Tue Feb 16 2010While I was in Las Vegas, I rented a car from Sav-Mor for two days. At the time, they told me the daily rate was $39.00 and I declined the insurance coverage since I am fully covered under Geico. A few days after returning the rental car on time with a full tank of gas, my credit car was charged with $220.00 from Sav-Mor. I called and talked to a manager named Johnathan who was rude and sounded like a thug. He told me that the invoice included insurance coverage which I had declined and gas since I did not bring back a gas receipt which I was not informed of. I asked to speak to his boss since he was just simply unconcerned and obnoxious about customer service. His reply was that he is the boss over all three locations in Las Vegas so all complaint calls will be forwarded to him anyway. Anyway, I just wanted to warn everyone not to do business with this company since obviously they dont care about their customers nor reputation. I wished I had read these comments here before renting a ... Read more

Thu Dec 03 2009I am extremelly disapointed. My reservation was for ONE day, locally. I brought in everything I was asked to bring in when I called to get direcctions: driver's license, insurance card, utility bill showing same address on my driver's license, credit card, etc. At the couner, my credit card was only approved for $335, I was told a deposit on cc must be EXACTLY $350. I offered to leave $500 CASH, PLUS the $335 on cc for the 1 day rental of $13.00, and was denied. I then offered more cash, however much he wanted, I was desperate. The agent B****ie was very unhelpful and unsympathetic, and I had to run all over town to make a quick deposit on my credit card so that I'd have exactly $350. I explained this to him, but he said "sorry, the system won't allow me". This cost me much precious time and money in the long run due to the reasons I was renting the car to begin with. When I returned with another credit card with $2,000.00 on it, I was greeted by another agent, I explained what had jus... Read more

Mon Nov 30 2009I booked a car here for Nov.26 at 4:30PM to return on Nov.30 at 4:30PM. I picked up the car at 4:50PM on Nov.26 at this Sav-Mor rental company and the lady at front desk told me to fill the gas in full with unleaded when I return it. On Nov.30 at 3PM, I returned the car and filled the gas in full with unleaded as what I was told. When they were giving me the receipt to finalize my pay, they charged me $7.95 for not bringing in a gas receipt as proof that I had filled the tank where in fact when they inspected the car they saw the tank was full. They said it's a proof that we really fill the tank with gas and not water. How in the heck will I fill it with water, I used it to drive there to drop it off and if it was water it wouldn't run properly. This is the only rental company that's asking for receipt. I am renting cars 5 to 7 times in a year and this is the only time I was asked with receipt. This is so ridiculous. When I went to their front desk, I told her you only told me to fill ... Read more

Tue Jul 07 2009We traveled to L.V. June 9 to 11 (yes, just 2 days, for family visits) and had a car from Savmor for that time. The daily rate was less than any priceline bid that was NOT accepted. The short, blond guy who waited on us was quick and to the point, got us in and out, and also greeted us when we brought the car back. Since the socket (cigarette lighter) didn't work, I couldn't plug my GPS in and had to charge it on my laptop. Not a biggy for 2 days so didn't bring car back for exchange.

Wed Jun 10 2009This is very long, just hang in there......... The reviews were dead on about Savmor AKA Ace on how rude, obnoxious, arrogant the idiot who works the counter is. Don't know his name but the bill shows DPK as the employee. He had blond hair and was around 5'5". I have rented countless cars over the years but never from Ace / Savmor. We booked the rental on line for 19 dollars a day with unlimited mileage. Upon arriving at the rental complex our first clue should have been how all the other car rental agencies were packed with waiting people and how no one was at the counter for Ace. He asked if we would like insurance, I told him No, my American Express plus my personal car insurances covers rentals. He proceeded to tell my some BS story about his mother renting a car from him and getting into a minor accident and being out 6 thousand dollars and she used AX. First off what son would screw their own mother and not try to "take care of it"? Second, I have had AX for 24 years and they do ... Read more

Thu Aug 28 2008If you are considering using this rental car agency please read my comments. I have never been treated so rudely. James R. Kalekas, the General Manager of this company lacks basic customer service skills. He was very rude and condescending. Jonathan, who is the manager running the SAVMOR rental center did not display the ability to resolve my concerns and became very frustrated and avoided further conversations with me. I

Thu Jun 19 2008I have several car rentals under my belt and I have never had such a bad experience. Actually I have never had that bad of an experience buying anything in my life. I rented the car to drive 80 miles North of Las Vegas for a guys week long golf trip. When myself and a few other guys were about 15 miles North of Vegas, on the way to our first tee time, the A/C went from a spec of semi cool air to only hot air. We were hot and frustrated because it was 110 but we pressed on so we didn't miss our tee time. I called Savmor and asked if the would send out another car in place of the one we had. Their response was that they couln't not but if we drove the 160 mile round trip they would be happy to swap out the car for one with working A/C. This would be great if I wanted to waste a pre paid round of golf or half a vacation day and a tank of gas to swap out the car. I begged them to send out a car or find a way to get it fixed while I was golfing but the refused. They said they wil... Read more

