What a cool little town this is! It is beautiful in the spring. This place has alot of history, and there are trolly tours through the historic downtown and there is a ton of beautiful parks with fountains everywhere. And the nightlife is pretty good too, there are a few army bases nearby which= hot guys everywhere downtown on the weekends. The parking downtown can be a hassle on weekend nights, and the side streets you have to park on are kind of scary to walk down but all in all this is great vacation spot!

This is a nice town to visit but I recommend other than Summer which is oppressive, at least for me. I sat on the same Bench waiting for the bus as did Forrest Gump in the movie, said a prayer in the great looking Cathedral and got sloshed in Kevin Barry's Irish Pub on the cobble street in the old town.

I've only been there in passing on my way from Fla to Ohio. I wished I'd gotten a chance to stop, as it seemed like a place I might actually like.

Beautiful live oak trees. I walked into a bar and almost everybody there lined up to meet me. That won't happen up in many other places.

I live in Savannah and have lived here most of my life and I still love it. Although recently it is being taken over by too many rude Yankees. Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful. Stay home YANKEE!

Here is an honest opinion about Savannah from a 23 year old point of view. Savannah is a good city currently experiencing a growth spurt on the outskirts of the city. I have lived here for about a year and have fairly enjoyed my time here. It has great scenery downtown with its historic buildings and park squares (if that is your taste), and Tybee Island beach is a good area but after that, really nothing else to do. Many areas are unsafe and not good to wonder around. I think Savannah is a great place to visit, and a decent place to live maybe for retirees, but may not be so pleasant for kids or teens. They may become bored pretty quick.

I was there when I was 13 which is a long time ago. I did'nt care for it then and I got in a fight with a black kid in a run down arcade. Also our Church chaperone saw a bum expose himself in a park. But I've been reading about it and Im sure decades letter I would have a different perspective.

I have lived in Savannah for three years. I fell in love with the place pretty quickly with all the history and architecture and overall quirky vibe. The beach is nothing special as far as beaches go, but it's still a beach and people don't visit here for the beach anyway. BUT (there's always a but) it's bad sides are becoming more apparent as I live here. Crime for this small city is through the roof. The school system is in bad shape. The cost of living is relatively high and jobs don't pay much. If you like sports, well, this ain't the town for you. All we have is a Class A baseball team (Sand Gnats, no kidding) and if 300 people show up for a game, it's a good night. And speaking of sand gnats....OUCH. Oh, I still love it here, but we certainly got some work to do. But it is a very nice place to visit and cheaper than Charleston.

It is probably the only southern city that i would visit, it is sort of haunted like. Nice history, and it is sort of close to the beach, but i wouldnt want to live there. I lived in the south for a number of years, and am just escaping now. So if i ever were to visit it again, it wouldn't be for a while

Savannah has done a good job preserving its historic architecture. There are plenty of small parks in the city where you can relax. Also, they throw a fun St. Patrick's Day celebration. Just a few miles away is Tybee Island, where you can relax on the beach. There are plenty of historic memorials nearby too, such as Fort Pulaski. Shopping and radio stations are very good for a city its size. Also, driving habits in Savannah are good compared with the rest of Georgia, especially north of the fall line. On the downside, the quickest way for most of the rest of Georgia to get to Savannah is I-16, which is a very boring drive.

I chose Savannah, Georgia as the location where I broke up with one of my exboyfriends. It was a perfect town for this occasion. The town is very uplifting, and downtoearth, the perfect place to end a long term relationship that was going no where. :(

Savannah is one of the finest towns in the country. The archetecture is great as is the atmosphere. If there is one drawback it's that the military lets some of it's numnuts run a little wild downtown but a call to the base commander usually calms that down for a while.
