Tue Oct 20 2009The only thing that's annoying about scams are the people who fall for them. Update: I guess I shouldn't have used the word "only" because it isn't the only thing that's annoying about it. It was a poor choice of words on my part. But, I still stand on my general review. I do think people need to be a little more aware of things, especially in this electronic age that we live in. That's some of the reasons why I never bank or pay my bills online.

Tue Oct 20 2009Annoying isn't quite the right word here. Online scams have gotten increasingly clever as the organizations perpetrating them grow with the pool of potential money. Scam organizations view their crimes as victimless since credit card fraud usually isn't accountable to the cardholder him or herself, at the end of the day, but fraud protection is an ever-increasing expense with costs that trickle down to us all. Hell, even the notoriously easy-to-spot Nigerian 419 Scammers are getting more crafty. One of them managed to dupe Citibank to the tune of $27m.

Tue Oct 20 2009I'm not sure whether the perps or their victims are the most annoying.