Thu Apr 03 2008The counter person told me my vehicle was not ready and would be about 30 minutes, but offered me another car ' and larger (what would normally be an upgrade for same price) for a nominal fee of less than $30 over my five day stay in Las Vegas... I thought no big deal $5/ per day more for a larger car for my party of 4. However, when I returned the car they told me that I now owe another $170 (5 days x $30/day + taxes). I had 3 witnesses (since we were each paying for the cost of the rental car) as we all had to agree on the 'original' increase. I contacted the company in writing (return receipt) and by phone... they would not talk on the phone and told me to write. I have still not heard back... big 'thumbs down' on this company's customer service! I had to pay the full amount before they would let me check out! They cheated us!

Thu Feb 07 2008I rented from these guys hoping to give some business to the "little guy", but they are little for a reason...they aren't good to their customers. I will confess to being a less than intelligent consumer in this instance, but I was depending on a company to do right by me, not take advantage of me. 1. The rate I booked on line wasn't available when I picked up the car. Apparently you have to have a bigger car in order to take the car out of state. 2. As said in previous reviews, their insurance is highly priced, and they are slick at selling it 3. They push the prepaid gas which is a huge rip off, because you have to plan to bring back the car empty which is unsafe, and virtually impossible to use all you buy. 4. The car was clean, but older, and wheels were out of balance. 5. I thought I was clear that I told the representative that I wanted to drop the car off in Phoenix, instead of Las Vegas, but she swears that she told me that I could not. I spent the last day of my vacatio... Read more

Fri Nov 16 2007I rented an economy car from Savmor for three days while on a business trip in Las Vegas. Here is what their Web site said about the company: "We believe in good people, good cars and good customer service." This statement is the biggest joke of all time! First off the clerk tried to sell me CDW insurance. This is common for most rental car companies, but they were offering it for $24 a day! Overpriced ripoff! Though, they did give me the car I reserved - a Kia Rio, but with major mechanical problems. The brakes had a loud squeal, the car vibrated terribly at idle and the engine had an exhaust leak. Definitely, an unsafe car. When I returned the car after the rental, I nicely told the clerk about the problems with the car. This is when the "attitude problem" started. "Hey, you should have just returned it for another car. And, "You got a smokin' deal, so what does it matter." And my favorite, "We know nothing about the condition of these cars, unless someone tells us." Savmor may "bel... Read more

Tue Nov 06 2007Do NOT rent from savmor rent-a-car. They will jack the price up as soon as you check in. If you ask them a price get it in writing because what they tell you and what they actually charge are two different things. The cars they have are junk, they are trashy, they do not clean them. There was soda spilled all over ours. You have to worry if the car is going to fall apart while driving. Youd be better of taking a taxi or even walking! They have rude agents and over charge your credit card. The management isnt much better they dont listen to a thing you have to say. They are lazy and just want to pass you off to someone else, so they dont have to work. If you rent a car spend the extra few bucks to go somewhere else, where they will treat you like a paying customer and make it a worry free experience, and they wont over charge your credit card and send you through loop holes. Best of all you wont have to deal with the lazy rude people in this world

Wed Oct 24 2007I had a horrible experience with them. When I booked for a Standard car, they provided a car which is even not having a Cruise control. Car was in a horrible condition. They charged for extra miles for miles driven outsite Neveda though my net booking clearly mentioned that it unlimited milage. on net it was charged $91 but I paid $170. Staff is horrible even for small clarifications they don't know anything will direct to their Manager. She will not be there at most of the times. For my compliant I have to make 15 calls & kept 10 voice messages, response was nil. After my 16th call their manager responded without any opology, she falied to give proper answers for the problems what I faced. I AM COMPLETELY DISPPOINTED WITH THEIR SERVICE. Alerting all other travelers about thier poor service/ Cars. I WILL NEVER EVER DEAL WITH THEM IN MY LIFE!!!!

Tue Sep 25 2007Terrible company to do business with. Internet quote of $90.78 for 3 days turned to $181.28. "Unlimited mileage" does not mean unlimited mileage. If you take car over state line, you must pay for mileage. Be very careful of this company. Car was in poor shape and very dirty.

Wed Jun 27 2007I recently had a very bad experience with Savmor Rent A Car and I will never rent from them again. First, Savmor forced me to pay for an upgrade from the economy car that I had reserved to a larger vehicle because they supposedly have a policy against allowing economy vehicles to be taken out of state, a major burden considering how close Las Vegas is to three other states. I pointed out to the sales staff that this policy was never mentioned anywhere on their website, which I had read carefully when I made the reservation. The sales person then accused me of lying and said I had not read the policies on the website. I then asked the sales person to show me where in their policies this policy is listed. The sales person then spent several minutes searching through their policies before admitting that they were unable to find this supposed policy. At that point the sales person did not apologize and continued to insist that I pay the full price for the upgrade, saying that I should ca... Read more
