the medium-size Schwinn Laguna, with free shipping from Amazon. It was shipped via FedEx and arrived three days after I placed my order. The Schwinn Laguna appears to be the same as the Schwinn Circuit, which is the model that Schwinn sells at its retail stores for about $600 or more. The Laguna requires some assembly, but nothing difficult. I spent most of my time adjusting the derailleurs, which were a little touchy. I came close to paying for a professional tuneup instead of spending my own time with the adjustments, but I found that I enjoyed tinkering around with the bike's components. I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam, and the Laguna's size is fine. I had to play around with the seat and the handlebars to get the fit just right. Avid bikers usually recommend that you buy your bike from a bike shop instead of from a department store or online, but if you're a novice (like me), don't want to spend a ton of money, and couldn't tell a Trek from a Huffy if it weren't fo... Thu Apr 17 2008Purchased this from Amazon for less than $300 with tax and shipping. This is not much more than the price of department store bikes. The components are a good entry to mid level quality. The assembly was fairly easy. The assembly and fine tuning everything (except gearing) took about 45 minutes. You will need the adapter for the small valve stems before you ride, it is not the standard size and the tires come with no air. For the average price of a department store bike (~ $200) you don't get much. For $100 more on this bike you get a better frame, double wall rims, better components, you get an entry level bike shop quality bike. I give this 5 stars due to the quality you get for the price. I test rode Scott, Specialized, and Trek before I bought this. They were $600 to $720 for entry level and slightly better bikes, but not that much better. Mine required fine tuning the dérailleurs. If you are unable to so, $30 to $50 at your local bike shop should get it. You will then have a smoo... Read more
